    Ludendorff for?

Well, here is the thing ... the Kriegsmarine only existed within a very specific timeframe and since WG doesnt want to recognize neither the Kaiserliche Marine or the Reichsmarine and this is about a H-Class battleship then we are left on how ships were named during that time. Hitler did not wanted names connected to either the Party or Germany to be names of ships (thats why Deutschland got renamed) , Hitlerhausen would never happen as Erich Ludendorff died in 1937 and being a important figure of the the German Army during the Great War, his name was perhaps one that could be used on new ships. Problem is Wargaming is naming ships after Kaiserliche Marine ships instead of looking at how the Kriegsmarine named ships, Tripitz and Bismarck were Großadmirals so why not use Holtzendorff that was also one and died in 1919 or Koester that died in 1928, those names are not exactly "tained" instead of opening wikipedia and see the list of ships of the Kaiserliche Marine.
  3. Odin is heavily armored and I think its immune to bow shots even from Yamato caliber due to a 60mm plate or at last that is what I read even if I could be wrong about the plate thickness numbers. But the problem to me is, 305mm guns are not even going to overmatch the upcoming battlecruisers (Champagne and Slava) that are supposed to have very little protection in exchanged for railguns and they have such poor parameters leading to a situation were Odin is forced to brawl simply because there is no choice but brawling with secondaries that have the issue with the poorly conceived angles so it have to angle and in the end Odin is going to take more damage overall simply because it cannot reliable remove opponents with its main battery, a problem that doesnt exist to its opponent leading to yet another ship that is stuck on the match doing nothing for the first half because it simply cannot afford to trade blows as well lacking range and taking a BB slot in the process.
  4. I thought it was 3x3... didnt bother to check ... then again, I guess H-Class hull does have 4 turrets and it is a H-Class but then again I never remember how many turrets does the H-Class was supposed to had.
  5. Well, that is exactly that ... its Tier 7 and since odd tier it means its less likely to face CVs. Simply outside people division to trick the MM, a Tier 7 ship will never face face Tier 10 and sure, that is true for all ships of the same tier but at worst it will never see Midways, Smols, Thunderers and Kremlins as the worst CV it can face are the Tier 8 (basically +1/-1 vs CVs) as Odin can see the entire upper range of CVs (6,8 and 10) and Aegir will always see Tier 8 or Tier 10 CVs. Odd tier ships are favored simply because of CV tiers dont exist at odd tiers, of course Gneisenau can see Iowas but being -2 is a risk all ships unless they are 9 and 10 that have their own problems of being at that tier.
  6. Well Gneisenau is favored by MM were every other ship have issues, Aegir have same guns as Odin but have some improvements since as cruiser its a 2.05 sigma with 203 m dispersion but the secondaries were nerfed (unlike Siegfried that retains its old values) so I would say Agir overall is better that Odin as at least they are more accurate and with a faster reload. The real uptied Gneisenau is Siegfried having 380 as a Tier IX cruiser, protected torpedo launchers (in the hull) that also happen to be the G7a T1 (Tirpitz) and not the G7 Steinbutt, 7.5 km range on secondaries and same armor scheme on both Aegir and Siegfried, gets Hydro too and I am going to stop reading Siegfried stats now as its making me upset, really ... IT HAVE SPOTTER/FIGHTER ON TOP OF ALL THAT! Now the downside is ... its a cruiser so far less armored that Odin and of course being Tier IX means they Sieg/Aegir can face from Tier VII to X as Odin can potential face Tier VI as Gneisenau should never see Tier X. On the other hand, there is Ludendorff or Klinkerhoffen or whatever they decided to call it, 3x3 380 mm guns (Siegfried guns), NON STUPID secondary arrangement so you can actually go bow in and dont have blocked secondaries (unlike Odin) forcing you to angle and Hydro! (no planes however), I would not call Klinkerhoffen or it its Kinderüberraschung? a tier 6 Gneisenau even if the guns are kinda worst that Odin in accuracy (1.8 sigma, about the same dispersion) but same barrel number and 380 mm make it more competing as a BB that Odin will be as one. Overall, if you can get Siegfried I would take it because they really overpowered that ship or at least Aegir is so much worst that we can even say "The Chad Siegfried vs the Virgin Aegir" even if the armor will not be as good as Odin. Hasselhoff in the future maybe even if more of a proper BB.
  7. Well to start, yes they do ... this is why ships have their current configurations but this is not the point I want to make now. There are performance differences outside caliber just like there are turret arrangement differences, Colorado have 8 barrels but turrets are 2 fore/2 aft meaning the ship have to broadside to fire as bow in removes 2 turrets from the equation and so those 8 became 4 and Sinop have 9 barrels but its awful turret rotation means it rarely broadsides and that removes the rear turret so it fires 6, this makes Sinop a higher threat that Colorado just on barrel count alone bow in. In theory, and this is the part I want to stress, is that Gneisenau is similar to ships of her tier, if you put it against Lyon you get a bow in 4 vs 4 with Lyon having worst caliber but then we get all different parameters and as I do agree that Odin is closer to Gneisenau because the overmatch ability simply isnt there, with Gneisenau in theory you can engage other BBs as with Scharnhorst that should be a far riskier proposition, doesnt mean its true ... after all Jean Bart can be a really scary battleship despite "only" having 380mm guns ... that happen to be on 2x4 on the bow with high velocity as well a reload booster in a all nice package, its secondaries are "on paper" nice but like Odin its placement leads to ... issues even I am sure the French designers put then there because of a blind side on the rear as to provide some defense against cruisers as in WOWS that a different subject. The problem I have with Odin is that I dont see a reason to have yet another German Battleship with bad guns, torpedoes and secondaries when the same ship exist at the same tier, except having more barrels and Hydro with lower caliber as I feel the ship is in theory penalized for having Hydro but that is not justifiable as having such nerfs, I mean they did nerfed the reload from 20 seconds to 27 seconds before going to 23 seconds and I do feel the ship simply isnt THAT different that Tirpiz besides Tirpiz guns being at least less bad.

