Exchange Resources for Ships and Other Resources!
InsipidOyster2 replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
1000% this I logged on today expecting to be able to get the last couple of credits i needed to buy enough vouchers for Gorizia and then i find out that the event is suddenly no longer available despite everything i could find on it before today suggesting it would run until update 12.4 goes live. I just got robbed of more than 110.000 coal, 150.000 Free XP, 300.000 Commander XP, and around 25 million credits. I am very much pissed off about this and would very much appreciate it if all of those stolen resources are returned to me ASAP by WG since it's impossible to even trade in the 97 vouchers i worked hard to scrape together. When i first saw the announcement for it I liked this event, while the exchange ratio's could have been a little better i still thought that it was a good idea and a very promising concept. Yesterday, i spent over 12 hours watching the Longest night of the museums stream and had a lot of fun in the process. Today, i find myself remarkably inclined to violence due to several months worth of coal, FXP and CXP gathering as well as a lot of hours worth of Credit grinding having been unceremoniously stolen from me by WG. I will of course be be sending in a support ticket on this issue, even if i don't have high expectations from it. @Seraphice @The_EURL_Guy -

I'm keeping a list in the 'new code' thread, and there is also a list being made on the NA forums. The one i'm making: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/168417-new-code/?do=findComment&comment=4390755 The one on the NA forums: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/266375-codes-the-longest-night-of-the-museums/ -
Pretty sure it's not a museum code so i split it off from that post, but this one also worked for me: SMCHAKNCNTXK edit, seems it's expired

So i just played the changed OP Aegis, and i gotta say it was quite nice and it looks to be a decent (maybe even good) rebalance. Here are some of the changes i noticed: 1. The Nagato's in wave 1 and 2 are now Fuso's. 2. There are no more Mogami's or Ibuki's 3. The 1st wave now seems to be: 1 Tokachi (the all 5" Furutaka premium from the 1st battlepass), 1 Kitakaze, 1 Fuso, and 3 Myoko's. 4. The 2nd wave now has 2 of the trailing CA's be Aoba's, so it's the same ship types but they are Aoba's, Myoko's and a Fuso. 5. The 3rd wave (with the convoy) now seems to be composed of Myoko's and Aoba's 6. The Schors (Akulov) now seems to be able to call in support when it says it is facing 'huge enemy forces' (don't know if that's a trigger or always happens), this support is a Saipan class CVE that appears 5 min later. 7. The last wave also now includes a Tokachi. These are the ones I noticed on my first go of the changed OP Aegis, although there may be more of them that i missed. With these changes made I don't think i will be dreading OP Aegis appearing on screen, and i think it will be a lot more fun to play compared to it's previous incarnation (which just wasn't fun to play).

Leone needs something to deal with subs
InsipidOyster2 replied to ReverendFlashback's topic in General Discussion
In addition to how bizarre the 'historical' argument is in an arcade game like WoWs (and how inconsistently it is applied), it doesn't even hold up very well as an argument. The Leone class was capable of carrying 60 mines, it would not be hard to imagine that crews would use the facilities for those mines to carry a number of depth charges if they thought it necessary. Even then, adding depth charge racks would not be hard to do for a crew with the basic tools available for on board repairs and access to a local junkyard. -
The Rio is decent fun so she would not be a bad choice. Tulsa is supposed to be a Des Moines with 1/3 less barrels, as someone who really enjoys their Salem that sounds intriguing, but since i don't have Tulsa i can't really give you anything solid on her. I would very much advice you to pick up the 2 Tier 3's (Campbeltown and Charleston) however. They don't cost you any money if you buy them for Coal and having them removes them from the potential drop pool of supercontainers and any other containers that can drop ships that include these 2 in their drop pool. Basically, if you buy them for coal now, you are not screwing yourself out of a more valuable ship (ie, one that cost actual cash) in a future container drop.

Holiday Lottery 2022 - Try your luck !
InsipidOyster2 replied to lup3s's topic in General Discussion
Congratulations to all the (other) winners, and a heartfelt thank you to Lup3s and all the donators who made the lottery possible. I'm honestly a little stunned that I won a prize at all, my luck tends to run from 'not great' to 'terrible' so this was a very pleasant surprise. -
Out of 101 ships (of which 3 are T1 'slot fillers' for the collector achievement), I have 22 Premiums and 1 'special' ship (i also have 3 of the new IJN CL's but those don't count). My oldest Premium is either IJN Ishizuchi or USS Smith (which i foolishly sold for an extra port slot and a pittance of credits), i think i got them for free as part of a starter action once. My most recent Premium is HMS Belfast '43, which i got out of a free crate earlier today. My only 'Special ship' is the USS Salem which i recently bought for Coal, i have found her to be an awful lot of fun and a good credit maker. Most of my Premium ships (8 + Salem) are bought with Coal, followed by crate drops (5) and Dockyards (3).

