Further to this problem, now cleared have set my camera view to the space bar. All i did was run the WoWS_report.wgc file that resets everything I understand. anyway that let me allocate the key I wanted. Again cheers for the imput.

Was penalised, but after keeping clean for required period showed no xp points available. After period expected xp to be available again but 20 battles or so later, nothing shows and my xp total has not increased, can anybody explain why in simple terms! if I cannot get xp points it seems to me pointless carrying on with the game. Also the logic of being in battle and firing your torpedoes at a target ( the only other vessel showing on the screen, at the time I might add ) only for an ally to then come in from off screen to get hit by the torpedoes by getting into the torpedoes path and I end up being penalised for it, just does not seem at all fair to me. I can understand gunnery penalties as there is more control there but absolutely none when a torpedo has been fired and released. Just wondered what other thoughts might be on this.

HI, well I seemed to have cleared the logging on problem and confusion, I ran ccleaner and that cleaned out my registry and now everything seems okay. Will try a re-install at a later date to see if that sorts out the key-binding problem.My thanks to both arquata2019 and Astolfo_Is_My_Waifu for your help. I don,t know if WOW does this sort of help for new players, but a step by step diagram with instructions (as the two players I,ve mentioned have done for me) of the various aspects of the game would be a great help to new and relatively new players. Kudos to you both. If any other players have this sort of explanations etc just point me to them, as I would be interested to read them.

Well I have a feeling my install must have got slightly corrupted in some way as not only do I have the previously mentioned problem but now it won,t let me do a full reinstall as I can download the loader but then when I run it, it simply opens up the wargaming.net front-page. And to make matters more confusing I now find that when I select the WOW start icon on my desktop this does the same and jumps to the wargaming.net front page where if I select WOW it runs the game. Very strange. So now I wonder if someone could advice me how to save my stats so I can do a delete of the game then reinstall it from scratch and then I can place my stats back into the new install hopefully. I hope that makes sense readers.

Hi Astolfo_Is_My_Waifu tried the fix as you instructed, but still does not work. So I,ve decided to try a reinstall to if that will clear the problem. Will let you know how I get on.

Wondering if I should re-install., just in case program is slightly corrupted.

Get as far as selecting the shift but message comes up saying hotkey reserved and then locks up sometimes then the whole program some times hangs, and I have to reboot it.

I have a number of questions about stuff I,m still not sure of - for you experience players to hopefully explain to me and answer:- 1/ / If say I wanted to buy a few camouflages, for example Yamato: Man Of Steel do I need to have the Yamato as one of my ships to do so, in other words do they only work on the Yamato? 2/ I have over 100,000 Elite commander XP, I don,t know the game well enough yet to know whether that is a useful amount to have or how to use them should I need to. 3/ Steel, what good is this to a player as I cannot seem to find a use for it, could it be converted into say coal if I wanted to? 4/ Now this is a subject I,m really quite confused about, on the opening screen is the option on the left-hand side to enter a campaign, which I,ve attemped to do with mixed results. At present I am trying the Strong-Willed campaign which seems to require VIII ships of which I have two at present for tasks 1-4. So I carried out a one star mission which was task 4 "earn 60000 commander xp points" which I duly completed and received the reward. As I was completing the task my progress was shown in the task 4 icon shown on st the bottom of the screen on completion of the battle. Since then though I,ve selected and attempted the first three task individually, using the right tier ships and selected type of battles but no icon comes up now to indicate my progress, can anybody put me on the right track here. Thats all for now, do have other questions to ask for clarification but to be honest had enough of typing at the moment, any help gratefully received.

Well shipmates now I,m a happy sailor, as I said earlier I unparked my cpu cores and then later in the day I got out a 120gb SSD I had lying around and then copied WOW to the empty reformatted the SSD, changed the load properties of the desktop shortcut, Rebooted just to clear the system, and what a difference! I,ve had WOW running for about 4 hours, played numerous games with out a single problem or stutter or hang. So all I can say is the SSD device and the unparking of the cores worked fine for me, so a huge thankyou to all your input.

