Can we kindly get some more coal BB's in Armory @Devs
NewHorizons_1 replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
There could be some T6s that could be made available for coal. For those that missed them as a dockyard/event rewards, Repulse & Novorossiysk for example. Maybe some of the older premiums (whose sales may be drying up anyway) like Warspite. And one of them, Flint, is quite expensive for a T7 - presumably because it was a former Steel ship. I can understand co-op not being everyone's cup of tea. But for me Randoms have gone trash ... Ops rework should have included forming teams of same tier ships so that they could be still used by newer players in T6s to learn the ropes instead of being dropped in at the deep end against way higher tier ships with often artificially inflated stats (Eg Musashi in Newport with ~130k health). Some T7 ships that do well in ops can still perform (Weimar, Scharny, Atlanta), but yes it's much, much harder work. Sadly I rarely used any of my fave T6s (Leander, Nurnburg, Dido) since. -
More likely your British crew can't understand the Japanese text on the ship's controls. It would be a good April Fool's gag for WG to pull on us though.

That, I'm afraid, is only a matter of time... We've got a hybrid cruiser (Tone **) and hybrid BBs. Then there's cruisers and even a destroyer that can call in an air strike. I suppose the only things missing are BBs that can call in an air strike and ... ... hybrid DDs although that would be a creation so unrealistically fugly even Dr. Frankenstein would shudder at the mere thought of it. ** Actually, given WG's plane addiction, I'm kinda surprised the recently added IJN CLs were not hybrids.

battle pass error no free module swich

I'm trying to follow the train of thought here, but I'm struggling as to why you're digging yourself into a even deeper hole. Didn't notice, or forgot, that the previous battle passes listed demounts But notices that those two BPs included demounts Assumes BP always include demounts (even when they're not listed) Sees a 3rd battle pass is available Assumes this BP includes demounts Either doesn't read what this BP includes or conveniently forgets/ignored the fact that demounts were previously listed Buys the Battle Pass regardless Complains that contents have "mysteriously" changed, despite WG always listing what they contain. Now I'm normally not shy of calling WG out on some of their more dubious business practices, but this is not it. Battle passes have indeed reduced in value (the first was suspiciously too good to last) but WG haven't hidden any of their contents. Yes you have to be careful when making any transaction (not just with WG, but with anyone) but players have always been able to ascertain the value of each individual BP for those that can read and not make wishful assumptions. I'm sorry mate, but I'm afraid you made the mistake here. As the bad guy from Under Siege said "Assumptions are the mother of all f@*% ups". Now you could argue that WG are trying to catch people out by lowering the value of BPs**, but it's on all of us to pay attention to what's included and not fall for that. ** Counter argument to that is everything contained in a BP is listed in the game and you've all the information presented there to make your own judgement as to whether it is value for money (or not). -
Just wait until someone at WG has a major brainfart and decides to make as T11 version of Kitakami with a TRB.

The Royal Navy almost went there (oil fired not coal) ... it didn't work well at all. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_K-class_submarine -

Kinda sounds like Gran Turismo 2 back in the day. It boasted it had 650 cars, but around half of them seemed to be various types of modded Nissan Skylines. Back on topic : I wouldn't mind a decent premium/freemium German destroyer (of any tier) :- something my fleet is noticeably missing. There's Z-44 but that doesn't sound that great. It is odd that there are no T8 coal ships of any class. But, Tirpitz or Massa for coal would be nice (but probably not likely). My approach with coal is wait for coupon and spent it on the really expensive ship you're after. Then when you have enough, buy a cheap coal ship to avoid getting it an SC (or event crate). Being a co-op main, I have the advantage that it's easier to sail a wider range of ships than PvP (I like cruisers, but I'd be bad in randoms with them). Of course, if there's no ship that floats your boat, then you could always use coal to obtain a legendary commander. Maybe get a cruiser for coal and use it operations? -
In co-op it is. Often played badly by complete potatoes that, until recently, I were convinced were badly coded bots.

Kinda surprised this is a big deal anyway. Only time I demount modules is during the very rare occasions they are free. I don't think I've ever wasted dubs on demounts (or port slots for that matter). I used to occasionally use dubs to do the final retraining of a commander when I unlocked a T10 tech tree ship, but not since the commander skill rework. -
Try the NW of England. Train service is so bad that when the drivers went on strike hardly anyone noticed.
-
You missed the phase after it's withdrawn for a period of time they auction the out of it harder than a rabid Ferengi on crack. Then they nerf it.
-
It is, although the Wiki has got this wrong thus it is easy to see how @Deksi_4 was misled. Note, not only the text but also the gold laurels and silver ship icon indicating a special ship. Whereas, in port both the laurels & ship icon are gold as per a full premium ship.

Cunningham's enhanced skill, pre rework, used to be useful. That guy ... nope I'm not seeing it Gotta luv the doc's smirk / bite of lip / semi-face-palm - is that one with bleach vs Covid?

