Idea for new class of ship Command & Control ship which have access to airstrike and ship repair mechanic
totally_potato replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
It was a joke. No offense my dude Sorry to hear about your hands. And yes a class like that will be interesting to be affected by, but will be boring af to for players with no disabilities of any kind. You could play UAD, you control a ships movements, but in a more tactical manner of point and click and you have to think UAD stands for Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts -
Yep it definitely it. However it makes no sense But well in a world where DD 150mm having more pen than cruisers 203mm guns, I have no words Is pen a contributing factor to that? Or fuse time and threshold?

Then suggest me a way to play her properly Coz I just can't make her work Gneisenau is my favourite ship. And so was Scharnhorst, but she has fallen off so much. And to that extent Odin too -

Why Grand Battle is a great idea badly implemented
totally_potato replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
Yep I get a chance to practice by 10,000 IQ torpedo beat skills, and torpedo firing skills Also used it to grind out to the elbing which pumps AP into broadsides well and dumpsters a lo of cruisers and a fair few DD, thnx to that accuracy -
you can buy whatever as you please Shikishima has lower AP pen and number of guns For bigger and better guns, better AA, better rudder and better secs (although that we out the window with the rework) If you are a collector, sure go with Shikishima. If you conservative, there are better options (and why play Shiki, when you can play Yamato for free, coz after the commander rework, both provide the same gameplay, shiki atleast had something different before that made her worth my time) Her guns are definitely quite good, so sure, as a collector, there some worth in her. Her selling point for me, was the 510mm guns combined with the Haragumos stuck on each side (secondaries) for maximum fun. Plus good AA and better rudder was a bonus for me. Oh well, crap happens You can also take Bourgogne. She is basically an Alsace at T10, with better eyes (sigma) and better hands (gun performance in general) and some new toys (Special speed boost, and Main battery reload booster). It can't outright blap ships, but with good positioning, good usage of MBRB, and map awareness, a well played Bourgogne is frightening to deal with. Flambass plays a lot of Bourgogne, you can watch his gameplay visually and get a general jist of how to play her, if my words aren't enough Well, on this page, I have a brief guide for every ship. You can refer to that, coz I don't have much left to say
-
Well I don't play ranked in the weekend, its infuriating

Ok since you didn't answer that, I'll give a brief overview of each ship (it won't be brief coz I am crap at keeping things short) We have Plymouth, Austin, Stalingrad, Bourgogne, Shikishima, FDR and Ragnar Plymouth is a high alpha, High utility ship. She has 16 guns, and they throw out a lot of crap, and 7.5 sec reload for 16 guns is pretty good. She has very good utility. She lacks HE tho. She also have some belt armor to bounce even Bb shells. She is basically an Edinburgh on steroids. Key to play this ship is in a support role for the team. She has good conceal and even torps for good measure. Very good ship and I don't get the hate she got Austin is a unique American CL with insane burst dmg potential. She has HE and SAP. So she can dmg a lot of ships. She has one set of Fletcher torps per side. Unlike other cruisers, let alone Ultra CLs, she has 32mm plating. So she effectively counters 18 inch guns with angling. Only 18.1 inch guns and higher counter that and well, you don't have many of those, do you? She has fair AA defenses. She is one of the only American high tier cruisers without having radar, the other being Anchorage. In turn however she gets a RB. A very good RB that is. 75% cut from reload, and unlimited charges. This ship is pretty much nothing without that RB. She is quick and stealthy too. But its all about the burst she can apply. She is amazing with the team, as you can ambush the enemy so well. A high risk, high reward ship as one would say. Stalingrad is a soviet super cruiser. She has good armor and HP, amazing guns, and good utility, at the cost of maneuverability and conceal. She can tank dmg fairly easily when angled, and deal dmg very well. She has the best cruiser AP in the game, with the best sigma at 2.65. She isn't as OP as it once was, but she is quite nasty to face. HE is kinda meh tbh, but you still blap DDs pretty hard. Her guns have a long reload for a cruiser tho. She is pretty much a BB at this point. She turns like a high speed train tho (which she is coz she is also has a good base speed) and the rudder shift is pretty meh. Her detection is pretty meh. This tells you that you have to play this ship mid to long range, as you don't have torps, you have a high freeboard, and weak broadside. You have Radar, to help your team with DDs. Overall a good ship. Bourgogne is a unique BB. She is fast, fairly well concealed, and is kinda meh in armor. She has the lowest HP pool for a BB at T10, and has 32mm all around, which makes her an HE favourite for German DDs, IFHE Japanese DDs and CLs, all CAs, and BBs, and also overmatchable at all angles from Yamato and other 18.1 inch gun and higher caliber gun armed Bbs. What she does have tho, is insane speed, twelve 15 inch guns with good HE and AP, good reload and sigma, and she also gets the reload booster. She is another flanker like the main line French, but does it better coz the reload is good, speed is amazing, it has RB, and she has good detection. She can easily rush down a lone ship and kill it. She is quite fun while being competitive at the same time. Also good AA. Shikishima is a Yamato with bigger and better guns at the cost of AP pen and number of guns, better secs, better AA, and better Rudder. She was quite fun to meme around with a sec build before the rework. Now she is just a Yamato with different guns. Performance wise, both are very similar, so its better not spend steel on Shiki, unless you want that gun sound so bad FDR is a good CV. She has a lot of planes with stupidly high HP pools. In compensation, he planes are very slow, and they take a while to restore. She throws out a lot of bombs/torpedoes/rockets per attack flight. She is extremely hard to deal with in a CA, and impossible to deal with in a BB. DDs are sorta fine becoz of the rocket rework. Ragnar is a really good gunboating mini-cruiser. Powerful guns with kind of float arcs, Elbing dispersion, big caliber, great reload, and good shell characteristics. The ship gets the smaland toolkit. Its also very survivable with large HP and increased plating of 25mm that shatters small caliber HE rifles. It pays for that with less charges overall of her consumables, rather large profile and sluggish handling, poor concealment, and no torpedoes which means you can get rushed down easily by any other class. The 25mm plate also arms AP shells from DDs and CLs. A fun trick you can use is bring her conceal down, to where its the same as her radar range and activate it the moment you are spotted. It really catches DDs off guard. There is no best here, it depends on what your playstyle is, or what preference you have. If you want an all round good cruiser, Plymouth, if you want a high burst damage ship there is Austin and Bourgogne, if you want a good supercruiser, there is Stalingrad, if you like CVs, there is FDR, and if you like gunboat DDs in general then Ragnar is a sweet pickup. There are some unique playstyles in this list. So get what you like. Hopefully this helps you

