Things aren't well when connecting via Steam either. I just end up with a completely black screen - don't even get the luxury of an error message.

Some already can (T6+ USN CLs), but I always thought it was a strange there's two separate AA actions (Def AA & Priority Sector). Why not merge the effects of Def AA into Priority Sector? OK, it would be a buff to many cruisers**, but it's not like AA is overpowered or even adequate. Maybe buff AA on USN CLs to make their AA stand out above other cruisers. ** Priority Sector has shorter cool-down & unlimited charges than Def AA

Bot submarines seem to do ok

One mistake WG have made recently is that ridiculously long cooldown on a sub's hydrophone consumable. A co-op match can be over by the time it is ready to use. When subs were first introduced it was much, much shorter. At that time, within the first few matches I played in subs I was able to locate the two bot subs (with the hydrophone) and sink them both. Those two kills put me 3rd on the scoreboard.

The irony is that it is the surface ships are the submissives, submarines are basically saying "bend over and brace yourself". -
Sometimes I'll get complimented and I've no idea by whom or for what. Kinda feel guilty as I would like to know so I could return the compliment. But, sometimes it's not hard to guess. If you use the "Well done, commander" quick command when someone successfully executes a nicely timed attack, they appreciate the in-chat compliment and will +1 you in return. Agreed, that would not end well otherwise.

You can now reduce the port's frame rate independently to that of the match, by changing settings in preferences.xml $ fgrep -B1 -A1 Rate preferences.xml <renderer> <maxFrameRate> 100 </maxFrameRate> <maxDockFrameRate> 40 </maxDockFrameRate> </renderer>

News, armoury, naval battles, player profiles have been flaky for a couple of years now. You can usually <esc> back to port and try again. But that's a different issue to the OP's

A while ago there was a problem with long loading times in the port that seemed to be related to large contact lists. I don't have much of a contact list and I've had no adverse loading times of ships in the port. So, do those that do have long loading times, such as the OP, also have large contact lists?

I did +1 the Pommern for letting me slide my torps past his ship, and the Napoli for taking on the Moskva. I seem to start accumulating spotting damage when there's ~14min remaining, when I'm around 3km behind the Seattle. BTW: On the subject of replays, how about re-purposing the B-key command wheel? When you press B during a replay, show an overlay** to speed up/slow down/pause with a progress gauge/slider that you can easily use to rewind/fast-forward to an interesting bit of the match. FWIW - I quite like the recorded/actual FPS counters now shown when watching replays. ** instead of quick commands that cannot be used in a replay. Edit: corrected timestamp

That was whole the point of moving the frame rate settings from engine_config.xml to preferences.xml, though. Do it once (in preferences.xml) instead of every time a patch is released (engine_config.xml). Set it and forget it.

Same here, but the value of the <maxFrameRate> tag, for the in-battle frame rate, got reset to zero meaning it is uncapped when you're in a match. Indeed.- 5 replies
