    The gospel of Femennenly

I read their post, they said that became of the initial short timeframe they had to pick a existing hull, that was Monarch instead of a Fiji Ceylon group since I assume they meant HMCS Quebec making very much sense (since Ceylon Group have a slightly different hull and thus requiring a altered model). As for design ... well, again ... None of that seems to me gameplay balance but rather gameplay design, something that clearly WG wasnt going to allow to players to come up with ... her design idea was of a more accurate Monarch with crappy armor at Tier VII with exhaust smoke as GW gone in the opposite direction.

    The gospel of Femennenly

I have some serious doubts that NA office would be either thinking that or telling anyone that. Ultimately it would have to go by the main development team that, whatever people like it or not, are responsible and held responsible for what is on the game, companies that allow player content do retain the ability veto or remove said content and usually dont go as far as allowing players to design a ship because thats a hell of a responsibility that requires oversight, no matter what opinion you have of that person, its still going to have a very noticeable impact in the game. I assumed they were thinking on the ship name and hull with the other details being filled by WG studio, of course they only gone as far as the hull being the Monarch as all other aspects of the design were overruled, if people want to lambast WG for that ... sure but beyond that?
  3. Its still crap because it was designed as a gunboat when stealth firing was a thing, something the ship was never properly compensated for. Atlanta and Flint are other examples that were designed as destroyer skill cruisers and then come the skill rework and shat on then because they have the wrong skill tree, Atlanta was so unplayable it had to be buffed from the start as Flint got the usual "balans" passes because apparent admitting they made a mistake goes against the very core of the company. I can offer other examples, such as Duke of York that come out with one less heal because hydo or Tripitz secondaries having shorter range that her sister, Bismarck because torpedoes ... both were rectified later, maybe at one point Hizen gets her missing heal charge but these arent "buffs", those are correcting bad decisions.

Constellation will be released this weekend

She is Tier VIII that kinda rules out everything except doubloons, of course they could release her for other currencies but unlikely.

O dear god they buffed the Dutch airstrike

Thats cute but that isnt true now is it? Dutch cruisers as far I can tell have the exact same spotting mechanics as everyone else as for hybrids, not only that is also true but if you are using your planes for spotting guess what you ARENT doing? And we have the case of Ise with pathetic torpedo damage (only a danger to parked in smoke DDs and even then I have doubts they can be downright sunk), Tone is even worst off since same planes as Ise with Kearsarge Bearcats existing in a highly dangerous environment with a single 3 plane squadron I dont give then much of a life expectation if they attempt to strike. No ship in the game can spot a ship and strike it from any distance, rules dictate spotting ranges as well weapon deliverance limits and saying so its a incredible crass generalization of the game mechanics.

    Kaga or Graf Zeppelin

Kaga is functional even if you can get some bad habits from playing her. GZ is a steaming pile of nerfs due to the rework and continued "balans" towards CVs, dont let the screeching anti-CV fool you, if GZ was the example of CV play then the class would be dead.
  7. Apparently you learned nothing from the test. Go on, say this is a "historical" game because submarines as they stand only have a superficial resemblance to their real counterparts in all aspects, this is simply NONSENSE. Also please try to appease the mob that screeches about everything because you never ever going to make then happy and spend money, submarines were barely playable in the last testing run and they still screech at the mere idea of then.

Yukon in the Armory and Premium Shop

The Canadian naval ensign was the British white ensign until 1965, thats why Commonwealth ships all have the option to fly the British white ensign. Not sure what flag Mysore have as a option since when she was acquired by the Indian Navy had already changed their ensign with the Indian Tricolor replacing the Union Jack, its almost as their current ensign that includes the emblem of India in the intersection of Saint George Cross with the national motto written in Sanskrit under the emblem.

    Black captain shortage

Well the technical reason is that there are a limited number of portraits, they could and have added unique Commanders but beyond that they would need to add to the portraits leading to honestly I dont care really, its just a portrait that I see on the harbor that have about zero influence on the game ... I wonder exactly why OP cares so much, sounds like a lazy implying if you get my drift.

    LWM review of Yukon

I am sure companies also frowned upon their garbage being labeled as such, maybe they should take criticism and not double down. Its entirely obvious that players dont like the long reload shortguns of USN BB split line, Hizen run afoul by being developed at the same time and so being a IJN Minnesota (a ship, mind you, that was buffed) and despite their unpopularity they keep doubling down, the RM BBs follow exactly the same principle leading to being unpopular and yes, we still see then as people are trying to get to the next tiers of the line and are more common the the USN split line. "This is the way" says who the hell is responsible for this idea and my years on gaming tell me they either relent or depart the company later, my experience tells me that game developers on leadership roles are incredible stubborn about their "design idea" and will stick with it as the game population collapses until either dead game, are forced by the upper management to do it or ... are replaced with the replacement knowing what going on. She actually stop giving a Angry YT rating about a year or so ago ( because people werent reading the review and just skipping to the rating), note how Anchorage review lacks one or Ise more recently, the fact Yukon got one should say a lot on how she feels about this and yes Hizen got one as well because she doesnt like the ship and she wrote that she "think(s) she performs fine", I dont like Hizen either because those guns are bad and asking players to "fight at mid range" is a bad idea because with Setsuna I know what my distances should be and can control the engagement, Hizen needs to control the engagement distances but she is slow and her concealment is terrible ... it only works because people often ignore the ship as they see it as a low threat but its very easily countered ship because you cannot easily hide it and most ships are entirely capable of outruning and in the long range HE meta the ship simply lacks the ability to tank the damage.

