Not the best Neptune but advice would be: At start wait a while - you dont want to be plane spotted while all the red-BBs are looking for their first target to shoot at. Cross-map BB sniping always catches me out early game. You need to find a spot to park in thats going to give you a good minute of firing time, be paitent. The conditions of that spot would be: 1.) What is the escape plan? - e.g. you dont want to turn broadside infront of BB to get away. 2.) Someone else has line of sight. 3.) Not in DD invested waters. After some daka make your getaway and wait for next chance. You need to survive to late game where you can really shine as there will be fewer things spotting and you can be more sneaky.

Trouble with z44 is its hopeless against other DD's, it will struggle against T7's in a gunfight. I find it best to not fire all the torps in one go instead firing one salvo every 30secs or so, that way you have a better chance at starting perma-floods. Kind of relaxing to play as you are not going to be knifefighting anything & generally staying out of trouble. I play Yūgumo the same way as z44 - using torp-reload instead of smoke to allow better torp spam & get much better results due to the high damage of the torps.

Done some 700 battles in the z44 - I kind of like it but its very hard work. If you get in a knife fight with another DD you will loose. Its best suited for torp spam but with low damage torps & more ships running hydro its hit and miss. Badly outclassed in the T9/10/11 battles. You can put 10 torps into a T11 BB and it will survive.

Hopelessly bad BB player & first time poster here... Slava seems to have zero ability to dodge submarine torps - and there are a lot of subs around. Guns are nice to shoot but have 33sec reload time. Wish I spent the Research points on another DD & starting another grind.
