Dockyard screen broken - cannot get back to port
Dutchy_2019 replied to Dutchy_2019's topic in General Discussion
This has occasionally happened to me before - but what I found suspicious now is that the ESCape option on top is now gone. -

O boy, so instead of 7 you now only have to dodge 6. It still is broken. And as WG themselves admitted (!) in their apologies, the CV spotting mechanics are a serious problem that needs to be fixed. And with subs, they are introducing a class in that way WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS!! It is just plain stupid. -

Sorry, but the homing torpedo mechanic, and ESPECIALLY the 'undo it with the dcp' has to go. One vs one it might be acceptable, but in a Ranked battle where multiple enemies are in play it is simply WAY TOO MUCH! You already have to take into account (and dodge) enemy DDs, cruisers, BBs and CV''s if you are lucky. And then this nonsense shows up. As a DD, I already often have to use my DCP to - you know - repair damage after a fight. Which means that if at that point a sub shows up with fast torpedoes who pings you, you have NO chance, and you are simply gone, as usually there is NO WAY of outturning them. It is a stupid as DDs being forced to smoke up due to the completely broken CV spotting mechanics. It is a LIMITED resource, which often is at a considerable cool down. The other alternative - as a DD - is to flail around with broken engine / fires / broken steering, because you know that using the DCP puts you at a massive risk from getting sunk by the submarine torps (as you get pinged). It is IMHO just stupid. Personally I find it unacceptable that in this way ships that risk their health all game long are being punished. Especially since the ship class LEAST at risk from being targeted by the enemy through most of the game, LEAST likely to even be in range of submarines has an automated almost built in invulnerability (the AUTO-DCP mechanic) in CV's. -
Today in Sept 9th WHERE ARE THE FESTIVE TOKENS AND CONTAINERS?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
They are only NOT clear if you do NOT read the articles. -
Nope - he only did better in damage farming (as that is the primary source for Base XP), and arguably had better RNG (if he dropped fighters). Says not that much about how good a game he played, or how much he helped the team win.

WoWS Anniversary 2021 hidden achievement requirements
Dutchy_2019 replied to KyraTiger's topic in General Discussion
Read the news article - it tells you exactly when the snow flakes will be active. -
As XP is mostly damage based, that is an absolutely IDIOTIC argument. I have seen plenty of games where the players who actually won the game for the team - like for instance by spotting, area denial and such - ended up bottom of the team, while the damage farmers got top.
-
Disagree - Your first task should ALWAYS be to try to win the game. And yes, if that means that you cannot complete a mission, or it might lower your XP earnings, TOUGH LUCK! You are a complete ***hole and worse, if you expect others to make up for your ***holic lack of team play. Because YOU being a complete ***hole so you can grind you mission forces OTHERS to abandon their missions. It is as simple as that. YOU CAN blame ANY player that goes for egoistic trophy hunting over winning the game.

WG probably has fired Gneisenau013 over Yukon Debacle
Dutchy_2019 replied to Taschkent_'s topic in General Discussion
It is - though from what I have seen this mechanism is fairly common in corporate culture. I have seen this kind of thing happening in many places. -
Math might be simple - integrating the coding into the game might not be (and IIRC that was/is the issue).

Pacific mission stage get three destroyed ribbons
Dutchy_2019 replied to Capt_pugwash1967's topic in General Discussion
Did it in Georgia on NA. Got seriously frustrated in the beginning thanks to DDs on the torp hit kill spree, and bots moving the wrong way / me spawning in the wrong spot. Blew a few opportunities myself, eventually got it with, and then had like 5 games in a row getting the 3 kills. -
Change "Resolute and Rapid" Collection to non-gambling/non-money-gouging
Dutchy_2019 replied to PoetRaptor's topic in General Discussion
WG has promised that there would be a Free or non-gambling-for-money way to get stuff. The only thing I can think of that currently does not falling this category are the Agincourt and arguably Konig Albert from the Jutland containers. Sansonetti falls into the latter category. I hope they will come up with something for Agincourt. It is up to us to make them keep that promise. -
Anyone got the Credits reimbursement (from 17% -> 30%) for "Missouri Pacific War" mission as promised?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I would be stunned, as I do not remember playing her this patch. -
About Missouri I cannot resolve Pacific War mission 6 due my dissability
Dutchy_2019 replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
Tried to do it on NA last night, combining it with the dockyard BB mission, in Georgia. Took me forever, thanks to the DD torp hounds frenzy being released, and often unlucky RNG, leaving enemies as a one shot for a DD. Of corse once I did get the 3 kill mission done, I got it done one game after another…. -
My personal opinion: - Hold on to your Free XP until you get a second million, so you always have spare in case WG announces a ship to be withdrawn. I did the same with coal, and it actually allowed me to get both Georgia and Thunderer when it was announced they would be taken out. So in Coal I actually have spare for TWO ships now. This system also allowed me to make a run for Smaland when it was announced she would be taken out, as I already was well over 1 million Free XP when that happened (and I did manage to get her a week before she was taken out). - Personally I would probably get Ägir before I would get Azuma (in fact I have Ägir and have yet to get Azuma).

What ships do you have available to you for this? The way I would approach this: - PLAY THIS IN CO-OP at odd server times. Odds are that you then will have mostly bot team, giving you the best chance. - I would say play either BB or DD; BB can deal damage, and try to grab a cap if you can. DD: focus on killing the enemy DD, grab a cap and then see if you can torp one or two enemy ships. -
Dutch Cruiser Dockyard Mission #14- What did you get?
Dutchy_2019 replied to MannequinSkywalker's topic in General Discussion
As I whaled in the past: 4000 Doubloons, since I have all the T5 ships from the container. On NA it just moments ago dropped me USS Texas -
Then I might even suggest you get one of the lower or mid tier cruisers, you might get more immediate use out of them. And keep the coal for when either one of the coal ships get taken out, or for a later date.
-
What ships do you play most? What is your play style? Might be some useful info that could help forum members give you some advice.
-
That seriously depends on the approach of the players. If you have those that go ACTIVELY hunting achievements, it works in exactly the WRONG way. Because actively hunting achievements usually is counterproductive in just about every aspect of the game.
-
Agree with you there, but these points are all part of just SENSIBLE common play. I would say just play the game, LEARN to play the game at lower and mid tiers, and the achievements will come in time. And if one is sooo desperate to complete a campaign, just repeat easy assignments to get the required stars.
-
And I am completely fine with that. For this I give them until the summer of next year, because I think to get things done properly, the job is too difficult to get fixed before Christmas. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Christmas boxes though.
-
If you were to go - IN GAME - to your profile page, and then the achievements menu, it will tell what you need to do for every achievement. There is indeed also the WoWs Wiki.

Is there any expected upcoming coal ship(s)?
Dutchy_2019 replied to O3EE's topic in General Discussion
Nope - at least not known ships. -
Them not disclosing it one place at a time is indeed their choice. Though personally I think if they were to disclose it one country at a time, it would only lead to a whole lot of confusion and other messes (based on public behaviour in the past with these kinds of things). They could, but it could well be that it would result in many countries in loads of legal trouble for them. I would think that in quite a few countries a general notice would NOT be sufficient - where if they were to put up a notice, they would have to put it up in a gazillion of places within the game. One only has to look at all the liability clause stupidity in for instance the US what forms that could take. Simply look at some of the news articles about the implementation of the new online gambling law in the Netherlands, and the mess that THAT has created. Personally, I will give them some leeway. But if it takes too long into 2022, then yeah, part of the reason to postpone these kinds of things is most likely nefarious.
