What a pointless poll for me, why should I even bother?

Little White Mouse review of the ship. http://shipcomrade.com/?p=3807 I agree with her points mostly, its a Zara that trades already poor DPS for marginally better survivability being spec'd for DD killer but only half way, overall its not really a good ship and honestly, WG should rethink a few things like SAP that would be better off as a selectable ammo type for some nations instead of being pigholed into the Pasta line to make it diferent ignoring history and worst, why HE spam works on cruisers (not that 15 reload timers that would matter).

Peurto Rico - who is actually grinding her
WWDragon replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
I am not sure of that, just because the real stinkers starts at directive 4 and you need to do directive 4 with just one booster and Gorizia missions end on directive 3. Myself used 2 boosters because I was after the coal and steel rewards, as its going it will end at phase 30 of 36 and even if I am going to finish directive 3 I am not sure about directive 4, I hope those 2 extra boosts will be enough. -

Is this some joke? -
Too late to the party on that side ... https://store.steampowered.com/app/24010/Train_Simulator_2020/ But I agree, the problem is player base naturally declines over time but companies seem to be too focused on short term profits and are entirely willing to burn players to meet that profit, until they run out of players ... its not as if there arent enough Warships to work with, they are adding Royal Navy Heavy Cruisers that show there are still sources to add content but they rather try to milk dry everyone to meet quarters. Games usually go easy mode at some point but as I said, why the hell would I want a T10 since they want me to grind 6 times? I wont no matter what their precious metrics says and they gone pants-on tard since how the hell I am suppose to even grind a line when its back to back directives? if they want new players ... here is a hint, DONT MAKE THE GAME SO HOSTILE TO THEM! Research Bureau is entirely hostile to new players and with this what they are telling then is "unless you pay us about 2000 euros dont bother thinking about T10", it might not bother existing long term player as much since they got all that FXP to burn, this is also something I see being done ... they dont attract new players because all they care is drying the existing one from everything they have, new players DONT have those resources to begin and also they DONT have any incentive to stay ... you think its fun to go to random and get blown up by people with premium ships that were removed (not really, still on loot boxes) with 19 point captains? And can I even pay to skip that? No ... have to grind because even PAYING requires grinding. I have no incentives to get a T10 considering what they are tell me is "hey, have to grind 6 times a line just so you can get a upgrade that puts you at even ground with other players", might as well stick with co-op and not bother.
-
My thoughts exactly, most casuals spend money because ... surprise, they are casuals and as PR shows, WG isnt interested in locking T10 behind a skill grind as much they are in "not really selling" *wink* a T10, heck I have Alaska and how I got Alaska? it wasnt FXP thats for sure.
-
Sure, I have ... about 200k FXP so unless I dump Gold for the 1m XP that is spread around my Premiums ... no, I dont because my option is spend about 40k gold to unlock a single tier T10 and THEN I have said 3 months (not really because back to back events/directives) to get that single upgrade. Research Bureau seems to me to be designed entirely about making people spend money for FXP, I guess with this "move" its not working well now is it? All you people are doing is devaluing the T10 ships because why bother? As far I and most players are concerned the Research Bureau is a non-entity and by doing this I am far less inclined to bother with T10 ships at all since all they do is another wallet attempt.
-
So the PR fiasco wasnt enough and now you want to gate the Legendary upgrades behind the "oh so beloved" RB ... whats the matter? people arent spending money for FXP? <Insert expletive here> this.

