Sorry, I know nothing of the old HIV. The game tells me HIV has 220k horsepowers and Carnot 160k, so it's perhaps less able to speedjuke? But the thing is, it's a supercruiser, with unusually robust armor for the French. I've been shot by all sorts of things in my limit testing and the only disastrous hits were from a flanking Jean Bart I couldn't angle to, though no cits from him either.

Yo @nambr9, wanna know how great it would be to have ASW in that situation? I present to you, every antisub skill and module that exists Alabama : Strafed him with 2 separate airstrikes before nobody could spot subs anymore.

Oh, so not all of them :( Just dispersion module and the only relevant skill. Still tried it in ranked and for some reason Baltimore wanted to cross the T with me when I was trying to kriegsmarine the DD's down. Good thing there's free respecs.

Yeah like the other Supercruisers are pretty lardy when it comes to maneuvering. Carnot feels to me like what if Azuma had really good speed and didn't have an entirely disastrous armor scheme and lost HE powers. It seems so very unremarkable but in practice it's glorious.

I have the Wichita. It's pretty much a more agile, lesser Baltimore. AFAIK the Rochester is a smoke Baltimore? Maybe the Irian then?

You have to add new stuff, otherwise a game stagnates and everybody will hate it because it's just the same but somehow seems worse. Problem with subs is that they're boring and probably not a good idea. -

So. You get good armor bow-on, mediocre-low HP, okay maneuverability combined with the rear turret gimmick and smoke. So far so good. Then you get no AA, no range, no accuracy, no reload, no ability to overmatch any CA extremities in it's matchmaking spread, no HE to slap DD with (not that you'd hit one) and a disastrous citadel if something is to your broadside. What you get is a shotgun with 16 rifles with a high theoretical alpha strike but practically it's always worse than a Montana or even a Kurfurst, if you use AP that is. If you use the gimmick ammo tho? No overpens, no devstrikes, much shatters, always disappointment, you have to often use it because of your garbage caliber but it doesn't exactly feel like an upside. Why did Colombo have to be so bad and why would you play it over literally any other battleship in the game? Can I have the time it took to grind it back? -

Yeah I no longer care about anything on a BB but the guns and speed. You burn the same, golden ammoed the same, get submarined the same, Shimakazed the same and carriered the same. Armor only helps against threats that went extinct. -

Okay, so what happened to all classes ability to fight sub? The BB planes take 4 successful runs (or more?) to sink a submarines nobody can even detect. Also I love the 2 BB 2 Cruiser games. WG might as well not bother to releasee their planned surface ship likes. -

Eh, with the accuracy it feel more like a 6 gun battleship or smth, and with the stupid way superstructures work you can slam several BB with that same damage on super with AP, and I don't think the SAP has good enough bounce angles to damage the deck of the ones that don't have big superstructure. Like maybe you can slap some of the weak bow bb with it hard when they push in? Whoever those would be. -

Yeah of course. I think I'll just wait until I see somebody smash with it in a way that is not possible for another BB. -
Well, of course, it's RNG. The nice thing is that one tends to forget all the 0 hits from 4km and the 12 overpen salvos on broadsiding cruisers, while the memory of the 100-0 oneshot of another battleship forever sticks with your favourite ships. You'll get more consistent devstrikes with broadside weight and accuracy, such as is the case with Montana.
