    Public Test 0.11.4 - Submarine improvements

    Hello I don't know if i am right here in this section. It is my first time writing something in the forum and I like submarines. I am facinated by them since I was already a child and I wanted to give feedback about them. I played two tests of the submarines in meanwhile and ofc this one too. I think it is an improvement that a submarine is forced to surface to recharge their batteries, but I think it could be improved. You see a game lasts around 20 minutes I think and you don't want a submarine to dive half of the game permantly, but submarines are so slow, that while diving they can't get anywhere. I think this is a huge problem for us subs in the test. I think the us subs want to brawl with their amount of torpedo in front as well in the back, but the amount of time they can dive or the movement speed they have allow them to not effectively use their torpedos. You can throw your torpedos then do a 180 degree and throw the other torpedos and disengage and wait to recover Batterie. As well as for the German subs i think surfacing is very stressing. You also just can't pass beneath a ship and build up enough distance to surface safely. That makes me feel like subs are like destroyers and feel more comfortable being played without diving at all. Diving would just make a sub escape. I think diving should be used more aggressively. That's why I think a submarine should not lose batterie capacity when diving. Instead I think what a submarine could use is a efficiency gap. A submarine that moves slow or is not moving at should be able to dive longer. In order to make a submarine surface, players should force them to move fast which increase the batterie consumption. I also think it is boring for a submarine, especially for the German ones to recharge the batteries for such a long time. How about submarines recharge fast when moving slow and recharge almost nothing when driving at full speed like the German do now. That could also help to prevent submarines extending fights by constantly surfacing and diving without Batterie charge. Submarines are surprisingly tanky if not many ships attack them they can buy minutes of time by doing so. The next thing i want to address is how blind submarines are. Submarines can't operate without their team at all. If many of your allies are destroyed, a submarine becomes dog food. A submarine won't be able to see the enemy at all, because the consumable don't last long and it is very hard to attack ships by trying to ping silhouettes. I think it should be permantly active for a sub diving at max depth so it has at least an idea of what is going. Even as just a navigation tool, the long cooldown and the slow movement speed of am sub makes it very very hard to use it to avoid ships. You are simply way to slow. A sub that is forced to operator lone will be attacked hard by DDs and CAs very brutally, because if it uses a torpedo or a ping, ships will hunt it down with ease. I recommended that a sub should be able to save batterie if standing still, which would make it back again hard to fight as a DD. Which brings me to my last point. More methods to fight submarines off. In the game Battlestations pacific destroyers had access to a very special weapon to fight of submarines. It is like water grenade launcher. It looks like a mortal shooting a massive amount of tiny water bombs into a closet area to harm submarines. I think this kind of weapon could be a good implement in the game. Also in order to fight of submarines that hide due to my example by standing still, trapping them into a minefield could be a nice mechanic. Minefields acting as fences and making it difficult for submarines to pass through an area. In order to imprison subs, subs shall be able to destroy minefields with torpedos, which results into a notification for an enemy ship withing a certain area. A sub should only be able to see the mines like silhouettes in order to make sneaking by difficult. Kind regards lord06762
