  1. Ragnar now has soviet conceal for better gun performance. Can't say whether its German heavy DD disp, I think its worse than that, but its similar. Detectability range by sea increased from 8.5 to 9.5 km. Other detectability ranges were changed accordingly Main battery reload time reduced from 3.5 to 3s; Changed the accuracy settings of the main battery guns - shell dispersion at all distances will be lower;

you forgot to mention the good AP of Eugen and for that matter, German 203mm guns in general

  4. Short note - Vampire II better than Minitaur. Don't even ask. Get Vampire II Long note (here we go again) - Vampire II is basically a Haida at T10. All the commonwealth gimmicks compared to its British counterpart. Half the number of torps, better gun power, longer range but slightly shorter duration hydro and Creeping smoke instead of short burst smoke, and better concealment. So its a DD hunter/cap contester. It has good gunpower with an amazing RoF, okish range, and fair alpha strike, and in general good gun handling. So it can deal with a rushing or smoke sitting broadside on DD pretty damn quickly. It has pretty average HE (19mm pen so only good for penetrating the average DD and Ultra CL plating and superstructure of ships in general, pretty low alpha per shell, and average fire chance) and good AP (bad pen, DM pen angles, and average damage). 5km hydro and creeping smoke with similar durations, with pretty good smoke firing penalty so good smoke hydro cap contesting DD, as well as damage farmer. The torps are there for striking unsuspecting BBs. Unlike Daring she has no heal and also her HP is far from amazing. Good conceal and maneuverability. She is a pretty good DD for what she is. But only Ohio is worth her share of RP, no other ship is. Vampire would have been better as a steel ship. So she is a cap contesting ship and its good at what it does and good for the team. Druid is the true Minitaur. She has four 5 inch guns. They aren't your typical 5 inch guns tho. They are AP machine guns. Amazing reload, and they fire AP only, like Minotaur (and British CLs for that matter). Her AP has the improved pen angles like Minotaur, but she also has good pen as well, which is, as WG would say, atypical of her type. She also has all of her firepower at the front. So she can fire half a minotaur's DPM from a DD, from the front, which means she also represents a small profile. That makes her a good smoke farmer as well as a good island peeker. Her pen is good enough that you cit a fair few cruisers at shorter ranges. So she is a good damage farmer, as well a nightmare for CLs and caught off guard DDs. She also has a large amount of HP at 28.5k with SE. She also carries her standard British DD tool kit. Her AA is also fairly decent at best. And that's where the sunshine ends. She has worser detection than the Elbing which is practically a CL. She fires only AP. And while that AP is very well improved, the lack of HE means no fires, and improved ricochet angles or not, the damage significantly falls of if the target turns away. And while AP on superstructure works well, unlike Elbing, which has high AP alpha and accuracy, Druid does not. It relies on RoF for that. So this thing can be countered very well. Also 4 guns can make the disp a lil wonky. She also has absolutely no torps. Now you would expect amazing AA in return like Friesland, but that ain't happening with this ship. Its decent at best. Her maneuverability is also fairly bad, although that is mitigated by hydro. Also having all your firepower at the front is a blessing and a curse. If a DD catches you showing that big flat [edited]of yours, they are gonna kick it hard. Also having both turrets close to each other can lead to both of them breaking together, and besides that, only 2 turrets with 4 guns for her full firepower. So if you even lose one turret, that's half your DPM lost. Its a balanced DD, and is occasionally fun with the rest of the time being boring (I got the thing recently and over 25 games, its still boring af) If you want to play an AP DD, play Elbing or Daring ffs. So Druid (dread) is a smoke farmer, and a machine gun that requires good positioning and good targets to do well. And it doesn't do the whole DD thing well. So your choice is Pro Vampire which contests caps well, and good enough gunpower to suck your blood and drink it on the spot, or the Chad Minitaur, an AP machine gun with the British toolkit. I would say for that price Vampire II is just better but the ultimate choice is yours so there you go

    best DD hunter

The higher tier Germans coz their stealth is pretty good. Z-23 may have worser stealth than other DDs at that tier, but in her MM spread there are several DDs she out spots, and 6.2km is good enough that she'll go dark. Going deep into the enemy team tho, that's a mistake on all ships, let alone DD hunters. If you find a DD and want to overwhelm them utterly, then British DDs and American DDs aren't that bad (provided they are fairly close, like 6km away coz American arcs are kinda orbital, they won the space race for a reason you see). A small tip tho. You can only overwhelm Potato DD players in a 1v1 gunfight, so don't expect utter dumpstering every time. Yeah they are pretty good. They don't have that great stealth at those tiers, but they are good gunboats. Icarus is an alright ship at its tier, and Jervis is pretty good at her tier, and there aren't many good DDs at that tier, so Jervis is definitely good. And playing them well can give you a lot of fun coz your tool kit is good, your ship is pretty good, and provided you aren't a potato, you'll have a bit of fun too. The German DDs at T5-7 are ok ig. The T5 is way better than it once was. The T6 is a ship you can play in multiple ways with multiple configurations and the two gun choices it has, will ultimately lead to the split where you have to make the choice. Maass was an ok ship, but they are nerfing it for some reason (Ig WG's dev team have drank a bit too much vodka). Personally tho, the German DDs especially since their HE buff, have been fun and my best performing DDs, for me. Both the heavy and non-heavy line (heavy line coz it just came out mostly).

