FP is so necessary because it prevents the part of your ship most hit by HE shells catching double fires. I've tried playing without and you just... die. You get hit by random salvo and have to DCP the fires, and soon another lights you in 3-4 fires. Concealment is kinda banking on not seeing carrier. KMBB have garbage concealment values so without it they're seen before you get even near any island and... Get set on fire. But there's so many CV around it sometimes feels like it doesn't even matter. Compared to old captain system, you can now squeeze in the minimum of range and accuracy for 7 points and get two other 4-point skills, and for ships that would need IFHE it's much cheaper as that's now 2 points instead of 4. So if you cheapskate on the garbage build, it's less garbage than before. You can get secondary batteries Odin with both concealment and FP, nice! Personally though, I no longer see any value in building for secondary battery. Battleship just isn't a good class for close combat.

If and when there's another captain reset, I'll just remove all secondaries related garbage from KMBB and hit concealment and tank build. The worst secondary batteries do to a DD is distract him, which they'll do with or without skills anyway.

Is anything even improved by restricting Petro? I sure didn't enjoy getting carriered in Hindenburg when that was my only option.

The question should be, can cruisers actually deal with DD? Hello Halland, I come with Hydro and a "spotter plane"! Why don't you even care!

It's fairly miserable. At least the grind to T7 is not long.

What camping ships? I see BB sailing around in the back, cruiser doing mostly the same whenever somebody plays the obsolete class, DD gameplay isn't really camping other than Hallands sitting around sending torps but eh? The CV then? He's camping behind the CV island. Can we assume these bombs obliterate carrier?

Isn't Haida plenty strong already? But might as well boost all DD secondaries a bit, nothing will be broken by doing that.

Well, yet another ship to make BB kite away, then realize they never have targets, then complain about how BB all kite away.

I like how this is done to a pristine Alaska, a ship with allegedly good AA.

I don't even have a T7 cruiser so I played Admiral Makarov last night. I think I'll just stick to Z-39 though, the rest are kinda crap versus the usual suspects in this mode.

It's just the beginning. Can you spot the skills in cruiser and DD trees remaining that are certainly going to get replaced or hugely buffed?

They look so boring though. Do you really want to do gimped CV things for griefing reasons so much that you'd want to play a 6 gun Fuso?

Okay, I actually have an idea, not that I find BB boring. But here it is : Give BB a consumable that extends their AA bubble and power and that immediately blasts enemy fighters out of the air at ~6km. Why not give an aggressively positioned BB a good ability to protect their team from aircraft and especially help DD clear out the fighter menace? Wasn't Iowa among some others practically tasked for fleet anti-air later on?

IJN BB once because I thought it would be (and it was) nice to play. Got the UU for Grozovoi... Same for Haru line, it's okay, and KMBB, which is horrible. Working towards the Yolo, but playing Gneisenau is so horrendous that it's taking ages. I'll rather play Yuudachi or something.

BB aren't boring to play. Kriegsmarine BB are boring to play because they're trash, and I suspect most BB complaints arise from people playing them. Just play like Yamato, or Iowa, or Richelieu and you can see how battleships are quite fun. I mean, playing too much Kurfurst made me switch class because it's so horrendous to play. Now whenever I play something like Montana I have a good time. I still remember oneshotting an Iowa that one time... Try to get better than 3 overpens and a ricochet in the same situation with Kriegsmarine and you'll be so incredibly disappointed. Until you aren't, because that's what Kriegsmarine BB consistently do.

Need kills with cruiser for dockyard. Best ship for this is of course Hindenburg, which is just all round great. So I do normal stuff, juke behind island, shoot halland, shima etc... Get carriered, shoot at broadside cruisers with AP, so on. Backline sniping Colombo threatens to shoot me if I hide for one more second! He missed.
