Yep, forcing another class that can never be properly balanced into the game is a great idea WG... Not surprising to me tho, as i come from WoT where despite the problems balancing the massively "popular" and "loved" artillery class you decided to introduce the physics defying French armored cars, you know, despite stating you will never add something without tracks in that game...

In the next update they will nerf the reload from 28 to 29 seconds. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/158

A highly experimental premium released with a nerf permit to it. Yeah i will wait a few patches to see what is left of her before even thinking of buying.

A Look Through Time: German Destroyers
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
So the actual French DD Marceau was the renamed Z-31, not the paper project we have in game. Interesting fact indeed. -
Not all of them tho, the tier 9 ships which are sold both for coal and for cash in the premium shop are just as immune to direct nerfs as any other premium(except the new premiums coming with a "nerf permit" note on release). The tier 10 coal ships and the so called "steel legends"(Flint and the ruski DD) are not on the premium shop so they can be nerfed at any time.

[Poll] If you acquired "Super Container" as 24th "Daily Reward" - what did you get?
Cheeky_chappie replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Got 14 days of premium. Pretty fine drop it seems if i look at the poll results right now. -

Jutland containers -any success? Agincourt? Share pls
Cheeky_chappie replied to Gnirf's topic in General Discussion
I got 12 special free exp flags from my first free container. I'm quite happy actually, because that means i can finish the Nelson grind today. Reading the previous comments i'm not too hopeful for the second free container. I would buy the Agincourt if it comes in a straight sale, but i'm not dumb enough to pull the lever of WG's slot machine for it. -
Yep, because allowing us to buy the monumental amount of 6 Jutland containers with our hard earned tokens would be too much... Nope! Only 2 comrade! And if you are unlucky enough to pull a camo for a ship you will never have from them, well you know where the premium shop is! Buy some mOAr! I really hope Agincourt is not locked behind the boxes and will be in open sale too, it is a ship i would like to buy, but i'm not spending cash on WG's casino for it!

Update 0.10.4 – German Destroyers: Part 2
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
100 000 coal with 25 million creds minimum bid with 5000 winners. Hmm... My experience from the WoT BM event tells me the minimum winning bid for an offer like that is going to be about 35 million, but if we take into account that this is the only credits offer for this auction session which means the people who really want it will probably go all in... Well i guess i will just go with 45 million bid and hope for the best. -
Festive Bundles in the Armory and Premium Shop
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Hol' up! Wasn't Kirov sold previously for cash too? I got mine for coal in the armory so i don't know if it was in the prem shop as well, but if it was previously sold for cash without that notice and now they are trying to retroactively slap it with that nerf permit BS... WOW! I guess nothing is safe. -
Developer Bulletin for Update 0.10.4
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Yes i watched it and the numbers are staggering(i really didn't expect the bids for the Sr and 5A clone to be that high), but still, i think the BM event is a win for everyone involved. WG gets a fat cash influx and wipes the resource reserves of the bid winners so they have to play(or pay) more to restore them. The free 2 play players and the casual spenders get to pick up premiums for credits which is invaluable help for the former and opportunity to pick something new for the latter(we all have those premiums we are interested in, but not enough to spend cash on them, so if one of those is offered for creds, why not?). End of the day, it is the player who decides whether to press the bid button or not, WG is not ramming it down our throats. Still, if the WoWs auction has ships in it at all, i really hope they refrain from selling the really OP ones, or if they do, i hope the batches are small enough not to result in something like a game with 4 Enterprises in it! -
Developer Bulletin for Update 0.10.4

This event under pretty much the same rules exists in another WG title, World of Tanks, as the "Black market" and it is pretty successful and popular with the playerbase of the game, it is designed to syphon away resources from the game and make whales fork out for extremely rare items, that is true. But the reason this event is so popular in WoT is that you can actually buy premiums, even good tier 8 ones, for credits, if they sell some premium ships in the WoWs version it will be a nice event, on my WoT account i've been able to pick at least one tier 8 premium tank every time this event was held(once a year for 3 years now), and i'm not a megawhale sitting on mountains of cash. But i guess we should wait and see what the WoWs version will be, could be only cosmetics and no ships at all. -
1. New York- I love looking at my ships with the Brooklyn bridge at the background and with the "East river" theme playing(tbh, the port music can make or break a port for me). 2. Hawaii- Again, music, "The last sunset" pretty much reduced me to tears the first time i heard it. Amazingly beautiful theme! 3. Hamburg- I love the busy industrial feel it has to it, also i like how they managed to weave in the German anthem into the port music.