    best DD hunter

well it depends on the situation. If I want to win against DDs in a cap and then dominate that cap, hydro DD is the best DD, and overall German DDs are the best hydro DDs in the game. They have good gunpower to fight DDs (now the HE does relatively lower dmg but high pen so good effective dmg against BBs and Cruisers, but if you find a broadside DD, shoot AP at it and you dmg goes up significantly, although HE is still fine, for gun boating ships). They have large HPs for their tier (except of Z-52, becoz WG apparently forgot that in a tier with DDs going upto 30k HP, 23.5k is jackshit, when combined with the fact that it has no heal but regardless, the HP is sufficient enough if you play well), relatively good mobility, and good torp coverage at mid ranges coz the torps are quite fast, and have good reload times with decent range, but relatively low damage and low number (8 torps at T10). They are hybrids and you want to utilise them as such. But when it comes to fighting DDs, especially for caps, there are few DDs better at doing that that ze Germans. And providing you manage to have atleast half your HP by the end half of the game, you can hunt DDs down fairly well. If I want to directly burst damage dumpster that DD then French is my choice. They are high speed open water "giving a F**k" gunships. They have good gun performance backed up by superiority complex shitting consumable that halves your reload for 15 seconds. You also have shiny torpedoes that have good speed, very good damage, very high speed, but high concealment, and very low reach at 8km so they are relatively useless. They are freaking fast af. The tiers 2-7 are quite sluggish o their own but their hyperdrive consumable does get them out to some good speed. The T8-10 are fast on their own and with hyperdrive consumable you might beat han solo's record of doing the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. So they can rush down DDs, providing those DDs have already committed and have been spotted (so that you know where he is). Then you can rush him down and hand deliver him some fiery croissant. But if you are trying to hunt the average DD who has a brain, and is running away from you, he will see you first every time, and he can have all kind of "surprise mf" gifts for you. Also to mention that without the superiority complex shitting consumable the DPM is pretty bad (its alpha strike is pretty nice tho), and other ships with high RoF and/or good torps can beat you, or just avoid you completely. So its decent at DD hunting, but not amazing.

    best DD hunter

Apart from the torpboats, you can DD hunt in pretty much every other DD. But the better ones are:- Russian DDs, German main DD line (the higher tier ones), the Daring in the british tech tree, French DDs, the Japanese higher tier gunboat split. Now for DD hunting the French and Russians are decent becoz they are pretty quick, and their guns are good, and they have fair amount of HP and protection. However they are only placed decent coz they are visible from the moon. SO you can avoid them if as the prey, you have a brain. For German DDs they ambush DDs more than downright hunt them down. Their stealth is way lower than the two lines mentioned above. They aren't as fast but they are decently quick. They have hydro which is a pretty effective tool in hunting down DDs. RL can be pretty useful on German DDs if you want to max out their DPM and DD hunting capabilities. SO marked at great. The british ships are also good at hunting DDs, coz hydro although its much shorter ranged and self defensive. The guns are good on all of them, so they hold themselves in a gunfight pretty damn well. Daring is the DD hunter of them all tho, coz its guns are rapid firing and it has heal so it trades better. Ofc there is Vampire 2. Also marked at great at T10, but good, the tiers lower than that. The japanese gunboats (except Haru) are good and effective DD hunters, coz they aren't that sluggish and theirs guns are just brutal, plus their speed maxed out, can keep up with some of the gunboats even. SO meh at T10, but good at T8-9. Although the T5-7 are torpboats.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

right The above mentioned WG statement you quoted was half explained (no FAQs even). Its more a question that it can, it doesn't say it will. Also the limits are expected, they aren't guaranteed. So that isn't speculation that is fact, as stated by WG here (unintentionally or intentionally idk that). yeah take your time. No need to waste your life on one *edited* in a corner of the internet, no one cares about anyways. Removed insult. Arty_McFly

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

I ain't the arguer here I am the audience here So it would take a bit of hard work to prove it, if I even bothered. Why should I suffer through 50 games of MM trend, just for a guy in the forums who doesn't give a crap, when its already obvious.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

I still personally think MM should be +1 and -1. Its way more balanced imo. And it makes way more sense from an arcade perspective.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

I think with the fair number of discussions I had with this guy, I have come to the same conclusion. When you give proof, he labels them as not proof. Oh well. There is a saying in children stories, "You can take a ****** to a river, you can't make him drink".