Its more they never used the Yamatos offensively until Leyte, despite having the chance, if I remember Yamato was so long on in port she got the nickname of Hotel Yamato. The ships you name at least had reasons why. Roma could not be deployed considering the fuel shortages that pretty much made the Regia Marina a non-entity, Tirpitz despite not doing anything still forced the Royal Navy to keep forces in reserve to keep her in check, Hood was present at the most honorable engagement of Mer-el-Kebir and her sinking was certainly memorable, Richelieu had the fate of the French Navy were it didnt do anything during the war but still seen some action postwar (so did Jean Bart). Despite the Yamatos having the biggest navy guns, the 40 cm/45 Type 94, they were never actually used until far too late and the Japanese Navy had no excuses for that and when they did it was with such poor results. Also the Iowas werent exactly smaller and were much better deployed by the US Navy.
-
I guess he was talking about Yamato surviving the battle, the famous Yukikaze destroyer for example was present and that ship not only survived the battle but the war and also was awarded to the Republic of China where she remained in service (in fact that ship have a very interesting history being known as a good luck as well as a curse, amazing enough all her 4 captains survived the war with only 10 crewman casualties during the whole war). In fact in the battle Yamato fired on the USS White Plains where it one of the shells of the 3rd salvo exploded underwater under her keel near the engine room, the shockwave from the underwater explosion caused mishap such as tripping the circuit breakers of her electric grind besides damaging the hull but it also saved the ship, the explosion also caused black smoke to rise from the ship that lead Yamato to believe she had sunk and switched targets, White Plains escaped the battle despite being Yamato first target, Yamato second target was the USS Johnston with her secondaries, Johnston survived the encounter but not the battle as the ship was finished off by Yukikaze after the ship was abandoned (with her captain saluting the ship), followed by firing on the USS Raymond that also survived the encounter and the war, then on the USS Hoel that had fired her torpedoes at Yamato forcing her to turn north and more important in that, to lose contact with the battle (important as she was the Kurita flagship so he lost contact with his forces) with Hoel being sunk by Kongo and that was about it for her record, There is a reported hit on the USS Gambier Bay with Kongo also reporting a hit but Gambier Bay records a near miss. So ... no actual kills, all the ships she fired on either survived or were sunk by other ships, still a better record that Musashi who ended up as target practice.

[RESULTS] Pearl Harbor - Fight for Arizona

Casuals already ignore ladder events because they cannot really compete. This is why I like clearly defined goals instead of a race I cannot possibly win just so I can get into a lottery were the people at the top of the race have better odds. -
Yes, apparently its 8500 doubloons and the cost is looking at NA shop around 31 euros for the basic version, there are the usual two others (the one with a 6 skill captain and flag and the even more expensive one with a 10 skill captain a load of consumables because "value")
-
I been looking at NA forums and it seems you can actually get the ship now ... if you pay ... a lot. Just activate all Golden Boosts and you get to the stage were you can buy the ship, this kinda shows the main issue with this whole thing that is, you can buy the ship downright or wait and buy the ship cheaper, I think if you just buy all the boosters you can actually get the ship ... even with just 2 boosters it seems possible but ... Its hidden, deliberate hidden behind a "fun" event that obscures its cost and thus people got in a uproar and the fact they are hiding the cost with the whole construction thing is they are trying to deceive people, I mean if you get all boosts that puts its cost around inline with premium ship costs it seems you get the ship so why they try to hide that behind the entire construction mechanic and are unwilling to just say "if you want the ship just buy the boosters and dont worry about it or just buy 2 boosters and then activate the free ones you get from daily shipments and daily and should be enough", in fact why is it so hard to a answer out of our CM that are so evasive, ignore questions or deflect then entirely as if they had anti-interrogation KGB training? Why cant they just tell us how boosters work, as much we might [edited] and moan I think if they just told us "the gold boosters are enough and you can just do it with 2 +5 of the free ones" then we would not be in such a uproar about this because its not just we can buy the ship (because according to NA we totally can) but rather they are so damn evasive about if we can do it and their costs. If they tell me, "use 3 gold boosters from the start and around January 11 the ship is done" then I will consider it in a more serious light but instead they are so focused on the Directories (that are BS) and the grind as if they are really trying to sell the notion you can just have the ship for free thats a lie, I cannot because there is no way in hell I can do it without having to buy premium ships, my only Tier V+ IJN ship is the Kaga and if it asks me to spend 24k doubloons or far more in buying premium ships so I can get it "for free" ... I want to know what my options, not a CM that is assuring everyone that "with a little more work and commitment" I can get it for free because thats not true and they know it or should know it.
-
No, you dont. I checked and if I spend about 38k doubloons I could convert to about 1m FXP ... then I could simply unlock the entire IJN BB tree with it and I would have a T10 ship. "Easy" depends on the size of your wallet and willingness to grind and this the problem with this crappy "event" ... WG is hoping people dump their money in boosters and fail to get the ship because look at the requirements, even if you use the pay boosters you arent assured to get the ship and thats my real issue with this whole crap show, they are trying to make people to spend money on something they arent likely to get because the pay boosters alone arent enough. And then, several months later they will sell the ship as a Premium.
-
24,000 doubloons for 'premium' Puerto Rico boosters.