    Kaga Build

Kaga is more or less standard IJN carrier build except you might want to get DE since Kaga diver bombers are HE and not AP. As for modules, well IJN carriers build for concealment because their aircraft benefit from it so Concealment System Modification 1 carries more benefits that on other carriers with worst plane concealment and honestly, Squadron Consumables Modification 1 isnt exactly something you need on Kaga with planes being already fast as they are and low HP as they are so forget about healing your torp bombers in any meaningful way as for Aerial Torpedoes Modification 1 ... well the thing is Kaga torpedoes are 50 knots so that would be 52.5 knots that is not worth compared with 5 seconds of attack time that along with concealment can make your torpedo bombers start a attack run with very little warning, plus you can take torpedo acceleration as the 2 point skill since the other option is improved engines that works on Kaga planes as well since IJN planes are fast but squishy and thus you get more out of those 2.5% but the real problem is Kaga torpedoes arming time that is just too long. I dont think Kaga changed that much since none of the new modules really affected her.
  9. Those are errors, will fix then. That is also another error, also will fix them. Edit: Also my argument is that Gneisenau is not overall different in terms of caliber that other battleships of the same tier as Odin caliber is significant lower that battleships of that tier where you have to go 3 tiers lower to find a match, just like Scharnhorst guns are of a small caliber that of battleships of the same tier and that Odin is more as a "supercruiser" since Alaska and Ägir have same caliber, similar at how Scharnhorst despite being a battleships is more of a battlecruiser/supercruiser due to its lower caliber guns however Odin guns simply lack on performance to fill that role.
  10. Because Scharnhorst have the historical 283mm guns as Gneisenau have the 380mm both ships were meant to receive as part of their refit, her torpedoes were nicked from Nürnberg and Leipzig and were not part of ship when launched (neither were Scharnhorst and Tirpiz launchers that were also nicked). Gneisenau 380mm are the same guns on Bismarck and Tirpiz but Gneisenau is tier 7 and have torps so it its a 3x2 instead of a 3x3 but Lyon is 4x4 340mm so it have less overmatch potential that Gneisenau, King George V have 2x4 and a 1x2 356mm so caliber difference is still worst but more barrels, Nagato have 4x2 410, Colorado 4x2 406mm and Sinop 3x3 406mm being the ones that have larger caliber with Sinop having more barrels and Nagato a extra turret. So Gneisenau guns caliber are within the top of the tier 7 BBs, number of barrels is different being the same as Colorado and less that everyone else but besides Sinop and Nagato but with said everyone else also having lower caliber, this means in theory Gneisenau can engage Tier 7 BB more or less in the same terms having the same similar potencial, Scharnhorst cannot as it have the same caliber of the Tier 3 Nassau. In fact Odin have 3x3 305mm guns that happen to be König gun caliber, that is a Tier 5 battleship but König is 5х2 so it have a extra barrel even if they are, of course, different with König dispersion being 224m and Odin being 250m and Odin sigma being 2.0 as König being 1.8 (if not wrong) meaning outside range, Odin have the accuracy and caliber of a Tier 5 battleship, meaning Odin is not the same as Gneisenau that basically have the guns of a Tier 8 battleship but with shorter range and less barrels that the ones on the Tier 8 but better dispersion. You cannot compare Odin with Gneisenau, Odin guns are inferior to Gneisenau guns simply because they are 305mm, they cannot overmatch battleship armor that Gneisenau guns can as the differences on sigma and dispersion are too minor to matter, Odin 3 extra barrels wont matter due to caliber as Gneisenau caliber means they can engage battelships.