    Odin M.I.A

A few things, Odin secondaries are lower rate of firing meaning Tirpitz will hit more often, another issue is that they still have firing arcs and they arent good. https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/219758-premium-ship-review-148-odin/ The other issue is simply that 305mm guns arent going to get much overmatch when about everyone else is sporting 380mm, torpedoes angles are also awkward and I dont hate Odin but Tirpitz is a more reliable battleship.

I hope you arent thinking you can put him on this cruisers ... because you cannot, they are on their own tree not Europe.

Is WG pandering to DD players?

Considering the longest ranged radar is 12km with cruisers having concealment ranges of around 11km ... only cruisers with smoke with low gun bloom should have concerns about radar and then there are variables, radar doesnt have a constant uptime so only "well done" players activate radar (or hydro) for no reason, others will activate if there is the sure tell of seeing smoke, see cap being captured or are suspicious of a area. DDs only need to worry about radar is they do anything that makes a cruiser respond by radar the location, otherwise its just a limited time "assured detection" zone to be avoided, it exists to prevent DDs to just park in cover and be completely undetected, few cruisers are affected by it since they need to have smoke and being able to spot as well have low gun bloom, that very much limits the number of cruisers that should care about radar to just about the 2 Belfast.

    Why everyone hates CVs?

Funny, I dont see ships moving unless there is no DDs on the match otherwise the BB will stay way in the back because guess what DDs can do?

    Nerf HE BOMBS

Thats easy, be the only human player on your team as often your idiotic bot team will get themselves killed in the process and it will be 4 vs 1 if not 6 vs 1. Bonus points if you are in a CV, I had a match one with the RN T8 CV were I had to engage a red Bismarck with secondaries fighting in a cap because my bot team was doing a wonderful job of being sunk, I survived with about 1k HP and won by points as I was in no shape to even think about engaging my bot counterpart.

    Why everyone hates CVs?

I see way too many ships parked next to a island bow in because they think they are invulnerable and in some cases they are. I am reading things about "permanent spotting" but what is gun bloom? To surface ships when I open fire I cease to have concealment because gun bloom just sets my detection to my gun maximum range and its not 1-5 seconds, its about 20 seconds, you cannot easily dislodge a islandhugger without suffering heavy counterfire, only way is a DD that torps but thats assuming he can get into position or a CV that can always hit it because no speed or maneuverability. The whole "CV permanspot" is a load of crap because gun bloom, its not as if "repositioning" is going to do much without a heal and those are still uncommon on cruisers that cannot engage without blowing their concealment and they will be spotted by DDs before they can spot a DD. Of course thats another one that is added to "I hate CVs" but WG clearly doesnt want the game to devolve into a coverbased shooter, I rather get cruisers buffed so they can engage in open water that having certain playstyles remove cruisers ability to do anything else but long range sniper kitting. And I certainly do not like when DD mains try to bring other classes into the discussion as a excuse to have CVs removed from the game, DD dont need to hug islands to behind ... they have the concealment, speed and stealth to dictate the engagement, DDs dont typically gunboat because of the already mentioned gun bloom and when they do either they screw up and get sunk because surface ships locked on then or the target support is too far away to be able to do anything before they slip back into stealth.
  17. Oh no, FDR requires having at least a 10 points captain just to offset their "eats flak" problem and FDR is like Saipan with terrible number of planes of deck and regen so every plane loss is heavily felt and since they are slow as hell, so is their return flight. The worst thing is strikes, you want to follow up but with that 20 seconds lock out and slow speed you end up in the trap of loitering over AA because you are waiting, FDR can blow the load earlier but that only works in co-op due to bot behavior were its a DPS race and you are sure to get some damage in before its over as deplane issues dont matter because its over before it really kicks in, the only advantage FDR have is that ... and its a T10 special ship so it have a somewhat improved economy. There are two CV trainers in the game, one is Kaga because you have so many planes on deck as well large squadrons you learn how to attack and the other is Ark Royal since you can take her to operations and you learn how to preserve and manage aircraft as they are somewhat more durable even if slow.

    Why everyone hates CVs?

They already do ... radar. They just dont complain about hydro because its so short ranged that it doesnt really matter outside some rather specific situations that arent likely to happen to begin, I suppose next is module breaking since they already had the citadel removed entirely from the class.
  19. Bourgogne seems a popular recommendation as for FDR I advise against it, the ship is basically a crippled Midway that triggers people because of selective stats reading. I advise waiting until you can afford 2 of the ships or until they get send to the Satan Box since you arent sure, that way you always have a fallback if you dont like it or something else shows up you would prefer.

