[PSA] Submarines participating in Random Battles in update 0.10.9.
Aethervoxx replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
You do realize, Gvozdika, that Seraphice is 'WG Staff' & so will be, by definition, biased in publically defending corporate decisions. I doubt many of us are convinced (to date) by much of whatever it is the corporate representatives have said. -
Ideally, both Random teams should have exactly the same number of Div players in the same mirrored Divs, eg both teams have a three player Div of the same tier, etc. This could work & would be 'fair' on the face of it (ignoring the actual player skills), however, doing this might result in a very long queue time.

Nor can I agree with this.

I cannot agree with this.

Submarines - How to make the best of a bad situation.
Aethervoxx replied to Gvozdika's topic in General Discussion
Well the bad situation is how easy it is to get killed playing a Sub. The best solution, therefore, is to figure out how to survive all the while doing your best to torp the enemy. The 'very best thing', ofc, would be to torpedo sink an enemy CV (those 'horrid' things). -

Well, I've just read all these now 10 pages of comments. My conclusions: Practically everyone is against Subs being added to random battles (as they presently are). I'm not against the class (per se) as Subs were an integral part of 20th century naval warfare. The question is: Should Homing Torpedoes be in the game? It is also clear that WG will add Subs to Random Battles (whether they are 'tweaked' properly or not). Me? I will play them in T6 Random Battles (only) when they arrive and then make a decision whether to keep playing them. Perhaps, like some say they may do, I will retreat to playing T2 - T4 to avoid Subs completely & to avoid, as much as possible, the horrid reworked CVs (there's lots of fun ships in T2 & T3). As to playing the T6 Subs myself - I will do all I can to sink any enemy ship I can with them, especially the horrid reworked CVs (yes, I am aware how WG coddles & protects this reworked disaster class) -

Purchases getting nerfed. Is that a thing?
Aethervoxx replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
Well, WG has already reworked CVs so if you didn't agree to that how were you to get a refund on any premium RTS CVs you might have purchased? All WG did was give you a doubloon credit - so this is, maybe, what will happen. -
These Camoflages WG are proposing to remove ..... WoW, just WoW! 'Rising' - no comment (I don't have it, if I ever did?) "Blue Lagoon' - potentially removed? No. Say it ain't so. Blue Lagoon has useful bonuses & it looks good. Why remove it? If anything, just make it less likely to obtain but don't entirely remove it. "For Meritous Service' - potentially remove? No. Is an all white Camo with useful bonuses bad? It looks OK & is a welcome relief to these all black Camos. Please don't remove it.
-
I don't get why WG plans to remove the India Bravo Terrathree signal flag. It is a simple -10% to the cost of a ship repair after battle. This flag has been around for so long, as well. If anything, why not just make it more expensive to purchase rather than remove it.
-
So, Type 1 & Type 2 Camoflages are being changed to Type 5 Camoflage & therefore these two will disappear. This is simply making players spend 22,500 credits for a basic bonus Camo. Some still play with no Camoflage at all. All this will do is affect new F2P players just starting out. This certainly won't affect anyone with enough credits already available.

A CB Season without CV? Am I dreaming?
Aethervoxx replied to Prophecy82's topic in General Discussion
Weird. A session with no CVs even though CVs, once they appeared, were the decisive naval class? Reality check? (Leave that at the door) I keep forgetting this is just a fantasy arcade game masquerading in a historical Halloween costume. -
I am against submarines and an arms race in random battles !!!!
Aethervoxx replied to maybe__baby's topic in General Discussion
As to whether one is for or against Submarines in WoWS - they are already here & I would think they will be in Random Battles soon enough. As to an Arms Race in Random Battles - that particular ship has already sailed out of port &, so, is already here (& has been for quite some time). -

You got this right Verblonde. -
OMG, another auction coming up.......
Aethervoxx replied to VenividiviciNL's topic in General Discussion
I'll have to take your word for this Verblonde - I no longer play WoT. You mean to say that WG has still not mined all the blueprint vehicles that were never built? Aren't they well onto total fantasy vehicles by now? -
OMG, another auction coming up.......
Aethervoxx replied to VenividiviciNL's topic in General Discussion
You are correct Shaka_D. Yes, we Forumites make the good comments - try to suggest to WG to do things for the benefit of the game as opposed to seemingly just extracting every penny WG can. We Forumites can propose a boycott of whatever upsets us but we are a vocal minority. There are also some Forumites who think/say/argue that WG can do no wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions here. The main point is the vast majority of players likely don't even examine the Forum or it's content. WG knows this & relies on this majority, enough of this less informed player base, to purchase the latest & greatest(?) offerings. &, ofc, the Collectors/Whales want mostly everything( & WG knows this too). This is, ofc, the reason why your contention of 'No', is correct. -
OMG, another auction coming up.......
Aethervoxx replied to VenividiviciNL's topic in General Discussion
So, that's what the Lighthouse beam was illuminating. So, that's what the newest coin is for that the one Captain was flipping .... I didn't notice the auction notification so I thought this was just a WG video representing a bunch of idiots in costume & for what purpose (other than to try to part the fool from his/her money)? Ofc, I was suspicious of exactly what this new video was about - what WG was again wasting their resources on. Why am I not surprised it's just another money grab? At least, some actors got some work as well as a film crew. & a 'pre-announcement' - how considerate of WG for both anticipation or to ignore. -
No.
-
No. There were a number of 'reasons' why these paper ships were never built (even if there were blueprints for them).
-
I like historical BBs so I ground to the Andrea Doria. I've found the Ita BBs I've played to be OK. I'm not that enamoured of WG propensity to 'gimmick' any of these newer tech tree lines.

Transformers collection / need to buy containers?
Aethervoxx replied to JG4_sKylon's topic in General Discussion
Cunning? Scheming? _ _ _ _ _ (insert any relevant term). I doubt WG are mad but I bet some players are . -
Games with no lags (for whatever reason)? Probably, never. I barely ever see any lag but when I do you may be sure it's never the fault of WG
-
I didn't realize Halloween costumes were necessary just yet. (total pass from me here, btw)