An idea to increase the value and attractiveness of T2-4 premiums
InsipidOyster2 posted a topic in General Discussion
So, I'm starting this thread because I want to share a potential idea that I think could really help increase the attractiveness of low tier (2-4) premium ships. The idea itself is pretty simple and would not require any gameplay changes by Wargaming nor any changes to the ships themselves. The idea is as follows: allow these low tier premium ships to complete ‘regular’ combat missions despite not being tier 5. Now first off, what do I mean by regular combat missions? Well, it's quite simple actually, by this I mean any combat missions that are not specifically rank restricted to very high tier ships like the Supership missions, missions restricted to tier 8 and above ships (such as part of the coal missions during submarine testing) could also be included in this. this means that these regular missions include battle pass missions, common missions, dry dock missions, etc. The reasoning behind this idea is very simple. Currently low tier premium ships are a bad investment and the only real reason to get one is because it's either on such a low discount that the price doesn't really matter, a sense of completionism, or because you're interested in the ship for its historical value. The reason they are such a bad investment is because they cannot be used to complete missions and the increased free XP, convertible XP (for all it's dubious value), and credit gain is so low compared to a T5+ premium or tech tree ship. If you are going to invest money into buying anything at all, a T5+ premium or even premium time is simply a much better investment, but not everyone is willing to spend 20+ bucks on a T5 or higher premium or on premium time. The lower price of T2-T4 premiums would be inside the price range these people would be willing to spend, but the low value after you have reached tier 5 means that these players are unlikely to be interested in them currently. Allowing low tier premium ships to complete missions would increase their value for players because missions provided notable increases in rewards, both economically but also in the form of for example ships from dry dock missions and (as we've need most recent battle pass) ships from Battle pass missions. The downsides are also basically non-existent: Wargaming will see an increase in sales of these low tier premiums and people are going to play these premium ships more if they have them (because you are now not actively hindering yourself economically by playing them). People only have limited time available to play, thus they are going to play whatever ships best balance out the combination of fun and rewards. And currently, low tier premium ships simply cannot compete on economic rewards which makes them a rare sight in game. Now is there a risk of very skilled players using one of these premium ships in a low tier battle to engage in ‘Sealclubbing’? Yes, however I do not think it is a very high risk. After all, if a person really wants to Sealclub, they were going to do it anyway and decide that it was worth missing out on rewards to start with. While some people might start Sealclubbing without the downside of being unable to complete missions, higher tier (T5+) ships, premium and otherwise, will still have better rewards than these low tier premiums. If somebody wants to balance Sealclubbing out with economic rewards, they are still going have to play high tier games to both grind new ships and for the higher economic rewards. I will note one important thing however, if this change is implemented, I do not think it would be wise to increase the prices of low tier premium ships. The very basis of this proposal is to increase the attractiveness of low tier premiums, which are currently not very attractive investments. Increasing the price of low tier premiums after such a change would just result in them being considered less attractive investments again. Anyway, that's basically the entire proposal if anybody has any comments on it or other feedback, I'd love to hear it. -
An idea to increase the value and attractiveness of T2-4 premiums
InsipidOyster2 replied to InsipidOyster2's topic in General Discussion
Currently Wargaming can claim that there is no point in overhauling low tiers because there are almost no players there, but the reason for that is because there are so many issues and there is no incentive to play them once you reach tier 5 (even if you have a low tier premium) it's a self-perpetuating cycle. Giving low tier premiums the ability to complete combat missions gives at least some incentive to play at these low tiers, which means that player counts for them increase, that means that the argument of 'there is no one there' falls increasingly flat. At the end of the day, Wargaming is a company with finite resources that they need to distribute, the proposed change is a small one that is probably simple and quick to implement. However, if it results in more people playing low tier games then it is likely to increase the number of overall players because these low tier games offer alternatives for those players who do not enjoy high tier ones and who without the ability to still complete missions would stop playing entirely (even if they only play PVE it would still be a win for Wargaming because a PVE player can also buy stuff with real cash). More people (retained) playing means more people that might open their wallets for things like premium time or other premium ships, which means that Wargaming might be more inclined to make more changes to low tier games that improve the experience for players and further increase retention. The unlikeliness of Wargaming making beneficial changes to low tier games to rebalance them is exactly the reason why this proposal is focused on Premium ships and increasing the attractiveness of buying them because Wargaming would have a direct and obvious financial incentive to make such a change. The hope is that the secondary effects of such a change might make Wargaming more amenable to improving low tier gameplay. As for the point about focusing on selling 1 Kii over 6 Mikasa's The thing is, these low tier Premiums have already been created, so a small change that likely takes minimal dev time but has a chance to provide a decent pay off would be an attractive investment of time for Wargaming. I am not advocating for new ships here (even though i have several ideas for some), that would simply not work because the return on investment for T5+ ships is so much higher, what i am advocating for is a way to increase the RoI for Wargaming on already existing assets and perhaps win some goodwill from the playerbase at what is likely to be a very low cost to them. Simply put, this proposal is not, and never was intended to be a panacea for the problems with the game at low tiers, instead it is a proposal for a possible first step to improve the game as a whole (and at low tiers especially) that has a low cost of investment for Wargaming but the potentuial for a decent payoff.