I seem to be having a problem that is getting worse as time progresses. I apologies if this has been covered before. As far as I can tell with my limited knowledge this problem only started to get worse with the 0.9.8 update. Example of problem I have just finished playing a co-op game (not to good at game yet) I say playing with tongue in cheek as I registered for the battle, pressed the battle button at top of screen and waited, and waited, and waited, you get the picture. List of teams was showing and slowly and surely as ships were sunk they disappeared from the list, until I was finally able to take part. By this time there was 1 enemy ship left I managed to fire once before the game ended. Due to the fact that this is becoming a regular situation ( indeed on 3 occasions I think I never even got into the game before it finished ) along with the fact that I am getting alot of really bad stuttering during gameplay which I did not seem to get nearly as bad on the previous 0.9.7 version. I may add whilst I was waiting to play I have ctrl alt delete to quickly check my internet speed (100mb) and sure enough that seems ok. Anybody help a old seadog with this problem which will be greatly appreciated.

that is what I was suffering from as well during the game, unparking the cores seems to have reduced that problem as well to a large degree, from what I can tell.

Apologies for the late reply, looked into this a bit further on this site and others and there was alot of recommendations to unpark the cpu cores which I did using unparkCPU and that alone seems to have improved on the problem by about 90%. The other points raised in your answers I take on board, especially as the WOW,s program is installed on my 3 month old network drive (so defragging would be a problem) and one of the recommendations indicates installing on a SSD which fortunately I have got one of, doing nothing which I totally forgot about. Which raises a question for me, if I re-install on a the SSD will I lose any of my game information, scores etc if so how can I prevent any loss? Also I had been thinking of installing a NVMe in my system, would one of these be better than a standard SSD? The other point raised in the replies so far are about my computer, to be honest I,m 70 plus years old and I don,t really want to be out buying a new PC especially at my age and as I am in the high risk category with this pandemic here in the UK. My Pc admittedly is rather dated I think, But I,m happy enough with it and it is more than adequate for my everyday needs. Relatively new to game, but I have been entering the operation of the week and on 4-5 ocassions (pretty sure it,s 5) since the latest update the message at the end of the battle comes up with the five stars and the following message "This Is your day Commander" and awards me with 7 "This Is your day Commander" camo. but after exiting screen I have checked my stock and these camo,s have not been added, so now I,m 35 of these camo down. Has anyone else come across this sort of thing or is it a bug?

If these camo,s etc are only issued once why on earth is the message repeated then, very misleading. Does this restriction apply across all ships you use in the operation of the week or just the first time you achieve qualifying.

New PC just windows 10 installed. Trying to install WOW. 100mps internet, over five and a half hours to download less than 4Gig of the 32+gig installation files. Anybody explain why when original install took about one and a half hours to D/L and install. At this rate will take another 40+hours. (speed is fine on speedtest.net over 102mps in fact)

Been playing for a few weeks now but it a very slow learning curve for a old silver surfing seadog like me. The other day I found something about containers whilst in port (at the moment I admit I,m a aim and fire man till I learn more of the do,s and don,ts of the game) and I then clicked on it and it said I had about 100 containers which I duly opened and everything from Premium days (15 I think) to signals etc appeared. My first question is can somebody give me a step by step guide to access the opened container screen from the port screen, as I do not seem to able to find my way back to that screen. Secondly what benefits are these container items to me (I presume they are beneficial.) Thirdly, are there time limits on there usage. and how do I enable the usage whilst in that screen. Fourthly can some body explain what the premium days are for and how, what, why, and when etc do I do with these. I have tried to find the information I require by browsing, but no luck. If you have the patience to help me out, thank you very much All help gratefully received.

Over 24 hours downloading to get 50% a bit of a joke I think.

Ready to give up with this game now, thing stopped downloading at 23% and would not restart the process. had to reboot the new PC checked all firewall settings ok etc tried to download again and low and behold it started from scratch again. nearly 11 hours now in total and now only 4%. at my age may not live long enough to download and play this on my new PC. So p****d of with this situation. Surely should be able to download this as a separate zip file or torrent even to alleviate this sort of problem.
