Tier VI submarines in ranked battles are not OP .
SodaBubbles replied to Herbstnebel1975's topic in General Discussion
Hahaha. Poor lad, a bit hurt I see. And yet, while they are using cheat torps that are unethical, subs are not OP. The opening poster is complaining about a problem that doesn't exist. -
The tech tree BBs represent a line that had wonderful potential but were poorly balanced by WG. One of their rare balancing failures for non-USSR tech tree ships. I expect the Italian gun handling and ballistics were too close to the Russians, so they deprecated the line as a whole. I was totally disappointed, especially since the Italians are so beautiful. I did have fun in Lepanto playing in Ranked and Grand Battle, because it is ok at medium ranges. But there is hardly a T9 BB that is not better. As for the premiums, Guilio and Roma are both superb, though I dont play the latter much because of the CV plague. Marco Polo vies with Hizen for the worst T9 premium. What a waste of dev effort. I wish they'd give that ship some love.

Still no NEW free XP ship - why WG? Why?
SodaBubbles replied to bigredg's topic in General Discussion
That's what I do, have reset the German cruiser line 4-5 times, have 19-21 pt captains for the T6 and above. That line is a blast to play in coop, and is still good in Randoms. -
This complementary effect is going to be scary, especially with their combined spotting. Sub makes a ship damcon, CV farms it for easy fire/flood damage. Worst part is, the devs will do nothing when people leave the game in droves....

On NA i am up to T10 in all lines except CVs.

Amagi and its horrible accuracy! I need help
SodaBubbles replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I have 40K games on three servers, and I have noticed that quite often. Very tired of it. I dont often salvo fire for that reason -- at least only one turret falls short that way. -
1. Play divisioned. Best division is with a competent and aggressive DD player. On NA I generally triple div with regular div mates who are both excellent DD players. I am solid BB player. This has not only raised our win rates but I have learned tons about BB play and backing up people. 2. When guns are unreliable, ripple fire -- I typically fired my turrets in slightly different places on the ship, get more RNG rolls. "Walking" the shells through a turn can yield dev strikes on cruisers dancing away from you -- once dev struck three cruisers in three salvos in a KGV en route to a 7 kill game, just ripple firing.

It's why I seldom play T10. The gameplay is much better in T5-7

As predicted, cheat torps/subs get a boost
SodaBubbles replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
Yes. Seriously though, you never thought about ethics in gaming? I have. if you look at the mechanics like homing torps, CVs, detonations etc that are widely hated, the underlying reason that players hate them is that they are unethical. They usually lack the ability to articulate that thought, and why, that's all. -

Dont need to play subs to comprehend how they work. I havent played CVs against humans either, and have no trouble understanding how wrong they are for the game. I dont play broken cheat mechanics against other humans. Totally unethical. Unethical to play them or put them in the game, and very very bad for the game. -

I don't need be in a six-car pile-up to know that its bad. -
Submarine gameplay feels more like a game of chance than anything else
SodaBubbles replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
The double pinging just sucks. It's the typical developer pattern in recent years, in which the mechanic is fun only for the people operating it, and the people attacking by it have no recourse. There is no way to stop someone from pinging you, and no way to stop them from re-pinging you. Thats seriously wrong. -

I said CURVE which somehow became CIRCLE but thanks for playing. -

Haha. People get torped all the time, dodging them perfectly, only to find the homing torps curving back to nail them. Maybe you're doing something wrong. -

Haha. Literal repetition of what I said. Seriously? Lol. Who said anything about fear? I was talking about a cheat mechanic the devs had made legal. -

I am not speaking to the devs, who already know what a pile of crap they designed. I'm speaking to my fellow players who love this game. The fact that the developers have incorporated a cheat mechanic and said its ok to cheat does not make it less of a cheat. In a way it's good, it means that serious players are going to avoid submarines, leaving them to the idiots. Just as with CVs... -

[Poll] How do you like new "Convoy" game mode?
SodaBubbles replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much this -- been playing Harekaze w/torp booster and had a couple matches with multiple Liberty kills on my first salvo of 16 torps. Once the DD is on the path, or worse, on the spawn side of the path, it has free rein. it's fairly well balanced except for the advantage accruing to attacking DDs. I wonder what could be done about that? -

I agree. The Devs gave themselves an impossible task, trying to make subs appealing while making players of surface ships accept them. Not possible. -

I dont think the devs are going to take your hint. Using DC to stop homing was piling stupid on top of stupid, a drunken tower of idiocy. -
[Info from PT] Captain skills currently active now show on both main screen and new "H" screen...

Nice! Good work, WG. -
Had to quit ranked, several games in a row with 47% CV drivers averaging 20-30K damage in their botes. Switched to convoy. Got a botter in a CV with 27K games and a 41% WR, averaging 20K damage in all ships. thanks WG!

"this will make gameplay more dynamic..." Not for the targets!
