if you take the mod 16 km. For me it is a lot less fun. The skill changes combined with every damn bb is a sniper now makes the game play a ton of hurry and and wait and may get a few pop shots at a dd before a rain of overmatching shells nukes it. You do realize that about 33%-75% of a smolensk damage was in fires which the change forces players to take the range mod and thus lose 22% total rate of fire. I actually did the math on this a bit ago and the damage even with the HE buff was still like a decent nerf. That combined with the loss of 2% in fire chance just makes this thing less lethal all around. If it had like .5km more on the top end in range I would be ok with it. I miss 16.5km which is where Im use to playing it. I said the same thing the first time I face one. Then I got one and it the feeling of watching people rage in chat cause they auto dcp on a single fire only to get 4 fires in 20 seconds was hilarious.

Yeah I can understand not wanting to buy a pc after spending an ungodly amount of an apple that could be parted out for the same performance at half if not more the cost.
-
2 things They said soon so probably when the .10.0 is ready for mac. gaming is for the PC MASTER RACE SCRUB

Cruisers got a minor buff to AP a massive concealment nerf if they take more HE damage(which is the majority of what they use) a slew of situational skills no one will take outside of for the memes. AA based cruisers like the Worcester now do less aa damage if they go full aa because they nerfed sector enhancement, but they can get an extra flak burst. And then their is super cruisers who are now going to on constant fire thanks to BBs like the Conqueror and Thunderer becoming more snipey. And and if you are a cruiser with 128 or 130 mm gg you just lost 10% dakka and 20% range.

May I point to the DD skill Dazzle/nimble/ HAHAHAHA good luck hitting me suckers!

Sorry but bbs having a defense against dd's is no longer a thing in .10.0

Massive Balance Changes with Captain Skill Rework.
The_Chiv replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
You forgot that light cruisers with 128mm-130mm guns are getting screwed hard, mind you Smolensk and colbert have been pretty toxic to the game for some time. Hell this was 5 minutes ago. DDs may lose aa power a bit but gain some massive buff in the form of Dazzle or nimble or whatever the hell they are calling it. 20% dispersion mitigation that last 15 seconds can be reproced over and over again just by leaving vision and getting spotted again, thus making russian radar less effective then it already is. BBs who sit on the back line all game get rewarded, brawlers took a hit but in the last dev blog they amended this a bit. AA is kind of bad for cruisers.. Cruisers can add another flak burst so 2+ if they take the module get 10% more continues and 5% more from flak versus previous commander skills. On my Worcester if I take every aa skill in the rework that would be 535 continuous, with 2608 from the flak and 7 total explosions per proc, but instead of adding 100% more when I hit ` on the right facing I now will only get 70% and instead of instantly nuking 7% when I hit ` I will only get 3.5%. So for aa ships it is a massive loss. -
Oh I agree. WG tends to cap fun hard
-
I had fun in Tash. Speed, guns, and annoyance. Enemy too busy being annoyed by me and ends up getting screwed when they try to kill me. Not everything in this game is about damage.
-
only morons who dont get damage doesn't mean anything if you do not win
-
Ummmm more likely which team has members who can do what needs to be done and not suicide in the process. WAR IS HELL FOLKS.
-
Udaloi...The horrors Yeah big IF

