Honestly she feels more like a gimmick premium ship than a main line tech tree cruiser. The games where things go her way are great, owing to powerful guns and unrivaled torpedo broadside. They're just few and far between... Was I WG, I'd do the Soviet treatment to IJN cruiser line. Slam a torp reload booster on Zao while you're at it.

Yeah it's not for all boats. The spähkreuzer have armored turrets tho.

I just use magazine mod on the boats that get detonated too much like Elbing.

Well, Zao is just surpassed by the Venezia in every way. Venezia has even better DD blapping capabilities, it's tougher, more maneuverable, with less glacial turrets, better torp angles, with an exhaust smoke, more speed... If at least Zao was actually nimble maybe there was some point to her.

Yeah. Including other battleships, really, with their crossmap ranges, high explosive rounds and often the ability to get full pens on other bb superstructures. The latter is something I feel should go entirely, it seems to me that the design is - or should be - that the superstructure is junk you shoot when there's nothing better you can shoot, but being able to arm your battleship caliber shells on this junk seems stupid.

Submarines don't seem all that fun to play. Again one of these things, good against pushing battleships. Might as well be great at hunting dinosaurs.

Well the question is what are your other options for 1m fxp? What else would you want?

1500 at CV is not average CV? Even if he had 0PR in everything else.

I struggle to see the point. HE spam CA that can spam more HE but in a gimmick fashion? Why play these over like KMCA or smth?

I don't think 1500 PR is below average skilled CV player.

Decided to whip out the Hizen for no particular reason. Now I really like 12 gun battleships other than the Kurfurst. We lost all caps in the start of the match and our DD just circled around them so... I just charged straight in the cap with no cover. Fortunately the Schultz responded to my F5 spam while the Gearing and the others would not.

Eh, I don't find I run out of radars and especially don't run out of hydro. Neither does it seem that other people do, if you run at an Alaska in the late game, you can bet your [edited]he has radar left.

Some strikes off of 10 are : - No new maps and some that exist are pretty bad - DD are overly important yet only countered by themselves - CV is too important, powerful and unfun to play - No Swedish voices for Swedish boat - No Finnish boats! - The UI wastes my time (opening crates for example) - The standard battle and snipecenter game modes - Italian BB are a huge letdown If the playerbase counts as a part of the game, then idk, maybe 7. Perhaps the game doesn't teach the average joe how to play very well? Dunno.
