The trick is to do the grind when there is some event like Convoy or arms race. I did Udaloi in a few days in AR. Note that you can buy signals in the research Bureau which is really wonderful.

Was it done from carriers against combat ships in tactical combat situations? Not really. Does it belong in the game in its current form. Hahaha. No.

Shinonome and T61 are powerful ships. So is Gajah Madah. Okhotnik is super fun, especially in coop. Z39 is a ship that everyone underestimates. Haida is super fun- 18 replies

I long ago came to the conclusion that the developers regretted putting destroyers in the game, and now hate them passionately. That is why they put in the rockets and now those idiotic brutal skip bombers. It's even more ironic when you think how little skill is needed to play an aircraft carrier and how much is needed to play a DD. Skip bombers are a positive disincentive to learn the game well. They're also further evidence, as if any were needed, that the developers don't play the game. Sad.

Hahahahahaha. Come on developers, give us some numbers. I doubt anyone could interpret the low numbers of superships there as anything but rejection. Although, if they really wanted to improve the game they could put aircraft carriers, submarines, and superships all together in one mode and then the rest of us could play the excellent game as originally intended.

I tend to agree with the original assertion, and dont even bother with conceal on BBs. IMHO tank builds are better. I rely on good positioning and dodging incoming fire. Concealment is less useful given the CV plague, I think. -
Yup. T7s are de facto T9s now. The higher tier ships you can probably get up to longer range. But short range DDs with slow torps, going to be work to get damage.

There are though. We used to run it with four on NA, and properly flagged you could easily make 60K or 70K FXP. People bought Sims to do that. Lots of players bought T7s for Narai, including me, I picked up Abruzzi and a couple of other ships for it. I know this because when Operations were good I was the server owner on discord of a very large operations-dedicated group on NA, several hundred belonged, with about 50 regulars. Lots of us bought ships for the old Narai, which was a ton of fun. I'd be buying more, but then you decided to ReWork the CVs and blow up the game, and wreck operations. Hope it was worth it. -

I am pretty sure it's the server. I get the stutter when something is spotted or something is killed or some other major event occurs in the game that requires refreshing the screen. It's most common with spotting.- 44 replies

They are COMPLETELY different. I have about 20,000 games in coop on three servers. Their firing scripts are totally different. They used to miss a couple of salvos, now they miss most of them until you are close. In the high tiers they could easily cit you, and cit you ruthlessly up close. Now they are less able to cit you -- when i was grinding Heinrich I had real problems testing the armor because I couldn't get bots to cit, me, they would simply fire off to one side. It's very obvious to everyone, and there have been many complaints. They hit islands and stop far more now. -
Is an ELO system even appropriate in a game in which luck in the form of RNG plays such a huge role -- especially when the server side has so many aiming bugs.

Yes there have been. A couple of patches ago, they changed the gun fire and the movement scripts. Now coop is trash. You can drive right up to several bots in a DD or cruiser and they dont hit you until you're at point blank range. Completely different world there since when Minnesota was released. -

It used to be a lot more punishing. The bots would cit you from any angle, and at the higher tiers could be a challenge. Because of the challenge, it was fun. Now the bots drive around aimlessly, fast ships with good torpedoes do most of the damage, and slow BBs get almost nothing. It's why I havent reset any BB line. If I am grinding in coop, something like German cruisers with good torps and guns is far more useful to play. The devs claim they addressed the problem of ships getting stuck on islands. In fact its much worse now. Lost in the hu-ha over subs has been the decline of coop. My coop record is 337K in a Minnesota. That is probably impossible with the current set of bots. -
Napoli is fun in coop but whenever I see one on red I think "food". Hindy is always a tough opponent. Marceau is an easy ship to have fun in, but I found I influence the battle outcome more in other DDs. But that's probably just me....

Exactly. Subs dont need the underwater world to function in the game. -
The problem with reinstalling isn't just the idiotic, doomed to fail push for subs. It's that the future will not be different. They will not learn. It's that you know after subs that instead of building the game on the good things they have, like operations, they are going to search for further idiocies like superships to shove down our throats. I'd have bought 100 more premium ships by now, if the ReWreck had never happened. But it turns out instead of being a one-off learning experience, they keep reaching into their bag of stupid.

The T10 Soviet sub will be OP AF. Homing torps from 20 kms, sonar with 10 km range, and covered in 75 mm plate. Can't wait to see it join the Krem, Petra, and other examples of great Russian balanz!

They have been nerfed, so at the moment numbers are down because the kind of griefer who plays submarines has to work for damage. They've wasted two years of development effort to making maps for the undersea World. They are not going to have the moral courage to give that up. I expect another round of Buffs for submarines followed by another jump in play.

Vamp is ridiculously good. High DPM, long range for trolling slowing reversing BBs.

T5: Okhotnik because who doesn't love a gun canoe? T6: Fuso because who doesn't love Dev striking Rangers at 23km with extended spotter? T7: KGV. That is one of the most OP ships in the game. -
Shortfalls suck. I wish they would address that.
