some missions for Novorossiysk is too hard for common player!
Dutchy_2019 replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
Except for the problem that you cannot complete this particular mission in Co-op. It is a Randoms / Ranked only mission (something that somebody else ranted about in a thread he started). -
True - but then again, they biggest crates were also much more expensive.
-
BTW, the coal drops for T5-T7 ships seems to be working fine (they are added after the game to the stash).
-
Await the drop rates - in previous years the medium crates seemed to offer best value for money.
-
To address a few points brought up: 1. I think it is indeed a missed opportunity (to put it mildly) by the Devs to NOT incorporate a 'Snowflakes achieved' counter in the armory; I mean, there are counters for everything else (the numerous tokens), even those that can no longer be earned! 2. There is the following website: https://whaling.in.fkn.space/ . This website collects the ships in port, and shows you what you can earn. It also shows you how many ships so far have 'earned' their rewards (tokens / steel / coal) 3. Coal and steel earned should be added to your stash automatically.

OK - my bad. I agree that there should be challenges (and rewards) for very good players, or players who put in the time and effort and might be not that good. I do think it is a delicate balance though between that, and making things available to other players. For the same reason I am conflicted about some of the mods out there - they might enable people with visual disabilities to play the game, but IMHO are too much for people without disabilities. -

Yosha_nai He undoubtedly already does, and knows all about that. And he is well aware of content that is unavailable for him because of his disability. He usually is able to work with them, or trying to work around them. And as he has already pointed out, he knows he misread the assignments. BTW, note that many the seventh objectives of each stage are probably out of reasonable reach for 90% or more of the player base (in Randoms) - i.e. unless they have a flash in the pan lucky game, they chances of them getting them are very small. -
How many players do you think can complete that task in a single battle consistently? VERY few. Note that at least 3 of the 7 task are as easy or easier to complete in Co-op (and faster) than in Randoms or Ranked - without screwing your team over.
-
You do realize that 6 out of the 7 missions can be completed in Co-op? And that you only need 5 missions completed to complete the stage?

How do you like the current "Coal" ship offerings in the Armory? Anything new possibly incoming by the end of the year?
Dutchy_2019 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I am a collector, so not a completely fair comparison. I have only 6 ships left to get from Coal: Napoli (only T10), Kearsarge, Tulsa, Carnot, Z-44 and Flint. I am currently sitting on 355k coal, and still have the coupon available. Policy is to have a coal reserve to at least get one of the ships without coupon (in case WG announces one of them to be taken out). I should get the Khabarovsk and GK before they are moved to the coal armory. As to original question: I think the current offering is quite good. As for what ship to get, of what you have left: I have seen people do some really stupid (= fun) stuff in Tulsa. -

Well, failed my way through Bismarck towards FdG. Winrate is horrid, PR and Damage are average and well above average. Sometimes I messed up, but often it seems a combination of teams and spawns/MM made carrying my team to a win beyond my capabilities. -

No spectacular games today, but got to my next two boats in the Tech Tree: -
Question about getting my first T10 ship
Dutchy_2019 replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
My 0.02 eurocents: You CAN make a profit on Co-op in high tiers (fairly consistently), but then you do need to finish near the top of team for that to happen just about every time. That means (a) adopting a very aggressive play style, and (b) use specific ships. Generally that means fairly fast ships, that are tanky, maneuverable and pack a punch. High tier ships that work for me: Jean Bart (no longer available) Salem (coal ship) Pommern (coal ship) Mainz Friesland / Groningen (Free XP) Marceau (coal ship) Kii That said, even regular Tech Tree ships can work (Myoko / Mogami) Go for whatever ships you like - it is more important you have fun than anything else! -

Played some Kiev and Bismarck in Randoms today for the grind towards Khaba and GK. I was surprised how well I did XP wise, (quite a few > 2000 Base XP games, and on top or near top of the leaderboard, in wins and in losses). I have also devolved into the habit collecting Dreadnought achievements in Kiev. The best games, for me: -
True - but you have to be a pretty decent cruiser player to actually make effective use of that - you are far from representative in that regard as your level of play (based on the stats) is way above average. It takes quite a bit of learning to get to that point, and many cruisers play quite differently - at least in Randoms. You also have to be willing to accept you will get hit hard if not wiped of the map quite a regularly, as in most cruisers small mistakes get punished VERY heavily. If cruisers suit your play style, then they can be good fun and a massive nuisance to enemy BBs. If they do not.....
-
I think in some ways this is a direct response to the increase of BBs, further accelerated with the introduction of submarines: Cruisers are even easier to victimize by BBs because of Submarine spotting, homing ping mechanics, and useless AA, which saw people move to BB, which caused even more people to abandon CA, and move to either DD or BB (or to abandon the game).