    Hamburg Dockyard Progress (HDP)

Should be 6 if directives only, 14 if you got the starter pack along with directives or more if you buying progress with gold. Also yes., shipbuilding stages are 1 for completing the directive and 2 more at each directive as directives, one of Directive 2 that given shipbuilding stage token was getting 180,100 XP total.
  12. The problem is Odin is being put at the same tier as Bismarck and Tirpiz that are already ships with secondaries and in Tirpiz case, with torpedoes and in Bismarck case with hydro. The guns have 2.0 sigma and 250m maximum dispersion but it have less HP that Scharnhorst yet it can potential face Tier X something that Scharnhorst doesnt but then we have the new German supercruisers, Agir and Siegfried both with more HP being "only" one tier up, both with torpedoes and both with hydro. So what is Odin outside being a uptiered Scharnhorst with hydro? And a hydro it pays a lot of HP for ... if Odin have say a improved repair party to offset its low HP that could be in same ways justified however as it lacks anything to make up outside "it have hydro" that is utterly useless against enemy BBs, a ship that can hunt cruisers is fine however it reminds me of the Italian Cruisers that sure, they have SAP that make DDs cry but are stuck with such a reload time they cannot really capitalize on SAP lacking ROF to do so (until Tier IX and X when barrel count mostly offsets that problem), at 23 seconds reload with 9 barrels Odin also cannot capitalize on that, every cruiser have better ROF but with smaller caliber but they also have less HP to go against with Odin that with other BBs as other BBs can simply engage knowing it have less capacities that a true BB since its torpedoes have a 6km range, its dispersion even if better that Scharnhorst is still worst to be a proper cruiser killer and trying to slug it out at range will be poorly for Odin (image trying to do that against a Atago). The reason its not "exciting" is Odin ends up being a anti-cruiser battleship but her guns are simply crap ... Alaska have 305s with 20 seconds reload, 207m dispersion and 2,05 Sigma and if Odin is "suppose" to be a ant-cruiser ship then the gunnery needs to be tighten up or its ROF increased, the reason I am looking for Anchorage is because its a American Cruiser with torps and smoke ... Odin is just a German BB with torps and hydro with bad gunnery, just like Tirpiz is except Tirpiz is more likely to remain alive that Odin because it have more HP and can deal with larger threats, just because Odin have Hydro that WG overvalues because, lets be honest here, Hydro is nice but since it uses changes makes it something you pop if you think there are fishies coming your way and not a "I can see tops now" and then we have range, its Bismarck hydro so 100 seconds with 3.4/5km range that is not going to make you detect DDs unless you decide to charge smoke and the DD have no idea you are doing that until that hydro icon pops up and they get ready to send all the torps they have on your 52,800 hp BB with 22% protection and torps are citadel damage. And that it, its not that I would not like Odin to be a cruiser killer ...its just 6km torps with poor angles and guns that simply will not perform in that role lacking ROF and accuracy, its not that it cannot be fixed ... improve accuracy and the ship will have a role in battle, as it stands the ship is "situational" and we all know what that means. Edit: In fact just giving Odin improved secondaries like the Americans would make the ship stand up, why exactly does Odin have to give so much in the name of balance is beyond me, especially when Siegfried is allowed to be released in that state but hey, I guess overpowered ships are fine as long they are RB ships since the best type of balance is the bank account balance.
  13. Why? Scharnhorst have 3x3 283mm guns as Gneisenau have 3x2 380mm as otherwise they are the same ship but Scharnhorst is undergunned as a Tier 7 battleship, Lyon have 4x4 340mm. Odin is 3х3 305mm that makes it even LESS armed that Gneisenau and with a 23 second reload with Gneisenau 26 and Scharnhorst 20, Gneisenau is meant to be a proper BB as Scharnhorst is a cruiser killer, Odin with 305's is simply LESS capable of engaging battleships that Gneisenau simply because of worst capability of overmatch armor and thus can only do one thing, engage cruisers meaning its role is the same as Scharnhorst. The ship pays a lot for Hydroacoustic Search that isnt the first time WG done this, they did the same with Duke of York, is Duke of York a good ship?
  14. Its actually Azure Lane Littorio.
  15. Apparently in WoT the maintence costs can be higher that the credits you get from the battle as in WoWS that is much harder to pull outside leaving the battle ealier or running a CV on Co-Op without Premium time.

