Research Bureau (AKA Boredom bureau)
SodaBubbles replied to Smart_Hound's topic in General Discussion
I really like the RB. Just reset the Fr cruisers for it. I keep a stock of RB points to buy signals with, so much better than using credits. -
https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/255 Cheat torps still in, griefing still monetized. Subs get buffed as everyone predicted.

Do bot AFK/bot reports/tickets actually do something?
SodaBubbles replied to No_Grave_but_the_Sea's topic in General Discussion
To continue, what really pisses me off is how easy it is to identify botters. On NA, there are players with over 1200 battles but less than 1500 average damage. That's 1500. Obvious botters are obvious. Another player has less than 2500 average damage after nearly 1500 battles, his highest damage is just 34,000 in a Pensa. Obvious botter is obvious. Numerous players have over 1000 battles but less than 7K average damage. Obvious botters are obvious. And yet, WG does not clean these people out. Instead, the devs love them for putting hardworking and committed players back in the queue. That's just so wrong. -
Do bot AFK/bot reports/tickets actually do something?
SodaBubbles replied to No_Grave_but_the_Sea's topic in General Discussion
They won't do anything. They love botters and AFKers and yoloers because those players speed up matches by triggering collapses. I stopped reporting them ages ago, after seeing players I'd reported multiple times with replays still in game, still not banned. The laziness and indifference of WG on this issue just sucks. -
Obvious vocal minority here, devs.

This is what your future battles will look like
SodaBubbles replied to ARE_YOU_HUMAN's topic in General Discussion
Double CV, double sub. What a dystopian nightmare. So glad I don't have the kind of mind that thinks that is good game play. -
These questions are why I am never going to play it in Randoms. Its HP pool is too low, armor is gimped, and dispersion is awful. Can't imagine what the devs were thinking. Ironically, I supported elevating GC to T6. Glad they didn't do it, considering this end product.
-
Talk about Novo? Why?
-
Once that trash appears in Randoms, I wont be playing T10 at all. Will probably give up T9 as well, since that will mean facing those idiotic superships. T8 won't improve. Just watch.
-
This X 1,000,000.
-
At T8, is there a bad one? If they suit your style, each of them is good.
-
Leone only. Instant port queen.
-
Play cruisers with DD-like qualities, like the British CLs.
-
""""We increased the duration of the twice-pinged sector which will give submarines more time to plan the attack and choose a more comfortable position and moment to launch torpedoes.""" They even buffed homing torps. This "playtesting" is to find the "balance" between what level of griefing ability will attract players to subs? and what level of griefing ability will the playerbase tolerate and still play the game?

It's a ton of fun in coop, since your enemies are brainless.

Some really excellent comments here. I dont think any of us would be against a new ship type that offered exciting new gameplay possibilities. I didn't really think WG could make them work, but I was willing to be convinced. Unfortunately subs are nothing like exciting game play. It\s a testimony to how good the original game concept was that despite introducing two griefer types that exist solely to spoil the fun, it's still a lot of fun.
-
It's not garbage, but its not very good. The gun dispersion is horrible, there are only 6, and the 22 sec reload doesn't make up for the loss of the extra barrels. After two games in Randoms in it, tired of watching my shells disperse around cruisers that need to die. Not playing it in Randoms again. The Zeiten and Heinrich need to switch places. I'd rather have 8 functional 15" barrels (that's Bismarck and Tirp) than 6 dysfunctional 16", and I can't rely on secondaries for kills, since Zeiten has poor armor and only 4 heals. In a T10 match she's just food.

So....it seems that we have a new bug......:(

1132 BXP - in a CO-OP GAME!
SodaBubbles replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
1171 in Minnesota. I am a bit stunned by 376K against the new coop bots, since usually they are dead before I reach 150K. I have only had 2 200K games since they dumbed the bots down. Not even close to 300K, and I've been over 300K in several ships in coop. -
Which ship you never see in game? how make them more popular?
SodaBubbles replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
California and Florida -- reload too long. Obvious move would be to reduce the reload by at least 3-4 sec. But that will never happen. It's too bad because they both have potential. Viribus Unitas -- since it was introduced, players have been complaining it needs armor. I'd play it if it were either much faster and more nimble, or had armor. Oklahoma -- reload sucks, poor shell performance on top of that. Reload needs to be 30s or even 29. The second American BB line -- reload again the major issue. Needs to be reduced to 30s with upgrades. Otherwise, why be food? The armor is a hidden problem, both Vermont and Kansas are really easy to cit. The low top speed hurts as well. An overall sucky experience that needs across the board change. Boise -- when WG poisoned the meta by flooding it with CVs, I think a lot of people stopped playing this and NdJ, which are gems. But in the current meta they can't get unspotted, which means an early death. What they and Helena needs are another 2 kms of range. 13.6 range is absurd considering that T7 is uptiered to T9 all the time now. -
WG has added so many ridiculous griefer gimmicks to the game, their software framework can't handle them all.

A division of Schlieffen is a nightmare.
SodaBubbles replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Yup. I see Schlieffens on my team and my heart sinks. 95% of the time it's the first ship killed because the player charges in to see those secondaries at work. Mostly I consider them food items, annoying but not dangerous. The really scary BBs are Krem, Republique, and Yammy. Sometimes I cannot understand why I dont see Republiques more often. -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
SodaBubbles replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Just want to take a moment and thank the devs for giving us double CV matches with subs! What genius MM arrangement! Ecstasy! Why, it is such a blast to be uptiered into that too! Man, what a pleasure you guys have made this game, knowing the match is going to be utter garbage and then we'll lose because, well, you don't stop crappy players from going up in CVs because why be intelligent? Thanks! Totally justified my decision not to spend a cent on this game. -
Biggest complaint about the new German BB line
SodaBubbles replied to The_Chiv's topic in General Discussion
The gun performance isn't really the issue. For me... They don't have the turtle back citadel so they are easy to cit. The range of the guns even after you get the upgrades is meh. -
Carnot for sure. Its high speed an excellent AP give it a "wheeeee! fun!" feeling that Tulsa can't compete with.