Why Grand Battle is a great idea badly implemented

yeah Imagine two hannovers. with an escort fleet chosen by the player. A two Z-52s, one elbing, couple of Prinz Eugen, and an escorting Bismarcks. Or a bit more historic Two Z-23s, 1 Z-44, one Spah kreuzer, a couple of hippers, and Bismarck escort BB That would be sweet. Or a mix of Japanese and German. One hannover, one satsuma, Two Z-23s, two Kageros, 3 Atago, and a Spah kreuzer, vs a completely random fleet of actual players and are more in number. Only controllable ships on the super Bb side is super BBs, with the rest controlled by high level AI That would be an operation side, unique game mode. The current one is ig to test the new super BBs, and how they would fit in the general game -
I do have 55% WR. WIn a lot in some ships Lose a lot in some I get it

Why Grand Battle is a great idea badly implemented
totally_potato replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
If you log into the game the first time after installing the update, then you do have the ships in your port. You have enough intelligence reports for 1 battle in either of them. After that, you have to play a few games to gain the intelligence points. Get it? -

He asked the guy? Why should anyone destroy their own fun for someone elses' fun? I agree tho. CVs should have not been here. Coz the scenario based here is that BBs were still king and opted for instead of CVs. Also I feel like they should have made it a bit more complicated Like maybe asymetrical. Super BBs would OP af. So 2 super BBs, vs the rest of the team which would be what 9 players? Then they could have been given a choice to choose their escorting ships, which would be controlled by high level AI -
idk WG customer service can give a better answer Maybe some linking problem. Idk Then again as far as WG customer service, they don't exactly give a proper answer or satisfactory one at first Or maybe the thing is displayed in correctly. When you last checked you could have 25 hours left, and you probably checked a bit late from the same time yesterday.

Git good Noob When did CVs become low dmg? When did CVs get weak planes? When did their ammo become super expensive? Did I skip 20 years of my life or something?? Hey forumites? Did I miss a devblog? Coz this crap looks unreal

Balancing The Game and Other Ideas
totally_potato replied to Pukovnik7's topic in General Discussion
apparently trying to understand where you are wrong, when you are [edited] experiencing it is = someone tells you the sun is shining, you expect a bite more of an explanation... Don't call that exhausting. Coz at this point you aren't making yourself look cool, or you are making use of the time you are wasting here Get to the point -
True But reaching something like 60%, so that when you are on a losing streak, it doesn't affect your WR that much, is pretty much impossible. Ig 55% isn't tooo bad for an average player like me at all
-
enlighten me then
-
well nowadays you just can't carry the team, or they can't carry you You don't have to care about WR, as long as the rest of the stats are alright. WR depends heavily on how potato your team was, and how much you could carry them. You can't carry a losing potato team every time, can you?

I can't decide between Marceau and Immelmann
totally_potato replied to RenfieldSyndrome's topic in General Discussion
oh yeah nvm. That's midway. I am so trash, I just played a match in Haku and I forgot I meant they carry only 2 in a super narrow spread, which can be avoided, while MvR spread is not too wide, not too narrow Somehow confused Midway and Haku torps KEKW
