Maybe it's time to stop blaming Subs and CV's on passive gameplay.

I do read it and it usually makes no sense because it doesn't fit. Explain what benefit playing passive against CV's and Subs gives? -

The problem I see is people say CV's and Subs create passive play but nobody ever explains why because it's BS in a way. What it's done is create this false sense of a need to play passive - there is actually no detailed explanation as to why you need to play passive versus subs and CV's. Actually in fact playing passive versus the current iteration of subs and CV's will get you killed extremely easy. Like I have explained before, a submarine can move from his spawn to the opposite side of the map without those at the back ever knowing it until it is too late. All a sub or CV needs to do is decide to focus you because your AA or Depth Charges alone aren't going to stop them before they sink you. You are better off moving up with the others and creating a net of depth charges and/or AA fire. Also I see Youtubers telling people to play passive against subs and CV's but if you look they are actually doing the exact opposite and those that are taking that advice are the ones on the opposite side in these videos that are getting hammered. In almost every game I've been in where the team plays passive we lose. Also how do you expect to cap when you are sitting at the back? Oh I know - you leave it up to the DD's and if they don't they get yelled at by those BB's sitting in the back. BB's that just sit at the back are usually just lazy and don't want to be bothered with engaging other ships and just want the DD's to cap. When you have teams where the DD's move up, followed by the Cruisers giving them support, then the BB's behind them giving both types support wins the game because they are working together. CV's and Subs will get to you know matter what you do so how is playing passive supposed to mitigate that? -

Here is a question to everyone then. What is your definition of passive playing and please explain? -

No I understand it just fine. What's your next argument? -
I can't understand what is so difficult to comprehend with this mode. I mean the amount of teams I have who just hang out at the outer circle and just watch the enemy not only take the circles but then push our team back. Even if our team starts to come back in kills it's too late because you won't beat the points. What is so hard to understand with this mode? I find it dumb to be honest but that's not the point.

This is more of a submarine problem overall than a play style one. You can be as aggressive or passive as you want but it doesn't make a difference as really it's down to just how bad the submarine player is that will determine victory over it. -

No because he could have killed you no matter what you were doing. You play as passive as you like but you just give him an even easier target. -

Had you stayed passive that DD you killed could have gone and helped his team win anyway. This had nothing to do with passive play - this was just the poor mechanics of submarines. Playing passive could have also allowed that submarine to torp you to death without you knowing it until it was too late. -

With regards to subs and CV's I have to disagree and here is why. Submarines: Let's say you sit in the back all passive. Well you can't see a submarine coming and they can move from their spawn and torp you to death before you know it. The best tactic is to not sit in the same spot and be around your teammates who can help you not only shoot it but also depth charge it. CV's: Same tactic goes here as planes can reach you and target you no problem so the best thing is to keep moving and be around your fellow teammates who can contribute their own AA to taking down the planes. Even more so when you are up against the likes of the Eagle and United States. I think there is also a bit of a misconception with regards to what passive play even is. -

I'm not sure but I think there could be this false sense where people believe if they hang in the back the reds will just come at them blindly while they just shoot them until they die. Also if people just sit in the back allow the other team to cap then the battle is lost because of points. -

I actually do practice what I preach and as far as everything else you said you are spot on. I rarely finish near the bottom on losses so I do things right but I also make mistakes. What I can't help is having games with no chance of winning no matter what I do. Very hard for one person to be the cause of a loss unless they are the only one left and just throw the game so someone else just throwing your stats at you is just nonsense and proves nothing. I don't just yolo ahead for example but I do get caught out sometimes which happens to everyone. -

Why does no passive play have to equal aggressive? If you just want to stay alive in battles but don't care about winning then why not stay in Coop? Unicums suggest playing passive against subs and CV's but spuds don't understand what that involves. They think the moment a sub or CV is in the game head for the back of the map. -

Their target audience are the endless supply of one off suckers that make one purchase of whatever is new at the time and then moves on to another game or infests the MM with their god awful playing. -

I have Hayate and I built it for torps as you can have up to 20 in the water at one time. You are too big a target to go gunboat. -

The bottom line is either their client is broken and didn't keep the right amount of Eggs up or Wargaming just can't keep track of their own event. It's mind boggingly sad to be honest. -
Easter Egg Hunt Results Round TWO
The_Angry_Admiral replied to T3000UK's topic in General Discussion
Well they can't even follow their own game rules because mine did reset to zero then went back to some even higher number. Also I had over 400 when the 1st round ended but they claimed to have had something different. It's an absolute BS way to do an event.