Hamburg Dockyard: Construction of ZF-6
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Dude it is WG we are talking about. The only promises they will not break are those which can potentially get them in legal trouble and/or massively hurt their profits. That said, the only ships safe from receiving a direct nerf are those premiums sold for cash in the premium shop, without the little "Balancing rights reserved" note which accompanied the Flandre. Stalingrad was sold for steel and Thunderer for coal, meaning there is nothing stopping WG from nerfing them. And i'm pretty sure that is the fate which awaits FDR and Austin. -
Hamburg Dockyard: Construction of ZF-6
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Completely uninteresting for me, i was hoping for some mid tier ship as a reward or at least some more coal, special flags or free exp, but i'm not going to bother specifically grinding for those rewards. If i complete some of the missions as i play- fabulous, if not it is not a big loss. I hope the missions are easy tho, for those of you who actually want the ZF. -
Before you consider buying Flandre ....
Cheeky_chappie replied to fumtu's topic in General Discussion
If said "balance changes" can be in both directions i'm all for it! The main concern for most people is the right of WG to nerf the premiums with such disclaimer, but what about buffs? With WG having the freedom to rebalance any such ship as they see fit post release, they have no excuse not to buff them if they prove underperforming, after all, if they overbuff it they can scale back those buffs freely. If they are careful with the changes and preserve the playstyle of the ship, when nerfing/buffing it i actually think such "live" balancing can be a good thing, sure it is better to properly test them before release, but... it is WG we are talking about. -
Update 0.10.2 – Italian Battleships: Part 2
Cheeky_chappie replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I think they are preparing to move to the sales model they use in World of tanks. In that game you have a small selection of premiums permanently available for both cash and ingame gold, only few of which are actually good choices. The really good stuff, the most competitive premiums people actually want to buy, comes only as a timed offer, usually for a weekend and it is cash only. If i'm right, i guess we are going to see ships like the Mainz and Bayard removed too before the year is over. -
Poll: Is anyone considering pouring money into the captain rework?
Cheeky_chappie replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
Nope, as a fairly new player with not too many commanders i will be doing normal retrainings and grind when i have to. Those 1100 dubs WG is giving me will go nicely in my Mainz or Lenin fund(depending on which of the two the new meta will be kind to). -
Nice. I hope they give her with her unique +100% free exp camo, like the coal version, not some generic +50% exp one.

After getting Strasbourg, only 7 days to complete the whole "ships and fates" mission?
Cheeky_chappie replied to luokailk's topic in General Discussion
It took me 3 days to get the Strasbourg after the last stage unlocked, 2 days for the stars and 1 for the final mission. With the "Ships and fates" campaign i honestly expected to get the Hawkins and maybe Visby, but it is way easier than that. Today i'm 6 stars away from the New York final mission and completing the campaign with 2 days left. I actually got a bit of a head start since i unlocked the first final task, before getting the Strasbourg. For me it was worth it, as i'm a new player and getting those ships for free saves me some time from grinding the lower tiers and the gift boxes they come along with were good for me with a lot of credits and exp signals in them. -
USS Oklahoma available for purchase in the future?
Cheeky_chappie replied to Balha_Milan's topic in General Discussion
Not worth spending cash on her, wait for the collection containers to come in the armory, tho i suspect they are not going to be priced at 1k per container, the collection reward is a premium ship after all so maybe 3-5k. If you need a few more duplicates to complete the collection buy them, if not, the ship is not worth spending too much coal on it either.- 26 replies

Is It Too Late For Strasbourg for me?
Cheeky_chappie replied to Curesto's topic in General Discussion
With 5 days to go and only 2 mission slots, i'd say it is going to be pretty hard. I got the final stage in 3 days(x7 stars a day in the first 2 days and the final mission on the 3rd) but i have premium account so i could do 3 missions at the same time. And the final mission is 20k base exp, so forget about doing it in co op. -
Mainz is the only ship from the list i'm interested in. With the Yahagi compensation and armory coupon i will only pay 4475 for the Mainz, (and if i don't use any or most of the commander rework 1100 dubs it becomes even cheaper). 4500 dubs cost less than a 5 pack of boxes. A 5 pack of boxes do not guarantee a ship. Conclusion: Sorry WG no milkin' this time.