    ST 0.9.6, new ships

Exactly, London have less range but also better concealment and I dont see people claiming London is overpowered and having a spotter over smoke with text saying ANCHORAGE tells everyone what there and having plane means no Hydro so you either self spot in smoke and risk being torpedoed or run Hydro and rely on the team for spotting.

ST 0.9.5, changes to test ships

Pretty sure that name is from Project 82 and Stalingrad was actual build ... kinda, all 3 ships were cancelled and Stalingrad hull was at 70% completed and was just used for weapon testing. But this is kinda of why people are getting pissy, Ludendorff makes sense because WG cannot have the Kriegsmarine and then pretend everything else from that time period didnt exist as this whole "lets not offend anyone" act is getting annoying after 6-7 years of walking on eggshells to appease a mob that will never forgive or forget. If they wanted consistence they could name it after the other Kaiser class battleships, Prinzregent Luitpold for example and this would receive less blacklash instead of BAD MAN NAME BAD! that is really pissing people off. Also if WG is that concerned how about giving the German ships from WW1 their Kaiserliche Marine ensign just like Russian ships are separated in Imperial and Soviet ensigns? Or is that too much work?

    ST 0.9.6, new ships

No, its actually a Tier VIII Flint with 4x3 203 mm instead of 6х2 127 mm but retaining 2 of the 127mm turrets as secondaries and adding 4 single 127mm guns as well. Also 533 mm quad launcher like Atlanta/Flint (but apparently better protected as its not on the deck) and Smoke Generator like Flint, the main differences is that Atlanta/Flint have Defensive AA Fire as Anchorage have Hydroacoustic Search isntead as well having Spotter/Fighter that Atlanta/Flint dont. Also it looks more like Atlanta (there are of course notable differences) that Baltimore, its Aviation system looks to be in the middle within the the smokestacks as Baltimore catapult is on the stern. Edit: Its actually Buffalo Hull more or less.

