Decided on Marceau, as that'll help promote my Kleber captain - I've got Atago & Hayate for upgrading my IJN commanders. Only had one co-op match in it, but it seems pretty good. Shame there was a Smolensk to spoil the fun though.

Bored with selection of commanders?

You mean you don't want to spend doubloons for Nueve de Julio or Atlântico?? What's wrong with you, comrade? -
Bored with selection of commanders?

Kinda surprised there's not been more special commanders with enhanced skills suitable for each ship class, eg destroyer/cruiser/battleship etc. Eg Halsey is a good fit for Des Moines but how about a Japanese commander with enhanced torp skills for your Shimakaze -
* And I thought this was going to be a Jingles reference

Try Captain Bad Advice - his voiceover is a collection of various grunts , screams & laughs .
-
Doesn't look like it, though that kind of thing would be a nice idea. Something like combining the voice over of a commander (like Jingles or Chapman) with National Voiceover+. So you could have Jingles for all Royal Navy ships or Chapman for all Swedish/PanEuro ships (OK there's an edge case of non-Swedish PanEuro ships like Blyskie) On a side note, I'm kinda envious of players that speak more than one language as having a ship's captain speak his own nation's language probably adds to the immersion. I tried the National+ option with my Scharny and quite liked the voice for the German commander - it's just a shame I couldn't understand him. Thankfully "torpedoes" sounded similar in German.

Yup, I remember. It's a shame they didn't take a step back and consider that forcing subs into existing modes was actually a good idea or not - they obviously had foreseen a potential backlash. But of course WG probably wanted a large volume of stats to analyse (no matter how poor quality it was **) and making subs optional wouldn't have yielded that amount. ** from giving inexperienced players access to T10 subs.

The toxic troll in me suspects it was done so that surface ships couldn't TK a sub team mate. But my more rational side suspects it was to prevent a DD who is dropping depth charges being TK'd by all his team mates dropping everything and focus firing on one enemy sub. Either way it all indicates WG knew that subs were going to be ... let's say ... controversial.
-
Which is why I suggested buffing them. You know ... counter play.

So you feel no responsibility at all to protect your team mates from one of the most toxic classes you've dropped into the MM? When I take a ship into a match I prioritize what it is strong against and my opposite number as I feel I have a duty to protect a team mate that may be vulnerable to it. So if I'm in a CL, prioritize DD then CL to protect my DDs & BBs (from the red DD) If I'm in a BB prioritize CLs/CAs to protect my DDs & CLs, then farm damage on BBs, switch to DDs if they're close / mid range. If I'm in a gun boat DD prioritize enemy DDs to protect BBs (and myself) then CLs/CAs to protect myself then lastly farm BBs for damage. It would a few second "distraction" at most that would allow you to drop fighters somewhere ELSE, thus increasing your ship's capability. That could be easily done while you're flying your squad en-route to your intended target and thus no need to redirect your attack squadron at all so you can keep farming damage. Yeah and you think AA is "effective" too, so forgive me if treat that statement with zero weight.
-
It wouldn't surprise me that he doesn't. How often do you see CVs that never even drop a single fighter squad to intercept a incoming airstrike? A lot of them don't even seem to make the effort to try to protect their allies. So how would they know how (in)effective fighter squads actually are? It's not uncommon for a DD to a have shot down a couple of dozen planes while the "friendly" CV has just about managed single digits. Fighter squadrons are one of few CV buffs I would support Increase patrol range - a lot Increase duration Reduce cooldown Remove spotting, maybe except for minimap Allow CV player to drop fighters using the map, ie different location to where their own airstrike may be.
-
Mentioning that at the start might have been accepted as bit of a compromise and might lessened some of the blowback. The only other compromise that would have been acceptable would have been a range & DPM buff to AA on other ships to provide for the zero-AA class you proposed. But, even then, as other pointed out - why would anyone use a new zero-AA class knowing they'd just be an XP piñata for CVs. You need a carrot & stick when proposing changes - you only proposed the stick.
-
IIRC, he's relatively recently turned to CVs. So back then he probably enjoyed shredding RTS CV planes with CLs. Now that AA isn't what it was he enjoys greifing everything else in CVs. But apparently, even that is too much hard work.

There's a mission in the news article below that has him as the reward https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news_ingame/game-browser/sales-and-events/500th-anniversary-of-the-swedish-navy/

I'm currently grinding my way through the Pan Asian CLs in co-op and they are quite fun. Currently at T9 Sejong. It's quite neat to be able to launch (lots of) torps without worrying about hitting a friendly DD. Same here regarding any £ transactions at the moment.

Lutjens is pretty good as it's fairly easy to trigger his talents, even for a PvE pleb like myself. The heal (from spotting 3 enemy ships) can be quite useful with Weimar in Narai. Back on topic though I'll probably be going for Yoshino. Next might be Marceau as I had quite a bit of fun while recently completing the French DD line.

What, no 86knt Halland torps? I'm dissapointed.

Sub weapon systems overhaul suggestions
NewHorizons_1 replied to Figment's topic in General Discussion
They remember more elegant weapons from a more civilized age. A time before the dark times, before the CV rework, before submarines. -
[Poll] Did you buy the Tier XI "Superships"?
NewHorizons_1 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Annapolis, but it only got used for those supercontainer missions we had a while ago. It'll probably get dusted off for snowflakes. -
Sub weapon systems overhaul suggestions
NewHorizons_1 replied to Figment's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, except leave homing torps for sub vs sub combat only. I'd also reduce the initial cooldown on a sub's hydrophone so that they can hunt each other from the start. -
I'll just leave this here then

What is quite depressing here is how other forum members are having to spoon-feed the damned obvious to the OP. On the flip-side, I'm now mildly curious about British BCs

You might have included leading/trailing white space characters when you copied it.
