    it gets 9.9km with the full build and that is a miniscule difference in the grand scheme of things They removed the dispersion mod, as Zao already has DD dispersion on her guns, plus her HE shells have very good alpha and fire chance. Plus, the DPM is alright. The guns were never the main issue of Zao, they were actually one of her main strengths. Zao can already pen 34mm of armor, so idk what this meant, "And finally with so many ships having more than 32mm of armor, Zao needs either a buff in fire chance or better HE penetration." The main problems with Zao were, poor firing angles combined with a low HP pool. Poor firing angles can be managed with timing in a cruiser as maneuverable as Zao, but that combined with low HP makes it questionable to play. Marco Polo SAP does 10% dmg to DDs, so its better than AP, but its no HE that it will nuke them. Sigma seems justified, altho a bit of a concealment buff would be appreciated. T9 Roma after all.

    @MrConway @Crysantos @YabbaCoe So will the homing torps still do cit damage, or with the second ping just home the torps in?

    some interesting changes the underwater detection part and the detection abusing trick are rather good and reliving changes As for the homing torps, I hate the entire concept. But now, atleast it won't do cit dmg. And maneuverability nerf is good. And the fact you addressed the cruiser and DD ping problem is nice. Now for these new Magnetic torps. So you can reduce their detection by 25% with first ping? That counters vigilance on BBs that don't have hydro. And 2nd ping increases damage but if it hit the torp protection. And there is no homing? So its kind of like HE and AP? HE is quite reliable and consistent, and AP in the right circumstances can slap broadsides, but otherwise its not that good. Here homing torps are very consistent torps but the dmg is kinda low, while magnetic torps slap when hitting the torp belt with double ping, and they still have a base higher dmg than the homers but they can't home left or right but can home up and down. I like this dynamic. Looks interesting on paper.

    Oh yes What a big nerf. 0.5 second reload nerf to Russia's finest stalinium ship. Omg it will be balanced now. Wow such a big nerf, so big that we can't even complain!!! Petropavlovsk will be balanced now for sure, no questions

    Balance changes X ZAŌ: Number of Hit points increased from 40,800 to 42,800. Still less HP than Nevsky. And a 2k buff isn't changing much. I expected like a 5k HP buff, oh well. its 47.3k with SE, which is nice ig. X FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT: Number of hitpoints on Attack aircraft reduced from 3,200 to 3,040; Number of hitpoints on Dive Bombers reduced from 3,710 to 3,525; Number of hitpoints on Torpedo Bombers reduced from 3,690 to 3,505. much needed nerf for FDR. Let's see how it turns out X STALINGRAD: Main Battery Reload Time increased from 20 to 21 s. Yo stalin is fine as it is, stop nerfing it X PETROPAVLOVSK: Main Battery Reload Time increased from 13.5 to 14 s. Yeah about that V KOTOVSKY: Main Battery Reload Time decreased from 10 to 9.5 s. nice. Koto wasn't that strong anyway IX BUFFALO: Main Battery Reload Time decreased from 12 to 11.5 s. Huh, that does make the damage output of the Buffalo a bit better. Nice VII SINOP: Maximum AP Shell Damage decreased from 12,950 to 12,500 won't exactly say it was needed, but Sinop is a strong ship, so acceptable IX Z-44: Detectability Range by Sea decreased from 7.8 to 7.5 km. Other detectability ranges were changed accordingly. X YUEYANG: Torpedo tubes reload time reduced from 139 to 129 s. About time these happened YY torp reload was abysmal, so now it should be a bit more comfortable to use Z-44 had unnecessary concealment, so buffing it helps. Now its 5.9km conceal IX MARCO POLO: Sigma parameter increased from 1.8 to 1.9. much needed buff for Marco. And Verdi is getting a nerf on sigma. So this a longer range version, and Verdi is a closer range version? Interesting VIII MONARCH: Main Battery firing Range increased from 17,0 to 17,5 km; Maximum firing Range of Main Battery guns with "Gun Fire control system" mounted increased from 18.7 to 19.2 km. Honestly, didn't expect this buff, but much needed on Monarch (now can you kindly buff my precious bismarck please?) Some real nice changes here. WG moving in the right direction

    yo I like it too I mean, very good torps from Shima, hard hitting guns with good reload, good overall survivability and conceal. Its quite the workhorse. Ppl don't like her coz she is overpriced, not coz the ship is bad. Ig ppl expect something like Smaland or Petro levels of OP crap for 2 mil free XP

    Agreed. Hayate is quite the hybrid. Its overpriced af but the ship itself isn't bad. I actually quite like that ship. A Shima that can gunbote? Sign me up. While the concealment and handling is worse than Shima, its quite alright compared to all DDs. Shima needs the extra agility coz she is squishy and her guns aren't very high response. As for Druid vs Vampire 2. The latter is better but the former is def more unique. Druid is starting to grow on me tbvh, so yeah

    Friesland/Groningen fulfill this role "I don’t like damage farming, I prefer DD hunting, capping and taking out cruicial targets", as well as the Bristish DDs, and Vampire 2 takes a it a bit further. She is up there with Z-52 as one of the top cap contesters. And there are a ton of RB ships so try picking those up instead of free XP ships

    Ragnar is kind of a bigger Smaland that's actually quite well balanced. Really good guns, Smaland toolkit and reinforced plating but no torps and high detection. Its quite a good pick for steel As for Plymouth, its this high alpha, utility cruiser. Its got all of the Minotaur's consumable choices but in separate slots (even radar), and, torps and 16 guns with decent RoF. I actually think that while its not the most unique ship, its nice to pick up for ranked battles, with occasional mercenaries, etc. Its really good around objectives, supporting friendly DDs, and I quite enjoy it

    Best Use of 18 Skill Points on IJN and EU DD's

    imo, this is the first 18 points you want to take on any torp boat DD, not just IJN or EU. As for the rest, it depends on what you want. For EU, i'd suggest SI for extra heal and DFAA, for IJN, you could take, main battery reload to reinforce your gunpower, as the guns hit hard, or you could go GtG and Pyro (mostly for subs and 10% fire chance ez mode)

  23. tbh, the only radar I fear is Nevsky radar in a DD. For DDs I do play Elbing a ton, and I murder likes of DMs worcesters, jebait Soviet heavy cruiser radar, etc. But Moskva and Nevsky are some of the best radar ships in the game, and those two I do fear. Even tho a Moskva is rather easy to kill, Nevsky not so much
