ah yes well, those were the days, a golden era of DOT stacking, when flooding actually mattered, when getting a ship to suffer multiple fires and floods was a common occurence. I miss those days. WOWS kids get it easy nowadays/ MAKE FLOODS GREAT AGAIN!

Very few CVs, at distinct periods of RTS CV universe in WOWS, were capable of deleting any ship, from full hp to zero, in one pass. (excluding detonations). There were examples (some very naughty ones!), but they were the exception rather than the rule, unless my memory is failing.

Oh, I don't want to make CVs more accessible, ha you misunderstand me! Making CVs more accessible, has been a mistake. RTS auto drops were a mistake because they allowed (and encouraged) poor low effort game play, to the detriment of the entire online in battle gameplaying WOWS community.

this is a myth, or at least highly exaggerated. I do not think you are reading what I have said.

I do not say this. I said that ONLY manual drops should have been available t7 to t10, for all CV players. The auto drop feature would be removed/deleted/junked for all cvs and players at t7 to t10.. Auto drop would only have been available for t4 to t6, as training wheels for those new to cvs. Manual drop could have remained available, but optional, at tier 6. potato players unable to employ manual drops would have stopped playing CVs at t6, probably. RTS oneclick2kill 2018 Zeppelin 2.0 would have been impossible. Obviously I say this as a hypocritic.

why? successful usage of manual drops was an essential skillcheck in the RTS days. Perhaps the advantage of manual vs auto dropping could have been more moderate, while the implementation of manual targeting for CVs could have been more progressive and intuitive, there were many complaints back in the day at the lack of official tutorials for CVers. But arguably, from t7 onwards, manual drops should have become obligatory, and auto drops removed from t7 to t10. That way, all CVers would have been on a level playing field, as far as the game mechanics were concerned.

at least dodging CV rework flak clouds, requires some player input. Continuous AA is unavoidable dmg (can only be minimized by spending the least amount of time possible in an AA sector.) When the rework was launched, devs expressed much hope for the flak burst mechanic, before regressing back toward the safe and certain principle of a Continuous Radioactive Toxic Cloud AA dot field, which of course, is an example of the devs admitting they havn't got a clue how to resolve the underlying problem/player frustration.. the old RTS AA system was very straightforward, but once a CV player was mildy experienced, surface ships became either easy prey or porcupines best avoided. AA was a binary, "yes I can attack it/no I can't attack it"./ Now at least, all ships are prey, food sources, victims. Nobody is safe! WOWS is much more egalitarian! Recent changes to the game, (EU dds such as Halland, changes to rocket targeting and concealment values) signals that devs are now regressing back to the RTS days where certain surface ships could feel safe while others remain sacrifices to the (CV) gods.
  8. At least they didn't use Dresden Cathedral as their model.

I disagree, the quality of CV gameplay is so horrendously low, that I can quite often drive a dd up the middle of the map in games with CVs present, my AA turned off, spot enemy cv, and get in torp range without being spotted myself. You get told off by team mates for this, because if you don't pull it off, and get sunk, well that is annoying. this isn't to argue that CVs or DDs are Over or underpowered, just that the generally low quality of CV gameplay makes fun things possible.
  10. funny to stick a Gothic church architecture, on a German ship, rather than on the ship of a country where Gothic art and architecture originated. I suppose this is an example of WG graphic designers being inspired by their recent discovery of Warhammer visual design (which is inspired by Gothic themes). i think a straight up Warhammer skin would be much more reasonable, for Bismarck. As for official German architecture of this battleship's historical period, too controversial I suppose. Nazi architecure was visually characterized by such elements as improbably oversized neo classical roman columns, ego busting gigantism; and of course, eagles. Can't you at WG possibly avoid mixing and matching gothic themes with quite contradictory material? addendum : on a dreadnought era German warship late Gothic architecture would chime much more smoothly, especially Rhenan forms, Sondergotik was a particularly Germanic expression of Gothic art : edit : I am overthinking this, surely. But, sticking a Cathedral (a Civilian sanctuary) on a German BB, subject to being bombed.. Is this a sick joke? An insensitive lack of history education? Or my overreacting? (an attempt at black humour?)