Of course not because either a) we would find out that number is wrong or b) it confirms what we already know. -

No, its not ... moment you said time investment its the moment its NOT free. And none of this look as a "significant" but rather as "hellish", if this is true I am not even going to bother and I dont care if its a Tier X ... its a scale up Alaska and you are asking people to grind WELL OVER TWO ALASKAS! -

Actually ... There are 36 phases so if you get to 18 you can downright buy the thing, I am only unsure if the cost goes down the more phases you complete or its a fixed cost. -

I think we are getting our lines crossed, there was someone pointing out there are less ships this year because with the exception of that ship, all ships are at least Tier V. My point was that there might be overall less ships but for new players, there are better chances of useful ships because anything under Tier V kinda isnt as useful for then. -

My Jean Bart (I got the 200% coupon OK, that why I have her) got something like 250k XP on her, cannot be used to get the Republique. (Its also my only French ship) I think the last time I checked my conversion would give something like 1m XP, as far I am concerned if you are going to spend money do it properly ... getting a ship under Tier V is basically spending less money for a entirely dead end, you are locked out from dailies with then because, again, under Tier V doesnt count (I also got a Twitch Mission that required a Tier VII+ Italian ship so there is that as well and no, I didnt found it funny) and any XP you gain on a Tier V- ship you gain more on a Tier V+ ship and so do more with it. My point stays, buying a Tier III ship thinking that +50% XP is going to get you faster into the Tech Tree line is a trap, if new player either go Tier V+ or dont bother with Premiums and just do Tech Tree Line until you can do dailies and then think about getting Tier V premiums for the Directories such as "get X damage with a Tier V+ carrier" because thats fun for a new player aint it? Edit: I said under Tier V, Tier V works fine but under it ... doesnt qualify for about everything and that is the issue, they simply are a waste. -

Premium ships are a bit of trap because if you use them, its XP that is being held ransom until you pay WG so anything under Tier V Premiums are even worst for new players as they stuck with a completely useless ship for their progression as what matters is Tech Tree progression, higher level ones at least can be used for the dailies and captain training purposes. Sure, they could skip the padding but the padding is there so you spend more and more, I mean they could make the Containers costing the same as the ship and give a random ship that could be up to +2 tiers so Mega Container would cost the same as a Tier VII ship but could potentially give a Tier IX ship, of course there would be problems with that, if you have the ship you get money back and just use another and then another until you get a tier up ship so I get why they have to make something that simply cannot be "re-rolled" indefinitely but they are ways to do that (such as limiting the amount of containers you could buy with Doubloons), as much I would like to have the Big E and Musashi for historical value I am not going to drop a grand on gambletron that would just leave me as :sad panda: since I know full well the system is made to prey on people that want specific ships as its the only way to get then and I want no part of that. -

Anything under Tier V is pointless, I would even further argue anything under Tier VIII is meh because of scaling. So removing those except the FORBIDDEN ships its good for players because they at least can use then to get the dailies done as anything under Tier V doesnt count so what do you people want? ships you wont buy or use to be on the list? Speaking on the FORBIDDEN ... so they arent a issue when they are under a Loot Box system so as long people are willing to pay 7-8x times their old cost, its balanced? I have to point this out. As for the paper ship, I am not that invested on a Alaska with more armor and a extra turret ... I wait until people do the math, its pricey alright plus the grind that is what turns me off the whole thing, there are some other ships thats alright since I only have the Italian one (as I got Monte and would use the XP I got on it if Trento didnt decided to drop on my last container making the damn thing dropping entirely pointless) and I guess its more port slots so ... OK I guess? -
I use National+ and always been American voice with him for me.I also use National+ because HSF captains voices werent working on National as far I remember.
-
No, he doesnt ... he speaks as a American (not British English, American English).
-
Because they use consumables as padding, basically its a way to make the players to play more and so more likely to spend money or in the loot boxes case, a way to give complete trash and tell people how much they saved by getting crap they never wanted. I am allergic to consumables as I am one of those guys that would have 999 health potions on the final boss and not use then for reasons but I know companies love consumables because its a nice way for then to give "rewards" that have no lasting impact.