Just as many others, I am grinding towards GK. I am now at the Bismarck, and most of the time she and me have not gotten along. Part of the time it is also because of really bad teams, part of the time it is because I like to play my BBs aggressively, and when I look around I have no support. But I then I had just this game in Randoms. The changes in the submarine mechanics definitely make a difference - in the old style I probably WOULD have been sunk by the sub. BTW, fairly early on in the game I took a screenshot for the 'sad situations' topic. It set my current T8 damage record, and I think is one of my top 5 Base XP games. Note the cluster of ships in D9 in the mini-map in the first shot. The Caracciolo had started on my flank (B3), the Benson in D cap had started in C2 and was part of the cluster in D9 just before. The Colorado also immediately lemminged to D9 (from B6). Effectively for much of the time I was the right flank on my own, from pretty much 5 minutes in. The CV got a compliment as (a) he listened to game chat and turned around in time, and (b) helped propping up the right flank, and did quite a bit of spotting. -

Yesterday, trying to get a Randoms game in in Kiev, grinding towards Khaba. Ended up on a flank where the Kitakaze suicided early in game. I then got to play with the enemy Salem, Farragut, Clevelend, Montana, Kagero and a Shimakaze. I really start to like Heal-Kiev, exciting to play and I seem to be getting quite a few dreadnoughts in it. I ended the game gunning down the Shimakaze, with less than 100 HP left. Surprised I ended up top of the team. -
I think it has more to do with: - People being able to finish off the missions for KOTS containers until this morning (before the update) - as you needed to have the KOTS collection finished + one container extra. - Issues with the KOTS drops over the weekend (and resulting CS tickets). So only AFTER the updates and patch working this morning on ALL servers, they can go run the check who is to get the camo mission.
-
Just heard Sehales say on the German WoWs stream state the following: The NC Camo missions should be activated somewhere tonight (worldwide), he mentioned a target time of 19:00 CET. Basically WG is now trying to figure out who should get the mission and who not. Should be done early tonight, and then the mission can go live, supposedly Worldwide.

Same for me in Phillipines, nothing in Zipangu for instance.

Working on the grind towards Khabarovsk and Grosse Kurfürst, I reached the next stage over the weekend. Then first game in Randoms with Heal-No-Smoke Kiev. Nice game, but what I really liked was the score sheet of the winning team in the end. Though I would guess 1.2 million tanked in a DD, while playing annoy-2-BBs-and-a-Radar-Cruiser for much of the game was fun. -

Please explain then to me how - on quite a few maps - if I am playing open water, I can actually make use of islands to dodge behind when a submarine is launching torps at me? Seems to me that in order to be in time to make use of the island, I already have to be fairly close to islands. Where at some maps that is quite easy to do, on others that is much more of a problem. And - depending on where the sub actually is, not even THAT is an option. -

Please explain to me how this CONTRIBUTES POSITIVELY to active game play? Because pretty much the only thing I see here is: GO ISLAND CAMP!! Where one of the biggest problems in the game is.... ISLAND CAMPING!! -

So you are a Pay-To-Win player? And the homing torps should NEVER have been in the game in the first place - and the Devs actually said that homing torpedo's were completely stupid and broken after one of the PTS iterations, with our Finnish Former CC showing how stupid they were. Only someone with a complete brain-fart would come up with DCP to mitigate ping, with DCP cooldown often LONGER than torp reload, and many ships having limited DCP in the first place (while there already being a massive HE-spamming meta). It is clearly obvious that there are a number of ego's involved on the side of the Devs and investors that are forcing this abomination upon us.
