  1. The idea I'm throwing out is a small one that changes virtually nothing to those that already have good stats or are simply keen on maintaining a history of their performance while adding value to those that want to compete or push themselves in a particular season. You should even be able to turn it off if you want and only show life-time stats if you so wish. All it would do is add a tab under what ever matchmodes it's introduced where you can select either "lifetime-stats" or "Season XYZ stats". If this is done under ranked you'd also see what rank that person was in when achieving those stats, as ostensibly at least gold is harder to grind in than bronze and what rank they are in now. This would be great because you could mess around and not take the game seriously one season and then you could tryhard the next. I know some players are consistent and like consistency, but that would still be available to you. It's just that this would add options for the rest of us. Almost every modern game with a stat interface that includes comprehensive information like damage, kdr, and so on has Seasons today from Starcraft 2 to Rocket League to Fortnite. Whether "hardcore" like SC2 or casual like Fortnite. It could also be a good idea for someone that in the past has performed very consistently but doesn't feel the need to stay competitive anymore. They would always have their past seasons. We could even call all the time before "Season 1" "Season 0!" and could then relax and start playing more casually/less seriously while still being able to stay proud of, show off and possibly in the future get recruited based on their past merits. ______ When it comes the details I think this should be an option for all modes. Though I'd be okay if it only was available for just ranked or just random. Here's a visual guide of how I envision the tabs to be like: Its from a fortnite site. I don't even play the game but its super clear and a great solution that just adds to the game while taking away nothing from those who are more into lifetime stats.
  2. Why aren't they updating these APIs, seriously? Sites like WoWs-stats and Proships.ru are staples of the community, people who do things for free and provide a service that would otherwise cost them thousands of dollars. But they suffer cause of this. Acc to Wowstats the API hasnt been updated since 2017
  3. That's all fine and dandy. Why are you being negative? Personally I don't have the time or energy to grind boats on two accounts. This idea literally takes nothing away from anything you've said. I kinda understand how it feels to be WG now and come up with something. People just don't like change maybe? ANyway Im gonna wait a bit and see what other replies come in.
  4. Alrighty! Don't mess around in your games boys! ^^ Anyway I'm sure you'd be pleased to know that as I often suicide ram with carriers or yolo inbetween two lines of battleships with a Yoshino when Im bored, this season thing would motivate me to at least for some periods of time consistently not mess around.
  5. Well, if you don't this clearly doesn't affect you as you don't look at your current stats anyway. So its all good I guess. That people play seriously or that people mess around, try meme strats and sometimes maybe play drunk or while casually watching a movie? I think both are absolutely legitimate things to do in a game!

I don't get the WG strategy behind superships

The strategy is that the game is like a decade old and they have ran out of ships for the other classes to sell and want to put up an other tier for everyone to grind/get hyped over/Have to compete with each other over. All other arguments are invalid/nonsense. :) Or at best secondary.
  7. Hi! I never pick this skill myself because it feels like losing some portion of the game, the cat and mouse aspect of it that is. But I do despise it when I'm playing a destroyer or now a submarine and I manage to achieve that complete tactical surprise of some epic flank, only for the enemy to be miraculously aware of me as I approach them. Googled at a bit and saw this old thread: with over 85% of people voting against it. I'm curious to why it was implemented, instead of say just nerfing the destroyers a bit or something . Secondly, is there anything we could do to make up a more soft-counter to being a flanked that's not so "in your face". That's not basically a constant wallhack. The Torpedo lookout equipment is a thing that works to lower the threat of a destroyer without revealing its position. Perhaps it should be made into a commander skill instead of taking up that most important of equipment slots?
  8. Maybe Im different. Id rather have 2 CVs facing me as a lone DD than 2 ships with Radar and RPF respectively. But all I see is "its balanced" or "other things are worse" so frankly I regret even making this thread. Ill just logout now...
  9. Interestingly enough it seems that a design decision that once apparently was nearly universally hated has now grown on people. Maybe we're all just whiny little C's who take a long time to adapt to these brilliant updates that WG puts out, afterall, people keep playing! But regardless, I think that most of you seem to misunderstand the post. I never asked if this was a "balanced" skill. I'm sure it is. Let me instead ask you directly. Would you rather want a battle of two equal DD's in the scenario you describe to happen with or without anyone (or both) having RPF? I personally, to keep the excitement of the "wow" or "surprise factor" alive would rather want it without. Please tell me why (if) you disagree (or agree maybe?) , thank yoU! :) And do add if you can find any alternatives to this skill that would satisfy both camps!

    What keeps you playing WoWS?

Mate you can't just not only quote parts of a post but parts of a sentence and think that you have a point when you reply. The full sentence was "hardcore modes". So they have "simulation modes" without a minimap, without any kind of aides which intrinsically create a sense of order. Absent this communication is the only thing to create a semblance of order out of that chaos of blind shooting at blind. But because it, just like WoW/WoT attracts everyone you end up having casuals playing hardcore modes. A baffling combination.
  11. So if there's no surprise, why even have RPF?
  12. Planes aren't the same thing. You have to be detected to be spotted by planes. My favourite map is actually Ocean and if they made more maps like this with more open areas then that would negate the CVs advantage while helping DDs. But on any map the planes first have to find you. And of course you do have AA, so you're certainly not permanently spotted once the planes are shot down.
  13. You don't need to draw things for me mate. I was just mentioning it as an example. It's just as bad for me when there is no surprise and two DDs are facing each other. What actually prompted me to write this post was me escaping with a submarine from two DDs, leaving "maximum depth" and being picked up by the RPF. That just ruined the whole experience of escaping for me. It didn't even make a big difference, but the fact that moment which was supposed to feel like so awesome, having basically lost two pursuers(!!!) just meant nothing because of a constantly present passive skill. It's sad really. ________ Let me turn this around, what do you like about the RPF? Why is it enjoyable to say have RPF on a destroyer to hunt for other destroyers? Where's the hunt if the moment you break away from the fleet you know a location already? Or as a cruiser. Imagine you've been targeted by a DD, you pop your radar and he's too far away. You're supposed to have lost them! But no, your RPF tells you where he is anyway... It just ruins the fun for me lol...
  14. Well I don't know. I wouldn't mind a system with no detection at all, that's how it works in War Thunder. But that also means a kill on a DD is far less worth than on a cruiser and you essentially have swarms of small ships protecting big ships. But this is a different, more arcade-like game. And I'm not saying that the skill isn't balanced or that everyone can't take it. I just feels it completely ruins the mechanics that are in place. It reminds me of watching this youtube video of two hackers with wallhacks playing against each other. That's basically the result of two DD-killer-DDs with RPF fighting. It's silly. :P Just silly...

    What keeps you playing WoWS?

It's basically a very good game ruined by microtransactions/it being F2P and attempts to appease every type of audience so as to keep as many as possible without completely alienating any group. The game could be SO much better with true matchmaking, no P2W flag / premium ship system, no RPF/wallhack radar and so on. I even like the Subs and I am a main CV player but the constant need to keep the game "fresh" to sell more "crap" obviously means neither we, nor I imagine the developers, get to be as proud of the content as could be. This can be compared to War Thunder, an even better game that suffers even more from an endless need to grind, content that just doesn't work (like modern missiles) and "hardcore" modes with a community that barely communicates. It's sad really, I'd pay 70 USD for a P2P stabile WoWs game with a maximum of 2 updates per year that are super solid but I imagine they make more money off the whales than the would of me buying a DLC once every 2 years.
