    Taihou having ASW capabilities is hilarious considering how she sunk, not to say about Imperial Japanese Navy own efforts with the Army having their own escort carriers and ASW aircraft.
  2. One thing you learn about this playerbase is that "facts" are more in the "things we think are true and wont bother checking" that anything else really. As for Sevastopol, is just Project 69 even if I have to question how 38 cm SK C/34 are complete crap on German ships suddenly because very accurate and lose all the problems they have when put on a Soviet ship.
  3. Yes but I mentioned that one since BBV can use seaplanes but model 21 can only be used by BBVs and its the only gold quality one. I am not sure if Seiran ends up being better on Chen Hai since it have a bigger bomb and she can equip then but Cunning Stratagem triggers on launch so ...
  4. The FAB 19 is a torpedo bomber but so is the Zuiun, both have a 500lb bomb but Zuiun have cannons. FAB 19 does have a shorter launch. The Suisei Model 21 is BBV only, Seiran can be equipped and thats it ... of course they could add new ones, like the Northrop N-3PB Nomad.
  5. Well the German Chinese converted cargo ship into a seaplane tender interests me (hoping for a refit to make it more useful) but since there isnt much rush and she is the only DE ship you have to get from building.

    Ark gets 3 decent torps (IJN are better) but the typical RN bombing (faster but less pen) and near useless rocket planes (at hinting anything), both Ranger and Ryujo are better in a pure damage selection because one have HE dive bombers that can hit anything as the other have AP bombs. Ark is a good CV for operations but in randoms? Its of course better that Soviet piece of garbage but it does tail after Ryujo, Ranger and T6 Graf Zeppelin simply because Ark is squishy, planes are slow and the main grace are the 3 torp drop that only goes as far.
  8. I FXP to Khaba because I couldnt take the lower tier DDs (and I intent to reset the line anyway, more expensive that IJN Gunboat but not substantially so). GK I unlocked playing FdG normally since when the news come I was already on Bismarck so it was a normal grind, still playing FdG for the replacement. Its still a couple of T10 coal ships for XP, Khaba even if FXP the entire line will cost less that a T9 XP ship.

    You should had used your non-existing radar consumable. He is kinda right that cruisers do flush out DDs but those have radar to do it.
  11. He said the directives were easy because people at the time were telling WG staff if they could get PR for free ... ... and then brought then showing that. This was the trolling, that the dockyard directives were easy if you payed to skip that was WG intention, they got honest about it following dockyard events as you have to buy the ship as PR was very much "theoretical possible to get it for free", note most CMs remained silent over the whole thing instead of "*swipes CC* See? Easy .."

    Gloster Meteor, yes ... English Electric Canberra, no. HMS Eagle started trials with Supermarine Attacker that is, of course, a more modern plane that the Meteor and during wartime she carried the Hawker Sea Hawk, historically ... I agree this is wrong as the Meteor was never actually deployed on carriers despite being capable and used for testing as the Canberra never had a naval version period.

    The video shows the carrier squadron layout including their squadron size. Normal squadrons size are 9 rocket planes/12 bombers and no torpedo planes as you can see their icon and number, this might change but its the composition we seen in the video at this point. Video shows a lot that isnt in the blog, they didnt cut out the UI and squadron information is on the UI.

    Let go over that then. The first thing is planes DONT fly themselves, if you are in a jet then the other flights arent flying on their own, the mentioned ships have a main battery with the squadron being a situational bonus,for supercarriers is simply another squadron. The second thing is that United States lacks any torpedo bomber besides the jet version, it only have rocket planes and bombers and if they work like the jet version they arent dive bombers, they are level bombers with a 3 bomb drop. The third and last thing is that if they are level bombers this cuts down the number of possible targets they can effectively target to battleships and larger cruisers. There are a bunch of unknowns, right now they seem weak simply because United States looks like Indomitable in terms of loadout, the only strength is maybe the 9 attack planes/12 bombers flight normal flight but thats it.
  16. 15 seconds on 203mm guns? oh sure its just 8 barrels and not 10 but its just 1 second longer reload that Myoko and it have a heal ... unless you are saying Atago is underpowered and its T7 .... is that what you are saying? or you want a Atago at T7?