    Japanese Carrier Submarines

K-class submarines were originally planned to have a seaplane scout (they were weird ones with 100 mm guns) but they abandoned the idea when the planned seaplane wasnt very durable. They could do that, it would be not entirely that different from the Surcouf (just twice the guns for half the caliber) and the seaplane was likely the Chyetverikov SPL. Also the Regia Marina did build the Ettore Fieramosca with a hangar but it was removed in 1931, it was also originally designed with a 203 mm gun in mind but it got a 120 mm instead, it seems she was slower that intended, not maneuverable and too expensive in both cost and maintenance so they only build one, was scrapped in 1941 after a battery explosion. Edit: If you are talking about Soviet submarines in general, they had more that a few classes deployed, if the S-Class is the Tier VI I suppose the Shchuka will be the previous tier and the Dekabrist before the Shchuka, there is also the Leninets that even if was a minelayer it still had tubes (6 or 6/2) that was based on the British L-Class submarine or the HMS L55 to be more specific.

    Japanese Carrier Submarines

The I-400s only carried 3 M6A1 Seiran and Surcouf only carried a single Besson MB.411, both were seaplanes as the Seiran was bomber (it was created for attacking US cities) the MB.411 was a spotter. Only the I-400 and AM classes carried bombers (as AM also carried the Seiran, a grand total of 2 of then that was also the I-400 initial max capacity for airplanes) with the rest of the carrier submarines only having spotters. I dont know whats more toxic, so called "broken classes" or people thinking this is Reddit and engage on the circlejerk, the FACT is those submarines existed and their capabilities were very minor, at best it would be a submarine with a special spotter plane that I dont think it would anything outside being a liability as it would telegraph the position of the sub to everyone. At the very worst it would have a single HE bomber flight composed of 3 aircraft that would be so laughable ineffective that would be mostly a curiosity even if they made then level bombers with a small reticle since the I-400 had eight bow tubes (no aft tubes) putting it at least at Tier 8 and so those planes would be of dubious use.

Weekly Combat Missions: the Hunt for Bismarck

Two problems. First is Mikoyan, its a T5 Soviet Cruiser that is from before the line splits and thus is utterly pointless as a part of the event as its not a Heavy Cruiser and also its a Premium so there is no way to use it to start the new line. Second is the drop rate and costs, I am not even allow to save up and just get the Tech Tree Tier VIII as I am forced to buy a camo and Mikoyan before it forcing me to be dependent on both luck as well the Premium store ... people dont like RNG systems but this is piling the RNG system even to the Premium store, its like finding ways to exploit people that leads to a situation were events are more concerned about the event monetization scheme that getting players to participate in said event. So this event is USELESS for the Soviet Heavy Cruiser line because access is effectively gated behind a pay wall as players have better odds of winning the lottery that actually getting early access to the Soviet Heavy Cruiser line ... unless they buy the Premium ships thats the whole point of the event isnt it?

    tier 8 implacable help!

Stop playing that worthless piece of crap and FXP to Audacious and even then its a waste of FXP. Also stock planes arent good, I dont think its unlock planes are even good and being at T10 with a T8 CV is going to hurt, especially with this floating garbage that cannot really perform event at T8 let alone at T10.

    Soviet Cruisers: Early Access

The problem people have is the token disparity, if you guys want to sell EA with tokens so people that want EA to Tier IX would have to buy then that would be one thing ... rng on pay-only containers is gambling and disgusting.

    Tier IX German BB Ludendorff

To be fair, the only place you can semi-historical go up from the Bismarck is the H-Class proposals with this ship being a "refit" of a hypothetical H-39 with new turrets, "improved" AA as well getting torpedo tubes like Tirpitz, Gneisenau and Scharnhorst received and quite frankly they are rather sane as it would be easier to use 380mm on a triple arrangement that make new barrels as Gneisenau and Scharnhorst were meant on a dual arrangement to but never did, nothing here is entirely fantasy. I get people dont like being 380 and rather they were 406 but then it would be a Friedrich der Große with torps instead of plane, maybe people would like it with 800mm guns since Schwerer Gustav existed, but the hull is the Friedrich der Große that is based on the H-39 so its not fantasy and far more grounded that other H-class proposals like the H-42, H-43 and H-44 that they werent even seriously considered.