The OG dakka dakka bote. 16x 127mm guns in eight twin gun turrets with a base reload of 4.8 sec. It could even do well in Narai. Although, being so fragile, it was always a bit of a white-knuckle-ride.
-
The whole commander rework was a crate of cans of worms. Small calibre CLs got their range screwed. No more secondary builds for large heavy cruisers. No more fire prevention for large heavy cruisers. Some legendary commanders now have enhanced skills that are next to useless on their nation's ships (Cunningham). Secondary BB builds got (temporarily) nerfed. And let us not forget ... DEADEYE!!! Which screwed cruisers even more as it encouraged BBs to camp at the back even harder to not get detected and get their precious dispersion buff. Oh, and if you were lucky enough to be able to restore a commander's functionality it would often cost two more points at the bargain price of 1.2 million ECXP.

That (and Atlanta) was one of those global changes where players of small calibre cruisers would often use a commander skill to extend the (usually short**) range. The Commander skill rework then constrained that skill to destroyers only so all those small light cruisers got an indirect range nerf. ** I think many players blame T10 Smolensk for that particular nerf as it's stock range wasn't that actually that bad. However, pre-rework it's range could be extended with not only a module but also the old commander skill to something like 19km. Given its good ballistics (high shell velocity), terrifying rate of fire and the fact it could hide in smoke made it sound fairly oppressive to play against. So, as WG couldn't directly change the stats of the ship, they nerfed it (and every other light CL) indirectly. Pile driver to crack a walnut approach. Meanwhile, other, lower tier light CLs, such as T7 Atlanta & Flint couldn't mount the range mod, so they got screwed. So, after much protest, WG reluctantly de-nerfed Atlanta. Then after even more protest they de-nerfed Flint.

is premium ships a golden pinata?

Answers on a postcard. -
Most likely - I have a pair of Jingles - so I can misidentify ships twice as often. She's kinda got the "All shall join the Unity" vibe of the Advent from Sins of a Solar Empire.

Hybrid ships do not belong to battleship tree
NewHorizons_1 replied to Pukovnik7's topic in General Discussion
Nope. That's just Nebraska - the early access tech tree ship. Early access vessels are always "Special" ships like the freemiums Azuma, Kurfurst & Moskva. While it is in the early access phase it does have the advantage you can move commanders to and from it, without retraining costs, but that's about it IIRC. It's one of the reasons I think this battle pass won't be popular as it's a pay-2-skip the grind through Colorado that you can do for free ... eventually. -
Probably would adversely affect DDs and small CLs too much. I remember a couple of years ago WG bumped this up and there was complaints of sea sickness at the time as smaller ships (comparatively) pitched and rolled all over the place. On the subject od weather however, could we have an in-game display of all weather effects? Eg: we get a THUNDERSTORM indication above and to the left of the cross-hair. It would be nice if, when you hold down [CTRL], you can hover the mouse pointer over the icon and get a tool-tip of** Detectability : -10% Spotting range : 30km Shell dispersion : +30% Detectability after firing guns : 7sec ** I had to refer to the wiki to actually find out how a thunderstorm affected the match.

At the time, it seemed a bit of overkill to remove all the stealth/dispersion effects from the silver (non-economic) camos. But, on the other hand, it levelled the playing field a little for newer players who won't (unlike veterans) have shed loads of silver or camos in their inventory. There's a few ships I've dropped some of the more lurid (eg New Year) perma-camos but not many. And back when I was grinding those ships I tended to use the port filter to visually swap it with the default camo. No consolation for anyone else in the match that had to endure the eye-sore, sorry guys! I still think it's a shame WG took the opportunity to screw players when they hand out perma camos as "ooh, shiny" rewards using mechanisms that used to include the XP/credit bonuses but no longer do. Distant Voyages crates & early access events : I'm looking at you here.

Same here.

Hybrid ships do not belong to battleship tree
NewHorizons_1 replied to Pukovnik7's topic in General Discussion
ASW air-strike squadrons also do not spot either. Just a thought ... maybe the only planes that can spot should, oh I dunno, be spotter planes? It would at least give them their namesake role, instead of just a range extender. Kinda of a shame WG hasn't yet followed through with the proposed "planes** only spot ships on the mini-map" change. It would have been interesting to see how it affected gameplay, and might have defused some of the antagonism against plane carrying ships. ** That change could have been constrained to fighters & attack aircraft. -
I ground GK while it was still a tech tree ship and, as it was quite fun, so got the perma-camo for it. When I (eventually) unlocked Preussen I also inherited its perma-camo which has an appropriately Bismarck-esque vibe to it On the other end of the scale, T6 light cruiser Nürnberg. Back when most ops were T6 only it used to be one of my fave picks due its accuracy, long range and rate of fire.

Everyone's favourite explodey T5 cruiser, USS Marblehead. Cue 1920's jazz band playing the Charleston