    Its obvious they want a T7 ship, not a T8. As it stands Maya is closer to T8 that to T7, so its going to get nerfed as a result since if you compare her with Atago its just a diferent Atago with slight different torps, one less turret but with MBRB on its separate slot with the main nerf being no spotter ... its kinda too much, if this is a Narai ship then I think MBRB will remain (because fast reload is important for Narai), the heal is nice to have but not necessary (since healing circle) so I guess that will have to go first, honestly I am not sure what else to nerf to bring the ship down but on randoms the loss of a heal and spotter will certain cause problems as it forces it to fight within 12km that is closely uncomfortable and lacking Atago concealment. As for being a AA cruiser ... as I said, IJN piling more AA didnt solve anything the problems were first ammunition (no proximity fuses) and poor radar compared with contemporary US radar (US was already using radar tracking, Japan just had air search), at that point Japan had a critical lack of air defenses so "losing" a Heavy Cruiser for increased Air Defense made sense as in it was something they could actually do, they simply could not design and build entire ships for that role.

    Its not supposed ... Its hilarious when people cry and complain about the lack of historical accuracy just to turn around and and cry about historical accuracy ... you either had Maya in the pre-December 1943 that would be a Atago more or less or her final configuration, do we need a Atago clone? I agree that she looks more at home at T8 since the only thing she really loses is spotter and concealment upgrade slot, the loss of a turret is made up by the MBRB that makes me wonder whats going to go, I assume the heal but in a sense the Takao class was followed by the Mogami class and preceded by the Myoko class so its somewhere within Tier 7-8 just because how IJN designed ships to be more powerful that their predecessors. Their AA suit was defective because those were designed in the very late 1920's, IJN keep upgrading their AA systems but the shortcomings could not be solved by pilling more mounts. I have no problem with the supercarriers. I suspect as FDR was a testbed for Soviet CVs, Bearn was a testbed for the supercarriers ... fully expect having heavy CAP but weak strike capabilities, all we see in the video were either single plane or two planes flights with no followup attacks, in fact if you pause at the end of the video at the end you see the following ... 2 attack planes, 1 bomber and 1 torpedo plane ... timers have attack planes that were just launched with a 1.50 timer, the torpedo bomber with a 3.03 with the bomber timer being seen at the end of the bomber video with a 5.26 timer. This is what people are "afraid of" ... single plane fight planes with a 3.10/5.30 timer! I suppose they also have regular planes but what I see is 9 of attack planes and 12 on bombers, no torpedo planes since otherwise they would be utterly useless, this what supercarriers offer ... single fights of "fast" planes with no torpedo bombers on the regular planes (at least United States doesnt have then in the video), I am sure some will have a more detailed analysis of what was shown but I am pretty sure their "gimmick" is their long cooldown single/dual plane flights that are fast with the rest being ... bombers, wait ... dont we have a CV with only attack planes and bombers? HMS Indomitable that is rarely seen being so reliant in DOT damage ... so this is a T1011Indomitable that can every 3.10 minutes send a single plane with 2 torpedoes ... somehow I am not exactly sold about its OPness.

    Yet Maya is real on her final refit. Yet we have people complaing about being a copy-paste without even reading the stats ... hell without even looking at the picture. Sure, eventually we run out of historical ships, especially as WOWS does classes and not individual ships that cut down possible ships but still, I think the point is the "playerbase" is far too busy being offended by anything that WG does at this point, then they complain that WG doesnt listen to then, the current state of the game is not only on WG shoulders but also the "playerbase" that seems only caring about just complaining over anything even they even complain about anything specific. Maya is kinda interesting but I wonder if she fits at T7 even with the "nerfs" as Atago is still a reliable ship and Maya isnt that far with the biggest nerf being related to being T7, even her loss of a turret its still 4x2 203mm, the reload booster is offsetting that as well.

    No, its her late war refit that had a turret removed for a AA mount. ARP Maya got a lot of flak for being a Atago clone instead of being this one. Even if she is T7 she gets a reload booster that makes me wonder a bit how "balanced" is a T8 ship with a turret removed (but with a reload booster), the torpedoes might have shorter range but still 8km on a cruiser at T7 is *very* respectable especially when they are faster at 76 knots , she looks a bit too good but she is nerfed in relation to Atago as no spotter and as T7 no access to concealment upgrade.

    I would bother replying to what is just parroting, most CVs go look for a island to stay behind, not go to a corner as you have to be really bad to do something as self-defeating like that. maybe they have Hidden Menace too. But yes, its a bad skill that got "fixed" in the same thought of Brawler that was a terrible pick for DDs ... its something that occasional see in game development as someone decides that zerosum is a good idea, its helpful in the sense you then *dont* need to bother with skills because they dont provide a actual benefit, in WOWS its bad because of how loopsided it is with CV having the least of those (because of how they play) with subs having the most (leading to why even bother), we just moved from a mostly static build of the old system to a even more rigid system with the new system.