Which flags do you buy with credits?

try to be conservative with your flags. The flags I tend to buy are det flags, fire flags, heal flags and consumable reload. The rest I don't usually take, although I have a fair amount fire flags, and hydro flags for ships like Z-52. I don't buy them that often. But I can buy them if I want. Plus containers can yield flags too.

    Bottom tier

Slow down bud Jeez ppl go fast MM have a bit of mechanics and RNG behind it like every other feature in this game. You have blowouts? Take a break, do something useful, focus on your job (if you have one), play another game, relax. No need to hand over 72 ships you probably worked hard for or paid for with your hard earned money. Plus, the game can get better. I ain't guarentting anything, and the chance is pretty damn low, but the game can get better at some point. You can come back then and directly start with the 72 ships you had.

    so i finally unlocked yamato

Again over exaggerated statement to ridiculousness. Your aim must be crap and the game is trying to compensate for your shitty aim Jokes aside, the Yamato horizontal dispersion is pretty respectable, but its vertical dispersion is worser than other ships. So can lead to trolly shots, but as consistently bad as a Kremlin. Yeah you probably haven't played that ship.

    so i finally unlocked yamato

Its still a good pick for comp. Saw a lot of it in KoTS. I give a crap about WR tbh. I find it misleading. Vermont is slower than yamato and has 10 seconds more reload, and it can't overmatch BBs. Thunderer is a gun platform that is squishy at all ranges, coz if a Thunderer gets focused, it dies fast. Republique has only 8 guns and her dispersion can be " like English teeth most of the times which leads to a lot of damage output loss". HE doesn't overmatch ships, and yes it does good dmg, but can it HE cit a BB, or deal heavy dmg in 1 go relatively to AP that overmatches them?? And that last statement made absolutely no sense. You still doubt you are the reason the ship looks bad?

    Premium t7 heavy cruiser

    they are heavy cruisers
  22. Initially she didn't interest me. I thought to myself "1. I already have the perfect hybrid experience with Ise, why bother with Tone, and 2. I don't want to spend money on this game. I might buy D7P for a good captain trainer for the Dutch but that's about it". But then the more I looked at replays and streamers play it, the more I realised that she could potentially be the Swiss knife of cruisers. So I am planning to buy her someday, if I feel like it (other irl stuff to deal with and better things irl to buy). So is she worth the buy?? Also which is the best captain build for her Currently have this planned:- Any thoughts are appreciated (as long as their decent to read).

ST 0.10.6, changes to test ships (DB 178)

Haarlem has 60 second fires and D7P does not. Haarlem is classified as a super/large cruiser so hence she is better protected. Comparing a CL's armor to a CA is not ideal in the first place, let alone SC (unless that CL is a Nevsky). Also more frequent use of airstrikes, more DPM, more mobility, better stealth, etc. Calling her a worser Harlem is stretching the line. The booty of D7P is armored so a more efficient kiter. The german 150mm gun DDs can gun her down, but you have to be a bit of an idiot for that to happen. Top speed can go upto 36.3 knots. Also Edinburgh gets cit a lot if you hit the right spot that isn't that hard to hit tbh. Also D7P has a ton of layered armor, so citadelling her at longer ranges will be tricky which already suggests her playstyle Airstrike is a good utility tool especially on caps, as you can flush out enemy DDs fairly well. She offers firepower and area denial to her team so idk what you are on about. I don't think you have seen the Airstrike in action hence the whole keep buffing bs. 4 dutch cruisers are out of NDA, and CCs are showing them on stream so go check em out. The flaw was never the range, but the the time it took for the bombs to drop. Also " in De Zeven case that is about 2km of detection range and I suspect the reason it was buffed was because the air strike is called and immediate the target pushes ahead, detects her and sinks her if he doesn't run away" is again pretty hilarious. There is no indicator that you being airstruck, so just pushing up and killing the cruiser with a 9.3km conceal is utter bs, coz the rest of her team also has to be considered. Not to mention that when she is kiting and firing she is theoretically a tough one to deal with coz armored booty. The airstrikes are for area denial and island campers. And if you think they need 17km range to be effective, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The D7P is a support cruiser at mid range. She isn't meant to take on the enemy fleet. She is meant to support allies with DPM and frequent airstrike attacks. She can also push into a cap with hydro if necessary.

    Rework ramming mechanics

I think the ramming mechanics are mostly fine. I do agree that tonnage has to be taken into consideration too, but still, I see it as completely fine. Rams can define a game at times and the way it is designed, its balanced, which is good for the arcade game WoW primarily is.
