Anyone else find it quite funny that half of those ships are actually free? Groningen, Agir & Azuma are all FreeXP ships.

The frame rate setting in preferences.xml isn't preserved after upgrading. I had set this to 100, but for some reason it has been reset to zero $ grep Rate preferences.xml <maxFrameRate> 0 </maxFrameRate> <maxDockFrameRate> 50 </maxDockFrameRate>

From what I have seen most sub players are truly terrible. So all you have to do is wait for them to fail, and when they appear at the bottom of the score board you have a legitimate reason to report them for "Plays poorly" ... because they have. The root cause to many of these issues** is the way WG made access (to subs) far, far too easy. Most are playing at tiers they have never played at before in any other class of ship. Even had one guy in co-op today in U-2501 who have never unlocked a tech tree ship at all - nearly 13k battles at T1 (tier one). Must have used premiums to get access to the T6 & 8 and then leap-frogged straight into T10. Despite the fact he's only played 10 random matches, he's now able to take a T10 sub into such matches. And because subs "underperform" - because most players aren't much good - WG then buff them more than a disgruntled scientist with a gamma ray machine. That of course leads to even more resentment from the rest of the player base and round we go again. ** Lack of balance is a big problem too, of course, but putting them in the hands of mediocre players certainly doesn't help.

Here's an odd one. It's near the end of a co-op match, everyone is shooting at the carrier (HMS Eagle). A Seattle is directly ~2.5km in front of my Gearing and we both have a clear line of sight to the CV that is ahead of us. Yet it is me that is accumulating spotting damage - I can see the counter increasing. Surely the Seattle should have been earning the spotting damage as he was the closest to the carrier.

And this is why access to submarines should require unlocking with the same tier tech tree ships as the sub that is to be unlocked. Just saw this guy in the T10 U-2501, and yes he was useless. I'm sure any combat stats WG garnered from this chap are going to be soooo useful. These are co-op stats, he's only played 10 randoms so it's not like he's a pro in PvP. Only tech tree ship above T1 he has is the T5 Pan Asian cruiser Chunking, probably unlocked from early access by playing the premium ships he has. He has literally never researched any ship ... at all. -
A very easy "hard nope" for me this event, pretty much the definition of a "no brainer" decision. TBH, I'm surprised anyone would go for it given that we're guinea pigs/lab rats/punching bags for sub testing.

I run IFHE (and Heavy HE/SAP shells) on my Atlanta and that's about it. That combo seems to work quite well there. I was rolling around with the idea of using a similar skill set on my Pan Asian cruisers, but I'll probably invest in torp/fire skills instead. Edit: Oh, and thanks @Nauseica for digging up LWM's IFHE guide. Always a laugh to read one of her guides.

Solo defence of the centre cap by citadel sniping in Charles Martel. Probably would have pushed to try and take the cap but there was a damn sub lurking around. Thankfully that cleared off to the flank.

It was a grind, kinda reminded me of Puerto Rico -
I've seen vids where French DD players try to throw of peoples aim by popping the speed boost ... Enemy sees the great plumes of smoke belching out the funnels and thinks "Ah ha! They're running for it. I'll give more lead in my aim" ... and then slow down so that any shots fall in front. Not sure if that would be enough to throw off a air-strike though.

Ship #200 unlocked lask week-ish, the recently TRB buffed Yueyang ... ... and it tech tree stable-mate Jinan. I quite enjoyed the later tiers of both tech trees though the latter was a bit of rush job as I was using it for the FreeXP French cruiser mission. As @principat121 said, ops are good for that. Narai + Wiemar + Lutjens works really well as you can often trigger his talents. -
In addition to @thynscomments about relative tiers XP is also awarded by the percentage damage done, not the raw total. So 5k damage done to a sub or destroyer is probably worth more than 10k done to a battleship. IIRC unrepairable damage, such as citadel hits, are also worth more than repairable damage, eg from fires, too.

Scapa Flow would probably look quite boring as, IIRC, there wasn't a great deal of infrastructure there. Given the great work the art dept has done with the Clydebank dockyard, that would make a good port. -
