I have many memories in her. Also she looks good. She just isn't as valuable in a battle. 2. And the tactics you suggested are good. I do them in Shima when I play them. The reason why it works on Shima tho, is that I use the 8km torps a lot more nowadays, and they are fast torps that can hit DDs. Always tend to catch the buggers off guard and guns alpha strike puts them under more pressure. Islands work well on her as well. But on Asashio, you have torps that can only hit BBs. So it works like half of the time when there is no CV. 3. Yes there are many bad DD captains, but but they steer ships like Kitakaze, which I cannot even hope to outgun. Even on something like a Fenyang, you can fight the enemy DD coz good AP, with full gun build, good reload, and 8 guns. On asashio, I just can't do it most of the time. Regardless have fun Exactly why I can't make it work. Its too specialised on killing BBs. That's the reason why I don't particularly like the new German DDs. They are good for gunning down ships on low HP and setting fires. But fighting DDs? Jesus, I would require infinite IQ to beat a good DD player in a gunfight with Assashio So no, I am not dumbing down. The guns have their use. But they are more like a secondary weapon at this point. And the torps, well, it would be good if it could hit cruisers. Its too specialised against BBs. Its situationally very powerful, but the rest of the time its just a kagero with no torps against DDs and cruisers. It was fun to play back in the day, creeping up to their spawn and launching torps behind their backs. But those days are long gone with Cvs and then the problems I mentioned

in a cruiser? You have enough AA to shred their planes since the HP is low coz only four planes In a BB, well you have enough HP and some of them have some strong AA. Gneisenau for eg. In a DD? Well, unless you are in a Z-31, you can pretty much dodge the attack well If your ship has Bad AA then its a weakness of the ship, not the planes
