The King is dead, long live the King
totally_potato replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
I am pissed about this, but since its a forum and not discord so I can't type rubbish about it Does anyone know its gimmicks and traits that makes it special apart from the fact that it's another fake and OP Russian ship nobody asked for?- 39 replies

Aigle Its guns are good, its torps are decent, its got both French speed boost and smoke at the cost of saturation, and its freaking survivable with 17k HP base and 19.1 with SE, aka average T8 DD HP.

In short its quite underwhelming. It can't do cap contests, it barely comes out alive against true gunboats becoz the HE does a fair bit of dmg, and heal, its kind of a Elbing-Ragnar hybrid long range cruiser caliber gunboat. I wish this thing had the hydro and the improved pen angles -
also your team might have some shitty aim, so to keep the DD lit for longer to give a team a better chance of killing him, radar duration is a good choice. Your guns are also floaty and it takes time to kill a rapidly maneuvering DD
-
I see what you did there
-
more radar duration means more guarantee of the kill. Also you can support your team more effectively with the radar coz remember, the ship isn't rendered for the the first 6 seconds of radar

The CV direction is sorta right
totally_potato replied to Itwastuesday's topic in General Discussion
Umm US CVs are JoAT CVs, and they have a ton of influence. For a CV player, it's probably not boring? Japanese CVs are def, not boring. Their torpedo planes and torps themselves make them interesting, and the AP DBs require you to attack from the front or back, so its not completely noob effective British CVs are boring, agreed German CVs were the most interesting for me personally But soviet CVs were interesting in terms of mechanics, but the general core of nuking the crap out of everything remains. -
No that's more standard. I am saying, it's not a downgrade on the Worcester Say, for your build, I suggest going with TGG since you will be sort of close in any way, and maybe buffing the radar duration isn't a bad idea, yeah?

well from "reading" what the guy has to say TLDR The German and Russian Cvs were actually reasonable ideas for CV gameplay, and the trend should continue. I have mixed feelings about that -
1A) I do recommend it in cases where the Fire chance is already kind of low, or the dmg output/RoF is so insane that it actually might be worth going. I semi-recommend it on Worcester, as the dmg output on that ship is just insane, and with the whole island humping, closer in nature of it thnx to orbital shells and low range, you will be facing more bow on BBs so direct dmg is more reliable there 1B) Agreed 1C) Its kind of bits of help on the Hindi as it allows you to pen Kremlin, and the 3 Yamato decks (2 of the more numerous and popular T10s), and since the RoF is quite good, you don't get that less of fires, at least in my experience. I still don't recommend it fully, coz lighthouse build is the way Henri pens 50 with IFHE, and its RoF is not bad, and it has reload booster. So semi-recommended on that too
-
19% more effective DPM yes, presuming 19% more shells hit
-
I would suggest going for HE shell dmg instead of IFHE The reason is pretty simple. Your fire chance is not that good, and you lose half of it. And while you do get 37mm of pen, the advantage is against, French, UK and very few American and German BBs as well as the bows and sterns of BBs, while the RoF combined with fire chance makes you a dangerous firestarter and threat against all. So, increase the fire chance to 15% with flags, pyro, and increase the dmg with the Heavy HE and SAP shell skill for 3 points. As a compensator, go with Survivability Expert, to get better heals, and more mitigation power since sub 15km conceal for a CL means you will be shot at a lot. Note: Go for radar duration as 40 sec on 12km radar is very powerful Also Outnumbered is rather effective, thanks to its range and hence kiting potential
-
no Monarch, given the quarter pen HE with normal fire chance, and the short fuse AP on a fast 25 second reload with British conceal and improved heal makes it interesting enough Not a T8 KGV plz. Range buff is good, an AP pen buff is a good choice
-
I would say you have been robbed and have to submit a ticket to WG to give back the effort and time required to fire that salvo with an extra day prem time and 500 dubs
-
hate to break it to you, but it's your fault Next time when buying any product, not just a WG premium, check the reviews on that product before making the decision, instead of coming back here 6 months later and whining like a child Thanking you, Random Internet potato

Warspite secondary build for co-op?
totally_potato replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
Not worth it Warspite's strength are her main battery, so build for a standard BB build -
The simple reason is that its German, and it has torps That's the reason for half of the ppl buying Pommern, Tirpitz, Odin (during the event), etc The ship itself is quite mediocre. In good terms, she is a more cruiser version of Tirpitz, in my terms, she is a shittier Tirpitz The guns themselves are similar to Odin, and with 12 of them and a 26 second reload, your alpha and DPM are quite nice. However, the guns are not particularly good besides the reload for the number of guns. The HE is garbage, the AP has low pen and individual damage, the guns have some really bad firing angles, plus the problem of no overmatch. The dispersion isn't that good either. She has slightly more secondaries than Tirpitz, and the armor is slightly better, but she has very low HP. And like Tirpitz, she doesn't get Hydro. She is one of the fastest BBs of her tier, and her concealment is quite decent. So for pushing in, her only good tool is a high icebreaker and torps (that get knocked out fairly easily), the rest literally scream you not to go all in. You have to stay more at mid range within sec range, as you have more DPM than GK on the secs, and the guns are decent and punchy there, plus juking is easier, and the hydro problem is less prevalent TLDR, if you have Odin and/or Tirpitz (vice versa), don't bother with Brandy
-
its a squishy, more campy focused BB with insane offensive firepower and utility. Tbh, I kinda liked the previous hybrids, as I think they were quite well balanced and unique. This Kear is not exactly balanced tbh. Might pick her up if I feel like it

12v12 CVs only T10 On that rubber duck map we had for an event years ago That would be amazing

uhh What is this thread for? Have I been Jebaited

I mean the dutch are pretty tanky But the tankiest lines when positioned right have the be the British light cruisers (nah just kidding ) Soviet heavy and British heavy cruiser. Soviet heavies have BB levels of armor protection and fair HP pools, with normal fire duration, while the Brits have high deck armor values which is valuable in a kiting scenario. As for premiums, while Alaska was good, there is a tier 8 version of it, known as Congress so get that. Then Atago is pretty tanky for a normal heavy cruiser, Carnot is a tanky supercruiser, Pyotr Bagration is quite tanky too, etc. These are my recommendations
