How do you like new "Silver" Italian DD line?
SodaBubbles replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Also my impression. There is no way I am taking a DD with weak torps, useless smoke, and that astoundingly crappy gun range into Randoms. That poor design has to be deliberate, as you say, to increase the desire to FXP. -
Can You Devs Give Pommern Pref MM Please FFS?
SodaBubbles replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Pom is fine against T10. But now that they have added the Stuporships, time to quit T9 and T10. Get a Massachusetts, Alabama, etc at T8 and go to town. You can still play WOWs at Tiers 5-8. But T10 is now a disaster area, thanks to the broken subs, the broken CVs, and the idiotic superships.- 30 replies

Remove all three, succinct and right. It would be great to play WOWs again.

WG loves those players. They make games go faster and get players back into the queue faster.

Bubba-S review of ranked testseason and the future
SodaBubbles replied to Bubba_S's topic in General Discussion
It's really irrelevant what they do, without filters to ensure that the AFKers, Yolo'ers, and other zombies dont come in. In my last 9 Ranked games 7 have offered players with WR of 42% or below. Not much point in playing garbage loss after garbage loss. Just using it to grind my T9s. That's all it's good for now. -
WG please show CV players some love!
SodaBubbles replied to black_falcon120's topic in General Discussion
Dude, it is easy. WG designed it to be low-skill, so even the worst players can get damage. Of course. Since you ruin the match for others, what do you expect? You're in a broken, unethical mechanic that WG keeps in the game to shorten matches and put players back in the queue. Why are you helping them to degrade gameplay? Happy to hear it. The one good thing about subs. -
That is seriously sick. The utterly broken Nak averages 94K on EU. That means the next tier up is basically twice as strong, whereas Nak is only a third stronger than the Pobeda two tiers down. Broken doesn't even begin to describe this. If you stand in this place, you need to look up with binoculars to see "broken".

Can't detonate. Best AA in the game. Difficult to set on fire. Can strike far from range of other players. Doesn't take damage unless the game is already lost. Near infinite spotting ability. Can continue hitting ships after it is long dead But no, that's not enough.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
SodaBubbles replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Leaving randoms after some parasite in Shokaku hit me for two citadels while I was in Azuma. After experiencing that genius game design I went and did something else. I think all gods that I have never treated another human player in such an unethical, unenjoyable manner. -
Most of us enjoy play at other tiers. Not having to play at T10, which had the worst game play of any tier even before the subs and Stupidships, is not a problem.
-
My god is the message not clear yet? STOP playing T10. Just stop. It's the only message they will hear.

It's a good thing Russian ships aren't broken. So glad I havent entered this pointless waste of time. Look how obsessed WG is with CVs: letting them in this mode which they are totally unsuited for. What kind of mind thinks that is "fun"?
-
Choose to keep one of the test ships permanently
SodaBubbles replied to tigermarnickfelh's topic in General Discussion
No, quite the opposite. We think WOWs is fun too. We just don't think our fun comes at the expense of others' fun. Let me point out something to you: you will never get better playing BBs. Right now you have just 21 games in DDs. Twenty-one. If you want to get good enough to play Hannover well enough to make a significant contribution to victory, you need to put down the BBs and play DDs. Over and over again. I spammed nearly 500 games in Umikaze, until my win rate in it rose to 58% and near the end, I was winning over 70% of the time. It got boring, in fact. But playing low tier DD taught me a lot about how to position, how to read the minimap, how to manage the game flow and how to know where I needed to be, not NOW, but three minutes from NOW. My play improved significantly. In the old Fubuki (man i miss that ship) I ran a respectable 56% and played almost 500 games. I also spammed 700 games in Tirpitz, and eventually, 700 in Fletcher (57%). But I learned almost nothing from playing Tirp, not til I had 2000 games in DDs under my belt. Play DDs. 000s of games. You will improve your BB play massively, and find Hannover a joy. -
Completely different. It's a battlecruiser 3x3 guns, 12" I think, with trolly armor, excellent kiting angles, and great speed.
-
Carnot. She's tons of fun. Her speed is super useful in Randoms, and in Coop useful for certain kinds of tasks, like potential damage.
-
How is player skill level determined? Ship WR? Player WR? PR?
-
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. T10. Again. Actually, I am kinda glad the devs don't know that Tiers 1-9 exist. Otherwise, they might eff them up the way they have T10.
-
Lol. Because there is nothing you can say. Your arguments are completely wrong.
-
Hahahahaha. No. Because of the way AA is set up, your AA is ineffective no matter how many ships cluster around you -- if the CV wants you he will hit you. For god's sake AA is DESIGNED THAT WAY. But that's not important. What is important is that impossible to stay with another ship, because other ships have other tasks, because they are sunk, because caps need to be taken, etc. In a BB you will find yourself alone for ease of griefing by a CV. That too is part of the design. The other things you name are genuine errors. But being alone in a BB is PLAYING THE GAME. It is PLAYING YOUR BB PROPERLY. It is not an error. Once again, you demonstrate how incredibly stupid, unfun, and unethical CVs are. You are shilling for a mechanic that punishes players for playing aggressively and well. So glad I don't have the kind of mind that supports that utter garbage.
-
What a horror show! What kind of mind thinks that is good game play? The answer is clear: T9 and T10 must be avoided as long as Stupidships are in Random matches.
-
There is no counter to CVs, they are designed that way. What you are really saying is that you are willing to accept a griefing mechanic in the game because it griefs you in a way you can tolerate. That's sweet of you, but you also seem to reject the overwhelming opinion of the playerbase and especally, of good players -- contempt for CVs scales with PR, for the most part -- that CVs are very bad for the game. "There have been many arguments made" also applies to you. The arguments against having CVs in the game are numerous and for most players, decisive.

Has there ever been a Poll to remove CV or a random game mode without CV
SodaBubbles replied to AllterEg0's topic in General Discussion
WG has never asked any tough questions about CVs. They are integral to WG's business model of spamming games and getting players back in the queue as quickly as possible. They have claimed in the past that the number 1 complaint players have in exit surveys is queue times. I sincerely doubt that, since I have known 00s of players who have left the game but not one over that reason, but that is what they have said. CVs address this by inflicting pointless arbitrary damage that (1) speeds up games overall and (2) puts players back in the queue quickly by killing them more rapidly. They have no "game" or "fun" purpose for being there, they exist only to make money for WG in this fashion. The rework CVs are even better at it, since any fool can play them and get damage -- they are purely griefing mechanics. Hence there will never be a valid survey of the playerbase by WG on CVs. They have tacitly admitted how much damage CVs do to the game by banning them from several competitive modes, however. Obviously they know what a crap playing environment they have fostered for the original awesome core game. -
Pretty much this. They've clued us in pretty hard -- the introduction of mechanics like subs and CVs aimed specifically at griefers, the large number of incentives to climb the tiers rapidly, the lack of training and tutoring ideas, the destruction of operations, clan battles, and Ranked where one can get some relief from the endless stupid.... ...it's sad, when you think of what the game could have been.
-
It's a beautiful thing, watching the developers destroy their precious coddled T10 with Stupidships. Stop playing T9 and T10. It's the only solution. I had a couple of enjoyable games at T6 and T5 yesterday with no griefer ships. It's still possible to play WOWs at tiers 5-8.

Carnot is good. But not for Ranked.
