Simple question: Austin or Plymouth
totally_potato replied to OldPappy's topic in General Discussion
Austin is basically an Atlanta on steroids in Tier 10. However its the only hightier american cruiser without radar What is does have is SAP and HE. And an enhanced RB. So you are a very good DD hunter coz you also have hydro. You also have some special armor You are first of all, exceptionally thin, so BBs overpin you when you are broadside, and unlike manu heavy cruisers and light cruisers, you have 32mm middle section. So with careful angling you hard counter 18 inch guns (Ohio, Thunderer, Kremlin, etc). There are only four ships in the game that hard counter your armor, and they are all japanese. You also have more heals than the average cruiser and it has the American BB healing percentage (0.66% instead of 0.5%). So, for a CL with no smoke, you are very hard to kill, unless you get devstruck out of the water. Ppl keep saying it can't deal with bow on targets, but I think they forgot about HE. And RB. However it is true, that a mispositioned Austin can be killed quite easily, coz low HP and while you are fairly fast at 35 knots, with no smoke or engine boost its feels kind vulnerable. Also I kind felt like a heavy car, while driving that thing but Ig that's just me coz the maneuverability is quite good. Stealth is ok. This ship is balanced coz if caught off guard, you can punish it, unlike Colbert which has french maneuverability and Smolensk which is even thinner and has smoke. Also no radar hurts this ship. And without RB, your reload kinda sucks. Plymouth is a very versatile ship. Idk what ppl have against it, but I quite like it. Its basically an Edinburgh on steroids. 16 guns so a lot of alpha, and while its no Minotaur in reload, its ok considering the amount of shells your throw out. AA is well, kinda meh. Its slower than Mino by two knots but way better TC and slightly better rudder shift. Consumable wise, Mino has super heal, smoke/radar and hydro, while Plymouth has all of it with no options. Although heal is worser, she is tankier in terms of armor, as she has a bit of belt to bounce crap if needed. HP is worser tho. So Plymouth is a different Mino/Super edinburgh. She has insane utility, and her combo of consumable is quite toxic and the reason why Belfast was so OP, and a very high alpha strike with respectable reload. Also not a big difference in detection range, and radar range so there's that Both are quite good ships, but idk what kind of ship you like, what kind of playstyle you are into. For my steel, I went Plymouth first. She is quite nasty in a div. I got the Austin later when it went on sale (well a week or two after) Now its upto you what you like. I can tell you, I have more consistent results in Plymouth than Austin I would say get Plymouth first coz she released first so she has more chance of removal and Austin is relatively new, but they don't have that big of a gap between them. So all and all, its your choice -
well most average CV players just whine on WG for nerfing CVs, but like sheep whine on WG that CV is OP So ofc you'll not say many CVs here. Its fun tho. My team so far ran Kremlin, GK (me or a CV if I feel like playing something else), Petro (sometimes me), DM, Kleber/Z-52/Halland (Played and suggested three of these as default DDs) Works well so far. Only 2 losses.

Idk tbh, coz surprisingly, only had 5 brawls with CV out of what 20? And in two of em, I murdered the CV with kleber torps, or devstruck broadside with GK
-
At close range engagements like here? BBs and a high speed DD In randoms, is that even a question?
-
Idk, I have been having fun, CV or not I took GK and I kinda feel powerful here.

Why Petro gets banned, it's in the tech tree available to all
totally_potato replied to BattleDutchy's topic in General Discussion
Are you fr? Petro is not just good, its OP. There is a good reason to ban it. -
Ok if you don't give money But what was this rant for And ZF-6 is a wonderful no copy pasta ship.

Max Immelmann torps and bomb select keys swapped
totally_potato replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in Archive
That would be a good change to balance CVs -
Not sure what to think now Have to think about the changes

Best Team for brawls? Kremlin GK Petro DM/Hindi Marceau/Smaland/Z-52 If you want CV, go for it instead of one BB

WG hates brawls Don't you get the memo? All those secondary nerfs and making a basic tank build costlier than ever

What CV line to pick? Any good premium CVs?
totally_potato replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
Yes I did say a Unicum has more influence When did I say, I am that unicum? Heck if I was that unicum, I wouldn't have been having this conversation with you, coz I know you are wrong. My point is, don't underestimate this CVs, and they have a lot of influence. And honestly at this point, you have gone too deep into your opinion, so I am not pulling you out of this anymore Happy games -
Yeah

totally_potato replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
point I am trying to make is that even as an average CV player, I have a lot of influence in German CVs compared to something like Japanese USN CVs are very versatile, but that doesn't mean German CVs are trash, and AP weapons have a lot of influence over HE weapons. -
There is a certain project of destroyers that I would love to see in the game at some point. The Type 1945 destroyer. I wanted this ship as the tier ten in the German tech tree, but ig that ain't happening. So let's make it a good DD available for steel. We don't have a single German ship for steel. Also as of current, we don't have a destroyer for steel (that's why I think druid will be for steel). SO this ship could be good for steel. For this case Z-60 is my selected here, but the guys here in the forums can select a better name. So the concept of this DD is to be an all purpose AP focused destroyer with some unique quirks. So she has quite good AP with good penetration, very good alpha, and good AP angles. Her HE has the German 32mm but has a very low fire chance in turn for higher alpha. Her guns are quite good. She also has a good firing range and fair ballistics. However, she doesn’t get smoke and engine boost. She does however get Defensive fire similar to the one found on American destroyers to boost her already decent AA defenses. And in compensation for smoke, she gets a Repair party to boost her already meaty HP pool. Her torpedoes hit fairly hard, have decent range and are very fast. This should allow her to fight enemy BBs and heavy cruisers. She can adapt to a fair amount of situations and assist friendly DDs for the fight for caps. German destroyer Z-60, Tier X Hit points – 21,850. Plating - 19 mm. Main battery - 4x2 128 mm. Firing range - 12.85 km. Maximum HE shell damage – 1,700. Chance to cause fire – 5%. High DPM, DD killing focused ships can outgun you fairly well

Also no point showing these stats, coz its on my NA account which also has stats hidden. And again, I just said it to you -
Jesus, I am talking about GK accuracy with Sec mod 1, flag, MS with the 60% dispersion reduction. That is now the accuracy of the current American secs with full sec build. Hit ratios proved that.
-
Yeah Its pretty hilarious And since dama con is limited, and you have only 4 heals with ERE, this is pretty significant.

That was kinda in response to what Flamu was doing I had a game where I was in California, and well I was pretty crap in it, and he and his chat laughed at me without looking at my other ship's stats like Gneisenau which was sitting at 67% at the time. From that moment on, I sweared to not show my stats. So sorry, can't break that promise of mine. But I do have a 58% WR with 567 battles played, with a PR of 2986. Hope that help and I ain't claiming, I just read these ship stats from WoWs website for my own account. Coz Idc to remember this crap. Just play the game for funsies.
