Interesting observation from NA Forum regarding ASW weapons and "Premium" / "Special" ships...
Dutchy_2019 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
IIRC Friesland had them modelled from the very beginning. -
Sounds a bit like the classic one, where a player complained loudly on the forums that he could NOT complete the dockyard (or even stage 1) because he could not complete the stages by only playing one nation's DD's (IIRC Japanese DDs).

WG's approach to community relations
Dutchy_2019 replied to DeltaTigerX's topic in General Discussion
1. Not sure about this one, what is being done. 2. Is being worked on; apparently it is a desync issue, having to do with timing problems between various servers (game server, client server, and who knows what other server). That is an issue that is NOT easy to fix, and if fixed incorrectly might completely wreck the game. This is NOT something you can give a time line for. 3. Shells bouncing of angled funnels has - allegedly - been there since forever, and allegedly has been announced/mentioned/discussed in public on the official WoWs stream YEARS ago. Where it was told that it was something that would stay in the game and was NOT a bug. 4. Read the Patch notes: they are working on it, and have already introduced some changes in this patch (which might or might not work), at least for some maps. -
On NA the new Dockyard is live. Time to complete: 8 weeks (55 days in WG time) Stage 7 (final stage) available upon completion of previous 6 stages, and first available in 1 month 9 days WG time (= 40 days) Most rewards of missions and dockyard phases are credits, signals and flags. First impression: In line with the previous dockyards mission wise: 7 stages, 3 tokens (in total) for the dockyard per stage 6 missions completed completes the stage and is rewarded with a token Per stage (9 missions): Of those 9 missions: - 2 general missions (all ship classes) that are rewarded with tokens - therefore HAVE to be completed if you want to complete the dockyard - 3 general missions with basic rewards - 1 mission EACH specific for DD, BB, Cruiser, CV - 8 missions can be completed in Randoms, Ranked and Co-op. - 1 mission can only be completed in Randoms or Ranked Some of the general missions can also be completed in Clan Battles and Operations. Notable rewards: Phase 5: Distant Voyager Container Phase 7: 10k Free XP Phase 14: Premium T5 Container (dropping a T5 Premium from a list to be found in Armory -> Community Tokens -> T5 Container) Phase 19: Distant Voyager Container Phase 20: 50k Elite Commander XP Phase 21: 2 Distant Voyager Containers Phase 22: 10k Coal Phase 23: 1000 Steel Phase 24: Zeven Provinciën General impression: The whole seems similar to the last ZF-6 dockyard, also in the mission requirements. So yeah, I will be trying to complete the dockyard.

9 missions in total 2 missions get you tokens 4 class specific missions 2 more missions that just get you rewards All of these 8 can be completed in Randoms, Ranked and Co-op (and occasionally also in Clan Battle and Operations) 1 mission that just gets you a reward, but can only be completed in Randoms en Ranked.

You are correct, and I have corrected it in my original post. Thanks for spotting the mistake.

So why is WG so obstinate in refusing to grant player requests?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
My feeling is that the difference in is in the way they tell the customer they can f** off (western companies are better at hiding it behind all kinds of customer rep and PR BS), and the difference not so much them ignoring their customers. -

Dutchy_2019 replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, but this is nonsense. Quite a few Western (including US) companies are little better. This is not a Russian (game) company issue. This is generally an issue of (big) business. -

Dutchy_2019 replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
Apparently there was one example where WG listened to the player base about ships. And it resulted in a completely broken Graf Zeppelin. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Working my way up the Japanese Tech Tree on EU in Randoms. I must have done something right in Myoko, looking at the base XP. Numbers wise it has been a decent day, some of the games were good, some of the games were absolute sh*t. -
Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

