    What to do in these situations?

    Always contest caps. This does not mean capping, necessarily. But you should set out blind torps whenever you cap. They will always arrive before they expected. Entering and then leaving moments later can get ships to pop radar. Then you can return and cap it out if possible.

    Fix the game? So much needs to be done. 1. Update the API with a richer variety of data. 2. Remove CVs from Randoms and all competitive modes. 3. Remove Subs from Randoms and all competitive modes. 4. Add ten new maps 5. Add 5-10 new operations, including ops for T9 and T5 6. Revert the changes to coop. 7. Return flags for achievements. That removal was just stupid. Why make it harder for F2P players to play? We need them. 8. Update the interface with player-suggested changes. 9. Give us a button to turn off emblems, which are really just taunts. 10. Remove the restricted T4 MM that has done immense harm to the MM. 11. Halve the price of premiums 12. Give players a battle button with the option of +1 or +2 tier spread. 13. Redo the commander skill rework. Make all skills available to all ships, after adjustments for gun size, as in the old days. If I want a meme torp build on Prinz Heinrich, why not? Right now only one or two builds are viable for most ships, and the cruiser choices suck. 14. Get rid of all the botters and AFKers. Such players are easy to spot in the any stats program, they are the ones with 40,000 games and 200 PR and 14K average damage. and most important of all: 15. Bring back the old Fubuki.

    They don't need to read it. There's commercial software that can data mine text very easily. If they were actually analyzing it, that's how they would do it. I think the surveys are a great idea, and if they make the data public and abide by the findings of the survey, then I will certainly go out and buy some premium ships for my EU account. It would be a huge step forward to see the company actually listening to its customers.

    it would have been a lot more meaningful if they hadn't wasted two years on developing an underwater environment on each map BEFORE they had the mechanics of subs worked out. Now they have that massive sunk cost to recoup. In the end I think that will drive subs into Randoms, to the detriment of the game.

    I play on two servers, and can't remember the last time. That was a thing several years ago, but after the Rework, there simply weren't enough top players playing Randoms all the time.

    All wrong. Low tier used to be a blast before the ReWork screwed it with triple Hosho matches. The devs knew they were destroying the low tiers when they did that, but didn't care. I loved T3-4 in the old days, played it frequently. Now I just skip, who wants to eat double CV trash game after game?

    If there were no CVs I'd play T4 several games a day. It used to be a ton of fun, and Ishi was one of my favorite ships. But then the Rework wrecked it....

    Who cares? If I play T8 I want to have a match in which I can contribute meaningfully and have fun, not spend it running from fantasy superships with broken guns and armor all game long. T10 match play is crap. But frankly, I doubt anyone would notice queue times if they were longer (they probably would not be, because more T9s would be sent to T8 and T10 matches. What would end are the all-T9 matches). On NA, 31 of my last 35 in Massachusetts games I have been uptiered at least 1 tier. I am tired of it, stopped playing Mass -- a ship I really love and that's fun to play. I simply don't play T8, and stopped buying T8s ages ago, even before I stopped spending money completely. A lot of people did, which is why WG made those vain attempts to patch the problem.

    You could well be right, it could be the opposite. But what you talk about here is maddening. I load into a match in a T8 and I am never top tier. But if I play T9, frequently it is all T9s. That also happens quite a bit at T6. This basically says there are enough ships for a one tier matchmaking spread, which means the two tier spread is important to their business model. Another option for this would be to let the players select when they choose Randoms if they want a one-tier or two-tier spread. But one thing the devs really hate is player choice....

    WG needs fodder botes for the high tier matches. With a two tier spread players are sunk and return to the queue more rapidly than with a one tier spread. This creates collapses, which the devs love, since they also shove players back into the queue more rapidly. This desire for collapses is why WG has the detonations, CVs, the silly channeled and choked maps, don't remove botters and AFKers, etc. They want as many collapses as they can get. The queue is what WG watches with an eagle eye. Indeed, during the CV rework disaster the devs claimed in one of their announcements that the queue wait was the most cited reason when players left the game. This despite the fact that we were all seeing our buddies abandon the game because of CVs. It was self-evident nonsense, but it did show their urgent focus on the queue.

    6-8 this year I'd say, at least. They are super easy to model. Griefers rejoice! It's frightening to think of what gimmicks they might get. Griefers don't like taking risks, so I imagine the theme of those gimmicks will be risk mitigation -- extended battery life, better homing, etc.

    Yup. Whenever they "test" something they have to make everything suck, they just can't isolate them in Gold league or alternatively, in Bronze, so people can leave them if they want to. ""The Fifth Season of Ranked Battles is going to be held in a 7 vs. 7 format playing Tier X ships. Superships will also feature in all three leagues! Superships will be subject to the same restrictions applied to their "standard" counterparts. Superships will be available for rent from random bundles. This will help us prevent the battle queue from filling up with superships only. In addition to Ranked Battles, you can also helm superships into Co-op Battles—a great place to master the new ships and their mechanics in a more relaxed environment."
  19. Would love to see this mode made permanent, with variations in tier and number of ships. Submarines would have to be banned so they don't destroy the mode.

    Played T9 and avoided subs and CVs. Cancer-free games are such a pleasure. Won the game too.

    India Bravo terra three is the -10% cost flag. I expect it was used less than the other flags. I seldom use it. Time to return our flags for achievements.
  22. I think the counterarguments are obvious. But I sympathize with your predicament. WG's use of T8s as fodderbotes for T10 monsters is unconscionable. Long before I stopped spending, I stopped buying T8s. Why pay to be fodder? There's not much else you can do to WG, tho, since they dont care about gameplay, but queue times. Last time the flow of T8 premium money slowed they tried to make changes to the MM and ended up making it worse. People have forgotten, but the first really stupid change was the T8 MM that screwed T5 and T6, and changed the way players chose what ships to play. That was the first in the cascade of bad decisions for gameplay that WG has inflicted on us in the last few years. That was the key factor in the current intolerable T8 MM.

    You misspelled disaster. Sounds like it was fun for him! Strange, but I have had great fun yet never made another player's life pure hell. Thanks for illustrating exactly why subs suck for the game, and why WG's strategy of monetizing griefing is so unethical and incompetent.
