A Simple Guide to Texture Modding

I come back with good news. The problem was indeed a GIMP-related one. As soon as I altered the file in paint.net and saved it, changes were taken over by the game without problem. The issue has thus been solved: "use paint.net instead of GIMP (or save the image you want to alter with paint.net).

A Simple Guide to Texture Modding

Dear PunishedKAsual, I do believe you are right with regards to GIMP. I have tried all options with GIMP which had, unfortunately, no successful results. I'll give paint.net a shot. If that does the trick, I will report back. I'd like to thank all of you for your help.

A Simple Guide to Texture Modding

Dear modders, I am in dire need of help. Following the instructions that were given above (to my best extent) I have tried to remove the rust on the tier X Conquerer. I nicely unpacked the appropriate files that regarded the hull and deckhouse and built a proper file structure. I have tried to undo the rust in two ways: 1: go into the BSB009_Conquerer_1949_hull_a.dds file and paint the areas where rust was visible. 2.: go BSB009_Conquerer_1949_hull_mg.dds file and tried to overpaint the areas so to make the camo go over the rusted areas of the ship. Both of these adjustments I have done in GIMP (after which I exported the adjusted file in dds format (DXT1). HOWEVER, for some reason, when I load into the game and get into the port, I cannot load in the Conquerer when I click on it. The game will simply keep on buffering and will eventually freeze. picture of file tree: Picture of files included in the last texture file: (the appears to be no "Conquerer_a.dds" file, while it does exist for the other British ships, such as the Lion etc. Can anyone help me? I'm out of ideas. Kind regards,