Today in Randoms on Two Brothers: Phase 1: There could be some KOTS inspired relocation going on Phase 2: Secret meeting in G6/G7 about what to do Phase 3: Decide on a lemming train push, where by the time the D-line was reached all but 3 of them were dead, and three of the enemy ships on that flank were still alive. Saddest thing: if my torping had been slightly better (and lucky), we might have pulled a win out of this mess. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Just ran into @Pikkozoikum him in Ise, me in Shiratsuyu, and ended up on his flank. Nearly got him a few times with torps. He killed me in the end, when I and the CV were the only survivors (and what felt like 8 enemy ships were targeting me). -

Dutchy_2019 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Today I had a few good games on EU, and for the first time on EU dragged my Win-Rate above 50% The bad cruiser numbers is me trying to figure out Myoko. The BB and DD numbers are (mostly) Akatsuki, Shiratsuyu, and Nagato. -
List of potential super container ship-drops
Dutchy_2019 replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
@Figment @Verblonde Just wondering: Where did you come across the Imperator Nikolai, Fujin and Kamikaze R being taken out from Super Containers (I am also missing the Giulio Cesare from that list). The only thing I heard / read is that the T4 and T5 naughty ships, were taken out from the CHRISTMAS containers from now on. I never came across them being taken out from Super Containers, unless that is a consequence of them being taken out from Super Containers. -

On EU I am grinding the IJN lines (sans CV). and currently at T7. I had this nice match in Randoms. The difference was made by the DDs, to the point where two non-DD players stated in chat that every DD in the game deserved a +1. It was a fun game. It actually currently is my T7 Random Battle Damage record. -
I am now working my way down the IJN lines (sans CV), and am currently working my way through T7. Akatsuki is a whole lot of fun, so is Shiratsuyu. Good practice in playing with your concealment.

Dockyard - De Zeven Provincien - Will you take part?
Dutchy_2019 replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
I will have a look at the missions, and will probably do the missions on EU and NA. Enough stuff to grind along the way. -
Seems to work (was accepted on the webpage) both on EU and NA still; cannot check as I cannot log into the game atm. Thanks for the codes!

Update 0.10.7, dockyard, "Dutch cruisers. Part 2" event.
Dutchy_2019 replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Comment on the new commanders: The name of the Dutch commander Frederik van Hendriks goes against normal Dutch naming conventions. The 'van' is followed by a place name (topographic location) or on rarer occasions it might refer to a Lordship (which usually actually referred to a geographic location) which might have become a family name. The surname 'Hendriks' as used here however refers to Hendrik's son (son of Hendrik), and that NEVER includes the 'van' preposition. In fact the name Jansen actually originates as Janszoon (son of Jan) - hence the various spellings: Janssen, Jansen, Janszen that are known to exist. The proper name should be Frederik Hendriks (or maybe Frederik Hendriksz) as Hendrik is the name of a person, not that of a geographical location. If Frederik's ancestors were from (for instance) Heemskerk, the use of 'van' would have been proper: Frederik van Heemskerk (or van Heemskerck). -
The 14th season of CBs will feature double CVs at tier 6?
Dutchy_2019 replied to SV_Kompresor's topic in General Discussion
I had considered trying out CBs this season. Me guesses I will not. -
- If you spend on flags and camos and a little luck with containers, you definitely can. - Perhaps he has spent a ton of time on Co-op and Operations, which might not count towards your 'Account Battle' stats.
-
Except you are not. Also, the complaints (and reports) might have merit as well.

Why Open Maps Are Stupid And Why Wargaming Loves Them

'Just dodge' ? -
A good number of the dead on board these ships WERE Indonesian. Indonesia ITSELF has officially committed itself to protecting these war graves. What has happened is that some businessmen with very good connections saw an easy way to make a buck, bought off the local authorities, and salvaged the wrecks. BTW, the irony about you mentioning this issue becoming political, and ending your piece of writing with an outright political statement which in many ways is also blatantly false, unless you are arguing that everything is justified in the pursuit of economic wealth (aka Greed Is Good).
-
That would mean they would replace the T4 and T5 ships (because those are as of now the only Santa Crate ships taken out of the boxes) with T8, T9 and maybe even T10 ships. Could be.
