Kearsage is not OP. Its guns are not very good, and it eats pens. I routinely am over 100K in my T9-10 BBs but never in my few games in Kearsage, all in Arms Race where damage is easy. I like seeing them on Red, an underperforming BB that has a massive damage pool, another FdG. Just food. Pommern has these problems, but it is less clunky than Kearsage, has faster reload, has great secondaries and is a lot more fun to play. The only problem with Pommern is people stupidly charge in expecting to torp, and get quickly killed. I hate seeing Poms on my team for that reason.

Two supercruiser lines proposals
SodaBubbles replied to totally_potato's topic in General Discussion
Excellent post and proposals. Do your proposed ships get turtleback armor schemes? -
It's garbage, but it is easier to farm XP in wins. :)
-
6 in a row now, down 4 to 1 in ships on Arms race immediately. Three DDs gone right away. T10 gameplay is garbage, and when you combine it with Arms Race..... every game is a collapse. UPDATE: 7 in a row now.

Yes, I know you think it is normal. Thanks!

There's an obvious decline over time.
-
If only the devs didn't suffer from a visceral phallic envy of nations with real navies.... and yes, those Russian CVs suck even harder for the players actually playing the game. I hate seeing them on Red.

it looks stable because the Y-axis is so compressed. But it shows that in Dec it peaks at 32K online, and we are now at 22K. It also shows a steady overall decline. This is what I see on NA, where many of my friends and div mates have left over the idiotic ReWorked CVs, and now the even more idiotic subs.

[Poll] How many sequential stages did you guys go with new line of "German Battleships" in the Armory?
SodaBubbles replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
What they should do is release the ships and then make the grind for the camos.- 39 replies

Up to T7 BB. Enjoyable and easy grind. Wish the game had enabled us to grind more.- 39 replies

New achievements, still no flags :(

The signals for achievements is important, so that F2P players can play. Oh well. -
US BB's. Vermont or Montana Line... or None?

Izumo guns hit hard and are super accurate, excellent shell grouping. -
US BB's. Vermont or Montana Line... or None?
SodaBubbles replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Except for Kawachi, the IJN line is solid all the way through. Kongo is a ton of fun, Fuso is amazing once you master its gunnery, Nagato is good, Amagi is good, Izumo has some of the best guns in the game, and of course Yammy with legendary... The French line is also solid from Normandie on. Lyon is brilliant, Richeliu highly underrated, Alsace a ton of fun, and of Republic is also underrated, excellent guns and troll armor. The Frenchies are a really fun BB line. Either line is way more fun than the old US line, and the new US line was huge disappointment of slow clunky food masses for other ships to feast on. They won't be improved until the devs throw in the towel and substantially reduce their reloads. The German line is still strong, except for FdG, which I always view as food when it appears on Red. GK in the current HE spam meta is basically a funeral barge. T5-8 on that line are good, though. -
I've just gone AFK from a T10 game with 2 subs and a CV.
SodaBubbles replied to I_need_an_adult's topic in General Discussion
They do nothing. I've reported players for many different things, including teamkilling back in the old days, and several times saw the same player in battle the next day. That's when I learned that WG loves players like that -- botters, AFKs, griefers, etc -- because they cause collapses that put players back in the queue faster. -

That sort of slippery slope argument always fails because nobody goes down that slope. People leave games for reasons they are quite open about -- the map sucks (heard that one especially from slow BBs), they dont want to play with CVs, they are low tier in the match (most common from T6 and T8s in T8/10 matches), and now, they have to eat subs. I have 40K games on three servers. No one has ever left over the reasons you name. I have never heard any leave a match for any of those reasons. If they are, it is a tiny minority even among people who abandon matches, themselves a tiny minority. All the problems that cause people to quit matches are the result of bad match construction by the devs. All of them are easily curable by the devs giving people more choices and more control over the matches they enter. -

SodaBubbles replied to I_need_an_adult's topic in General Discussion
Why should we? The devs know that few players want those ships in the battle. What other forms of protest do we have? Even tons of money lost when people quit doesn't sway them. If WG doesn't want players quitting on matches, it can give them opt out buttons. I am sure many of us would be happy to wait to play matches w/o CVs. -

He is not scum. WG gives players only two choices: eat this trash or don't participate. Non-participation is the only protest option. Do we have an opt-out button? Can I opt out of griefing mechanics like CVs and subs? Can I opt for fun matches? Nope. I also had one like that today on NA: 2 subs and 1 CV per side. I killed both red subs in Haida, they were garbage players, as you'd expect from people playing a craven low-skill griefing mechanic. Killing the subs was zero fun, just like taking out the trash -- really, they need to change the KILL badge for subs to include a trash bin in the center. What is the point of trash matches like that? Who was having fun? Nobody comes to play that. I didn't quit on the match because I was divved. But on EU where I play for fun, I will probably suicide such MMs in the future. The devs must really hate this game fiercely to fill it with such garbage. -
This weekend I ground up Roon on NA from stock to Hindy, fully upgraded, all on Arms Race. Why have the devs tried several times to develop this mode? Simple. Of the dozens of games I played, only 1 was hard fought and close at the end. ALL the others were crappy collapses, most over in the initial moments. This was partly true because it was at T10, where the game play is garbage and recovery from being down a couple of ships is almost impossible, but it was also a fact of the mode in which DDs die with unusual speed. The devs have tried and tried with this mode because it produces shorter games, their dream. It's why we have carriers shoved into every match, to create arbitrary damage and send players back to the queue ASAP. I think from their testing of times with subs that they expected subs would shorten games as well, but the effect was less than they thought it would be. I am very pessimistic that the devs will preserve this as a separate mode. I expect it will be splattered across Randoms like a handful of paint across the Mona Lisa.
-
But isn't the problem the spawn? It would be far more interesting if DDs could spawn in the rear sometimes, so that slow BBs could at least get some damage in before the bots are killed.
-
Haha. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the devs raised that old chestnut in their last missive. "Rock, scissors, paper!" As if subs and CVs had counters or counterplay. They are so delusional.
-
There. is. no. counterplay. That is the whole problem. These are Russian CVs, so after due consideration, the devs will nerf.... the horn sound.

It seems that the update messed up aiming quite a bit

Same from a Nak in AR the other day. Two consecutive bombing runs, the first one was Three Fires and the second one was two fires. It's hard for me to imagine that anyone thought that was balanced. Or that such massive griefing would be fun for the player underneath those bombs. The developers are good at balancing any ships that are not Russian. I think we all knew that the Russian carriers would be a disaster for the game. But they're Russian and CVs, so nothing will happen to them

What little things irk you about the game?
SodaBubbles replied to Hopeless_Guppy's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to turn off my own. Think about it: all they have to do is give us a transparent patch. Then I am not taunting people after I sink them.
