The sate of Co Ops today.

Just revert all the changes to coop. Old coop was 100x better. The bots were more dangerous, and there was some possibility of games being fun instead of being a slaughterfest of helpless bots.
  2. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/237 A mixed bag, but at least notable for its candor. They seem determined to ram subs down our throats no matter how unpopular they are, sadly. They learned nothing from CVs. But at least they worked hard to polish this turd and at least they were open about it. Note that they removed the damage bonus. To address this issue, while also preserving the unique gameplay we've built for submarines, we've reworked their torpedoes, splitting them into two types that will receive different bonuses from their use in conjunction with sonar pings. The first type are homing torpedoes. Their maneuverability will be reduced, and the distance at which they stop homing on destroyers and cruisers will be increased twofold. The rest of the parameters and mechanics of these torpedoes remain similar to the current ones on the live server: the first ping activates homing, the second ping improves it, but doesn't make it better than how it is now on the main server. However, the successfully Sonar Pinged torpedoes no longer receive any bonus to their damage. The second type are torpedoes with a magnetic detonator. Their base damage is somewhat higher than that of homing torpedoes. The first ping reduces the torpedoes' detectability by 25%, and the second ping doubles their damage if they hit the torpedo protection. These torpedoes can potentially deal a lot of damage, but they do not have any horizontal homing at all — when the Ping effect is active, they can only ascend or descend to match the level of the target.

Can we please remove overpens now?

    This is just major exaggeration.

Can we please remove overpens now?

The 'triangle mafia" is the majority of players in the game, thanks. CVs and subs are both idiotic and massively unpopular, not because they are counters, but because they make the game tactically impoverished and remove the fun from it.

Can we please remove overpens now?

    This is even better!

    Triple coal container droprate nerfed??

It hasn't been nerfed. I play every day and noticed no change.

    General CV related discussions.

Just my periodic reminder that though you've distracted the playerbase with the absolute garbage that is WOWs submarines, CVs still suck for the other players in the game. So glad I have never ruined another human player's fun by checking into a match in a CV.

Marco Polo. Any buff on the horizon?

I'd rather have the lower sigma and a more useful reload time. Right now I never even think about playing it.
  9. Yes. After a string of 2-sub games that turned Ranked into Ganked, I decided I'd had enough and switched to Brawl. At least I can do my dailies there. Sad that I have to do that. I enjoy Ranked, but between the 40% CV drivers and the joy of cheat torps, it's ceased to be enjoyable.

    Yammy LM?

If your aim is good, it is ridiculously powerful. But you have to be a good shot.
  11. It's way too rational and intelligent, so it will never happen. But it's a good idea.
  12. SodaBubbles

    Can you guys believe this?!

Not just DDs in general. There are plenty of DDs with one rack of torps, fewer than high tier subs, that can still get torp hits.

    What keeps you playing WoWS?

At the moment, inertia. The play in Randoms is just awful. At least I didn't encounter any subs, but selfish 45% CV drivers continue to spoil it for their own team. But of course, the world would end if WG placed some minimal requirements on the privilege of playing CVs. God forbid we require that players actually learn something...
  14. This is progress -- every change a move in the right direction -- not enough, but its a start. Kudos to the devs for listening and implementing changes, even if it did take much, much too long. They even nerfed a Russian BB and the Brokengrad. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/238 Balance changes X Zaō: Number of Hit points increased from 40,800 to 42,800. X Franklin D. Whoa. Saw one in battle today. That thing is ugly AF.

Latest blog shows WG again moving in right direction

I have 40000 games on 3 servers. I have been opposed to all of wg's Game - destroying moves.

    new players?

Ha. My first game in Yubari in Beta Randoms was so awesome! Drove right through the reds, burnt down the CV. It was an epic miracle of luck. My second game, and the next 5,000? Not so much.
  18. I didn't expect them to do anything about DCP. The devs have repeatedly been disingenuous in their presentations about DCP and pings, signaling that griefing with pings is here to stay. At that level of malice, they are obviously enjoying the players' dismay at their idiotic assignment of DCP to handle pings. Fundamentally, subs remain garbage. But look at the positive side -- they were open about what they did and why. I think someone has finally explained to the head office that they run a company that markets a product, and are not running a Tsarist state in which the serfs can be expected to stay on the estates no matter how they are mistreated.
  19. Also, it would great if some kind of reward were offered for using the players as guinea pigs for a live test in Randoms.
  20. When a mod gives you a strike, can we get a link to the post that was struck? Otherwise what happened is a mystery. It makes moderation useless because the poster in question gets no feedback about what was wrong.
  21. SodaBubbles

Can we change the moderation information?

    Ah I see. Thanks.

I dont think anyone had complained about the Z-44, it's hardly as popular as those other ships, so it was good that they took action on the detect. It's weak but doable now, and I play it because its a challenge. Now it might be real fun.

    Hayate or Vampire II?

Vampire II is great. Good range too, can play poor man's Kleber with HE spam. And the weird anti-sub rocket launchers are priceless. I have no idea how to aim them, but they sure make pretty arcs in the air.

Another "Important message for the community"

We actually know a lot about those people. This is because we have our previous experience with aircraft carriers. Many sub players report multiple drops in karma. The number of submarines in queue is tiny relative to the number of other ships. If subs were well-liked and popular the opposite situation would obtain. WG withheld the results of the survey item on whether Subs were ready for random. Hiding those numbers strongly implies that they are negative. Clans are reporting they are losing players because of subs, and many players I know are curtailing play. These are all indicators that Subs are not well-liked among the so-called silent majority.

    Torpedo role reversal

Yes! Kitakami with 40 homing torps, cleaning away the subs before the battle is joined. Make it so, WG!