ahh but there in lies the flaw. CV's wont waste time hunting dds, dds wont waste time spotting or hunting dds. Then you must play a radar ship. I hate this logic and highlights probably one of the biggest flaws of this games mechanics.
-
Kind of a flawed apples to oranges logic train here, but I get where you are going. I did state it would get to dictate engagements because that is one of the main advantages to a dd, the down side, which you are underscoring, A cruiser wants to shoot at dds. It has the best return on attack of any other target in the game. Now like any new ship there will be a learning curve for it and against it. I mean it didnt take long for people to realize that the daring had a massive glaring flaw in its AP DPM so Im less inclined to see this thing getting more then 2 salvos per ambush before being forced to retreat. If it can get more then 3 citadels I would consider that remarkable. Im not sure I called it trash. I said it would end up a meme, but never trash. I tend to avoid this as some ship people say are bad like Colorado, I actually enjoyed and did rather well in. I will admit though when Kleber was shown I initially was not a fan till I played it and I was able to return to a playstyle I long missed. And then WG SAID NO. So Yes you are 100% right that judging before test driving tends to bandwagon bitching, it also creates and environment to be pleasantly surprised like I was with the Kleber and eventually heart broken by WG. I would not say it is better then the Kliber or even soviet one. While yes it can do more damage via guns and concealment it lacks any other defense to survive after use of said guns. Both khaba and kleber have speed and the khaba can take a heal or a smoke. Having a dd whose primary weapon is its guns not have a defensive measure that isnt a broken commander skill not yet introduced feels like a bad idea.
-
and both examples have smoke, and Kleber can go really fast as a defensive measure. This has no defensive measure other then the fact it doesn't have a citadel.
-
i was keeping it in tier.
-
6.6 is not that great tbh. I mean its not Khaba levels of bad but puts it on par with the Kleber. At least that thing can get a damage spike via a consumable.
-
Yes when I play a dd, no because I play more cruisers and I can only shoot what I can see.
-
60mm is the best at current. Yeah dispersion and shell velocity are amazing dont get me wrong as a dd you can dictate when to take your shot and surprise another ship. Lets say you do and everything is a pen. That is 7.7k. If any of those overpen(which depending on arming thresholds and where you are aiming will probably happen a bit) you will get less. Against a cruiser yeah this thing will get 7k easy on the first salvo and if the cruiser opens up to get more guns to bear on you then yeah you can punish it and probably get a few citadels. If they turn bow in and front gun you however you are not gonna get much for it. Don't get me wrong I see many advantages in this. Now your whole focus has been about gun power. The problem is the moment you use your guns as a dd you are going to be lit up like a Christmas tree and most are gonna take a shot. This ship looks huge Thus you are gonna be punished for every shot. It has poor handling by way of ruder shift and turn circle and is pretty slow. Dazzle become damn near mandatory for this ship in order to survive. I get the idea this is meant to be another Ambush dd, but with no agility, speed, or defensive abilities what so ever I suspect this ship is gonna be hard press to become a mainstay and will end up a meme ship like others before it.

Just a review. BBs are now snipers, if your bb was a secondary brawler congrats get a port queen. DDs are now harder to hit Cvs can now mitigate more damage to their planes and do more damage by mitigating torpedo protection Light cruisers lose range and rate of fire, will start less fires, be less effective. If they take Demo man and have bigger then 130mm guns they will suffer a concealment penalty Regular cruisers get a bit more AP damage. Ships like the Henri and zao gain an accuracy buff under niche situational requirements. Will start less fires and be suffer a concealment penalty if they take demo Heavy cruisers get a bit more AP damage and lose most of their defensive anti fire traits. In short DDs will lead only to get slaughtered by cvs, BBs will snipe, cruisers will either die fast or stay by bbs providing meager aa support and cvs will continue to be cv's. I predict in the 90 days following this a few things will happen.(this is me being optimistic) Demoman will lose the concealment penalty. Light cruisers will get some significant stat changes Super cruisers or large cruisers or whatever you want to call them will return to 45 second burns Dazzle or whatever they are calling it will be nerfed secondary guns will have their accuracy and or spreads adjusted CV accuracy will take another nerf Population will post over 1k responses to the rework and most will be negative.

Your logic is sound on this sadly.

Don't assume I was. After this this interaction Im just blocking you as you are a bit to trolli

Semantics
-
Healthier meta since relying on a cv to be useful tends to be a wasted prayer and most DDs are ill equipped or too scared to engage other dds.

It's called a forum. A place where people can state their opinions. I would say by the picture it is comparable to say a Kleber in length. If it had maybe 38kts base then I can almost see this working going full range build and just annoying the hell out of the enemy, but then it just gets eaten alive by cvs. I mean large dd that isnt going over 40kts is pretty easy to hit with rockets and DFAA on this platform wont mean a thing as all of its AA is in the short range so as you take a 10k hit you will kill one plane. And then there is 2 flak for 6 150mm guns. WTF.