Look at the history of CV balancing in WOWS, take a deep breath and .. I love trolling (World of Warships) CVs with a dd : It doesn't always go as well as this, obviously. But when it does.. edit : as far as Asashio is concerned, I look forward to a 40% buff to concealment from aircraft (currently 2.4 km!).
  13. I am confused about this, in light of sanctions taken against a number of clans for hiring out their "services" during Clan Battle seasons, either for steel or simply in CB early days; to rig results by transferring members between clans during a CB season. I have no personal beef with the idea of Mercenaries, not being a CB player, but as an amused observer of CB politics and occasional crapstorms, I find this quite funny, and look forward to reading of future arguments, meltdowns and scandals.

over population issue : A player can only select a CV for battle when they have positive karma. alternatively : everytime a player is reported for playing a CV they must play 10 dd battles in battles with x 4 CVs and earn +3 compliments after sinking enemy battleships without being spotted (preferably with Asashio) which can be converted to CV permission tokens at an exchange rate of 3 to 1.

    7) Carriers remove the carriers, remove multiple squadron availability, spawn a single, non renewable, player controlled air squadron which can share the same basic gameplay rules as any other player controlled unit in battle (battleship, cruiser, destroyer and probably in the future, submarine). that's right, remove CVs (with a twist) 90% of current problems with CVs will be resolved. After so many years of batting back and forth the same binary yes/no, right/wrong bull, we need to move on by finding another way forward. 1) through 5) I'm afraid, are dead end discussions.

omg, that's like.. I mean./.. how flexible do you need to be to do that to yourself? Quite disgusting I agree, but I have seen that only quite rarely, my psychologist tells me it isn't anything to worry about.

When I am certain we are going to lose, (enemy holds all caps, no allied dds afloat, remaining ally bb is humping a corner of the map, remaining allied cruiser is screaming about the noob cv, I quietly charge toward the enemy in my CV. Honourable thing to do and all that, go down fighting, be generous toward the (clearly worthy) enemy team with my hull hitpoints, harvest reports from dead team mates aghast at the heresy, the scandal, the taboo, of a cv willingly getting sunk.

Enterprise is not so much only broken, but as mostly exempt from nerfs (for now.) (Or does this mean Enterprise is even more broken everytime the other CVs are nerfed?) I am not sure why WG has been so kind and generous with Enterprise's attributes.

Oh dear, I apologise, time lines get confusing when trying to follow these epic CV threads. Indeed, most RTS fighter strafes were easily dodged, if you were awake, had drunk at least three coffees and were good at multitasking. Happily many RTS CV drivers were half asleep, lacked caffeine and were poor at multitasking. I like playing dds, especially Asashio

Graf Zeppelin, until the recent change to rocket reticule/dispersion, was able to do this quite effectively vs slower dds. It could spot a dd, which would try to forestall/undercut the CV attack run by heading toward the attacking planes, but as the GZ had a vertical rocket () dispersion rather than the now universal horizontal rocket dispersion, and because GZ attack planes have both a very short arming phase, excellent agility and a "premium" level of reticule stability, this made knocking 40% hp of dds in one go, in a head on attack, quite feasible. Obviously, this is no longer possible since the changes to rocket dispersion of all CVs including GZ.

AA is not the only skill gate in CV gameplay, CVs are not only about brute force (though many play CVs as though they were). You don't need DoTs to farm dmg, MvR gets 18k+ double cits per AP bomb drop on tier 10 bbs. Vs light cruisers such as Minotaur and Smol, 5+ citadels in one rocket AP pass are reasonably achievable. Obviously, plan your approach versus enemy bbs and cls carefully, prefer yoloing enemy targets, use rockets versus enemy bb superstructures to knock out AA emplacements. Save your (low dmg) torpedos for light targets (dds) and/or to finish off low hp battleships. Successfully hitting and damaging enemy targets depends on a number of things, including but not only AA. Enemy target reaction (reaction time and reaction choice). e.g the time between your planes being spotted and your launching an attack, the time it takes the target to click DFAA and AA sector, the time it takes the target to manouvre to minimize your chances of a successful hit. The state (speed/hp/size) of your squadron when you enter an enemy AA sector, how you minimize your time in continuous AA, & ofc how you avoid enemy flak. blah blah I have not been very good at farming dmg off bbs, because I spend too much time experimenting with AP bomb drops on Khabas and Klebers (I'll succeed one day!)

avg dmg is meaningless, anyone can farm t10 bbs for 100k dmg, yet have negligible influence on battle outcomes. Dmg to dds (and radar cruisers) is far more influential on battle outcomes, for lower average dmg scores. Stat websites do not show how the dmg scores have been earned, treat them with skepticism.

I always congratulate dd drivers when they forget to run the JustDodgetm.exe hack. The experience of novice dd drivers is always going to be miserable, as a novice dd drivers often suffer from Let'sRushCuzMustCapNow syndrome.

i.e incredibly situational, reliant on both a healthy cruiser MM with no dds in the match, and cruisers drivers that either forget to, or who cannot, turn into/away from a rocket attack.
