Preach! Hopefully they'll have a Big Red (or Orange I think the last one was) Button to reset all our ships at once, at least that would save the time of having to trigger each one individually. Last time I just left my commanders un-skilled and only kitted them out when I played their ship; a lot of them are still waiting ;)

Yep, I don't that WG focusing on carriers to the extent that they have thus far has contributed well to the longevity of the game; as you say, a lot of potatoes don't stick around long enough to spend (although I can imagine there are those that dive in wallet-first in an attempt to buy some skill, before they get bored and give up). I wouldn't trust WG not to roll the change back or at least tweak it down to irrelevance in order to placate the CV speshuls, so probably not worth resetting just yet; the good news is that there's going to be another free general reset sometime fairly soon though apparently :)

Tone: Armory bundles- not available as "Ship only"
NobleRipper replied to Isoruku_Yamamoto's topic in General Discussion
Same here, but when I worked in retail (DVDs/games/CDs) it was always a scrum between the different companies to see who could offer the lowest price for the new releases. Of course they weren't 'on sale', per se, but it was funny how the prices would go up once the initial feeding frenzy abated and they wanted to maximise profits from anyone late to the party... Thanks for the tip! I'm in two minds, as on the one hand she'd be a very interesting (and historical) ship to have, but on the other I'm not convinced that the real-world maxim of 'half-cruiser/half-carrier makes for worse than either' doesn't apply, as far as gameplay mechanics go. Plus I'm impatient, and three minutes sounds like a long time ;) -

Hey, I'm not kink-shaming ;) Might even have to pick her up at some point myself, if or when the price is right and the hybrid mechanics have been finalised! -

Yep, seems about right. 'New stuff is always full price' is certainly one school of thought in business, but it seems to me that WG tend to overlook the 'discounts make for happy customers' philosophy... -
Interestingly enough, I think all these dire warnings of a 'CV exodus' we're hearing may be pretty close to the mark. WG have been courting casual potatoes to play CVs this whole time, and they're exactly the kind that would likely quit and play something else (ship type/game) when a relatively modest obstacle like this intrudes on their gameplay. I imagine we'll know for sure if that's right if/when they dilute or flat-out roll back the change...

GRAND BATTLES LOCKED AND UNPLAYABLE.
NobleRipper replied to Jessa_Doom's topic in General Discussion
I saw three Intel Reports get added to my account last time I logged in (indeed, there's been three more added today) and assumed it was yet another new miscellaneous currency added to the Armoury to be extra fun-'n'-engaging. Took a couple of minutes looking around in newsposts to spot the answer, but to be fair I've been ignoring the stuff about Grand Battles, so I suppose it serves me right! -
Guessing you're not allowed back to the Grand Prix? ;) I wonder how much the Just Dodge(tm) line will be used towards destroyer drivers from now on, in light of the fact that it's now actually possible?

I think that would show as one day (and then go down to an hour-by-hour count when you get below 24), but as someone else mentioned it seems like '2 days' can have quite a few hours' leeway either side so seems like the principle is definitely sound! Would be nice when seeing those approximations of times in-game if we could get the actual amount remaining, say by hovering over with the mouse pointer. Would be useful for all the various screens displaying mission times as well...

Community tokens - your take on the new currency.

I'm waiting to see what rewards they're prepared to give for people watching four straight hours of WoWs TikTok... -
Community tokens - your take on the new currency.
NobleRipper replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
In general I'm in favour of consolidation of rewards, rather than adding yet more and different ways to do essentially the same thing. In practice, I don't have any recruits I'd be getting points from nor am I inclined to watch Twitch, so it seems like I won't be getting any Commie Tokens anytime soon... -

Ooh, support ships eh? Three words: Kam. Furkin'. Chatka -
I'm sure it isn't true, but if you look at my post you'll also notice it's not what I said: there's a difference between no data and no useful data. And if the test servers have been so useful, why was so much effort made by yourselves at WG to claim otherwise when people objected to subs being brought to the live servers in an unfinished state?
-
Out of interest: given that test servers apparently haven't been providing useful data for sub development thus far, why is this one going to be any different?
-
I think the industry-standard rule applies: pick two ;)

Armchair Admirals: the Battle of Jutland
NobleRipper replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Less entertaining, but rather more historically accurate on average, at a guess -
If the hypothetical was that in getting one of them I was forever banned from having any of the others, Haida wins hands-down; then again, that's largely from the historical perspective (although LWM's review is very entertaining and positive too!)

Top man. Much appreciated, even if it's unlikely I'll be playing enough to complete the mission!

Get Kirov for Completing a Chain of Combat Missions, and Discounts for Ships and Camouflages!
NobleRipper replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Yeah, isn't it funny how you have to play Randanked to get the ship? Apparently Co-op/Ops players still aren't allowed nice things in this game. Misleadingly enough, the article says this: Which is flat-out untrue; noone can complete this mission chain in Co-op or Ops, just individual missions within it (and they have to play PvP to even access some of those). I was kinda looking forward to earning myself a Kirov based on that article, but apparently it still seems that WG has a lot to learn about how to communicate information. It seems like even the news articles are no longer trustworthy. -
Question about penalties/ enforcement.
NobleRipper replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
It seems from past observation that if he's paid WG money in the past or they think he's likely to do so in future, there would likely be very few consequences to his account. I get the impression that infractions are not well-policed in WoWs.- 4 replies

Waterline: What's Happening Next?
NobleRipper replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
WG staff are clearly disinterested in their own game, presumably they assume the playerbase is too and underestimate the effort people are willing to put in to considering it.