    New rocket mechanics in Detail

StarCraft2 is trash and all the meme competitive games are just that, meme ... everyone wants to be the next DOTA and StarCraft2 initial popularity was because first it was the sequel to StarCraft that was a much more balanced game with a long longevity and second because it was Blizzard. The other problem is that if you go around towards "professional play" *only* then player (not watcher) interest dwindles that snowballs into watcher interest dwindling as well and then that affects player interest as fewer people will get into it, this can be observed in real sports where viewership is on decline because we have basically a handful of teams that are highly professional and then the "eternal runner-ups" like in Spain were RM and Barca been so overwhelming on La Liga that it just bogs down to of who the two will win this year. But on a videogame you have to ask yourself who is paying for it? To continue my analogy with real sports this is asking for WG to build and maintain the stadium for free so the professional teams can play, Activision keep trying the whole eSports deal without any payoff because to make myself clear on this ... I am not going to watch you or anyone else playing WoWS just I dont want to watch anyone playing WoT, very few games are spectator-friendly and that makes the whole "professional" scene a pointless endeavor for the company because a viewer is not a customer, unlike real sports they cannot charge admission tickets or broadcasting rights, in the end having "balance" around the upper 2% is like expecting a school team to play like Barca ... that wont happen and the attitudes the 2% have towards the 98% are appealing, far far worst that professional athletes since those have to behave otherwise they get fines or banned.

    New rocket mechanics in Detail

Yes, as I recall AP rockets had much better penetration angles that were lowered to standard as well the damage was lowered, they were never useful against DDs because the so called "fast" torpedoes were meant to be their Anti-DD weapon. When I hear people saying "oh you can just use torps" ... well, anyone with a brain should realize TB more that heavily telegraph the torpedo path even before they are in the water, people that get hit the majority of time either are too slow to dodge then, are unable due to their positioning or arent paying attention, I sunk DDs with torpedoes but I had to deliberate fudge the launch so they gone astray and I had to hope for that because a DD that sees planes in the wrong vector will just speed up thinking they will miss (and they would if they launched "correctly"), AP bombs are not going to do much against DDs as well due to overpen mechanics and that is assuming they actually hit because, good luck with that in GZ cross-eyed bomber drop pattern. If they nerf HE bombs next then whats the point of playing a CV besides being a spotter ship? I am going to get the usual "git gud" and "adapt" but why should I when I can simply quit playing and play something else, like a certain class that have a guided line for their main armament, to me the problem with CVs are now down to this really ... high skill requirement for the lowest rewards.

Dont worry, when DDs time will come as they had come before ... we will be here to remind you to adapt.
  24. This would be a return to pre-rework were a CV could shut down the other, at least when you screw up in a ship you go back to port but with this, the CV would spend the entire match being canceled. BTW I also dont like how fighters are in the game, we dont have say fighter escorts for bomber groups and the whole CAP patrol is simply nonsense as they simply became a "exclusion" zone, there are no active gunners and CAP as well fighters are simply a 1:1 trade. Then again, the whole air aspect is pathetic, we have "spotters" that dont actually spot and fighters that never engage the first attack as the entire system is just shallow and not even good for arcade gameplay.

MASSIVE Sly NERFS to CVs in 10.5 !

DDs die even without CV or radar present, they have low HP and you either are very defensive and thus passive as you never engage outside the occasional wall of skill or you are aggressive and get focused and sunk because your teammates will either ignore you or simply are too far away to even engage. Also giving DDs more survival would be a bad idea, they have the highest potential DPS ... they are glass cannons, if you increase their survival that comes at the cost of everyone else and since you mentioned it, air spotting ranges are rather low unless you have AA turned on that is pretty much the reason DDs get killed in the first place that is no different that opening fire on a ship because its in gun range, also I hope you arent seriously suggesting that DDs should have no real counters being unspottable except by other DDs and thus being able to engage without putting thenselves at risk (because you dont need a lock for wall of skill, at best you get a detected warning) so most things that CVs are being accused off, DDs will now have ... except with a much higher damage potential. WG will not remove CVs, they also dont seem keen on removing spotting as it stands when in fact they made it harder over the years (remember stealth firing?), they dont want the game to devolve into a DD vs DD match with every other class being spectators/targets, they also dont want any class or ship to have such a high impact on the game that it gets too popular because it would screw up the MM, whatever idea that people might have over the game doesnt necessary means its what WG wants to do and even less if its good for the game. Outside the superunicorns that do well, CVs arent doing well due to constant nerfs leading to a increasing skill gap on performance so we are back to the RTS days and the reason there was a CV rework, to lower the skill gap ... its just now its not a question of enemy CV shut you down, its a question if you can actually do anything that matters when it comes to the leaderboard because I wont take out a CV just to get a -200k credits and a pathetic XP score.
