I agree, FDG might be the best high tier german BB... best deck armor (80mm on the turrets area). However FDG's turtleback has a flaw.

If you were asking about Pommern, I would have said secondary build... but FDG has usable main battery, thus I would suggest a tank build main battery focused. As someone previously said 406s are the right choice with the improved reload module, there is no point in having 420s on FDG, on GK it might be a justified choice, but on FDG it isn't . Concealment is a must, both captain skill and module... I consider them part of a good tank build. Adrenaline rush to get the most of these fast firing 406s. And yes, FDG is better in kiting slowing down an enemy push.

After a long grind, I finally got this O class cruiser. I wanted, for once, to compliment WG because I'm in love with this ship. Finally WG developed a german BB with a different gameplay ( I know she is a cruiser, but funny enough she is far better than german BBs at what BBs should be good at... hitting hard) which isn't "meh secondaries" and trash main guns. Whenever I open fire with this ship, my smile goes to ear to ear

I agree, she had surely more tools back then... she is not perfect or OP by any means, but she is a breath of fresh air to me inside the german family.

Crash issues haven't been fixed. I can't finish a single battle.

I'd say line gets better with Lepanto onwards. That said, I must tell that while my stats are good with italian BBs, they are frustrating to play with (this is my experience only). It might well be the combination of long reload, small caliber and atrocious accuracy.
