    After I have gotten all the coal ships, I will get the commanders. And then probably play the crap out of them in premium ships (after training them for one ship) to get them to 21 points ASAP.

    What operation are you talking about? Because it somewhat depends on the operation. Many T6 ships will do, depending on your skill level and comfort with the ship. For me: Mutsu and Fuso Dallas I think I have never taken a DD in operations ever (or if I did, it was ages ago).

    Then maybe I took the 'Nope, too grindy' comment you made as being a bit stronger than you meant. And I took it more in line with people stating that this Dockyard is 'Absurd, PR-like and so on', as a more general judgment (like the general consensus about the PR Dockyard, that it was absurd). I mean, it literally nearly killed Fragmentation (a CC) to get PR for free. And he is NOT a bad player. Whether you consider it worth YOUR time and effort ('Do I WANT to this") is your personal opinion. For me, compared to PR event, this is extremely easy (and I managed to get Gorizia for free in that event). I think compared to other Dockyards, this is not harder, maybe even easier. In some ways I feel these missions are not much worse than the weekly stuff, and things like that.

    This is not even close to PR level unacceptable, in many ways this is even much easier than the grind for Gorizia (the half way reward in the PR dockyard). You might actually want to refresh your memory. ALL the general missions are concurrent (so it does not matter if you grind them in DD, BB, CV, or cruiser) ALL the missions can be completed in ships from EVERY nation (as long as they have a ship of T5 and higher in that class. ALL the missions can be completed in ships T5+ (CV T6+) YOU can choose which 6 missions you want to complete, to complete a stage In the PR NONE of the missions were concurrent, unless you bought Gorizia BEFORE the event started (as Gorizia missions were concurrent). In the PR event, MANY missions were restricted by Class AND Nation (so say USSR DDs only!). In the PR event, the later missions were tier restricted (IIRC like T8 and up). NOT EVEN THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD managed to complete the first stage within 4 hours of play. And EVERY stage got far worse! And I finished the first stage of the Marlborough mission today in less than 4 hours of play.

    NO: If you buy 5 phases and complete the grind for Marlborough (so complete 27 phases through the mission chain), you get NO extra steel (but you get IIRC 2000 steel as a reward along the way). If you finish Marlborough EARLY (of you bought more than 5 stages) you can potentially get 250 steel per phase extra you bought. So, examples: If you buy 5 stages and complete 27 through the Mission chain: You get no EXTRA steel (only the steel reward for phase 31, which IIRC is 2000 steel), as you need to earn 32 phases to complete Marlborough If you buy 11 stages and complete 27 through the Mission chain: you get 6 *250 = 1500 steel, PLUS the steel for completing phase 31, because you earned 6 more phases (38 in total) than was needed to complete Marlborough (which is phase 32) If you buy 11 stages but only manage to complete 22 stages through the mission chain, you get the steel for phase 31 and 1*250 = 250 steel for earning one more phase (phase 33) than is needed to get Marlborough (which is phase 32) If you buy 16 stages (both starter packs) AND you earn the 27 phases through the mission chain, you can get 11*250 = 2250 steel extra If you buy Marlborough outright (32 phases) and you earn ALL 27 phases through the mission chain you could get the steel for phase 31 and 27*250 = 6750 steel So: You need to buy for doubloons a minimum of 4 phases to get the steel reward that is part of the mission chain (which is phase 31) If you buy more than 5 phases and you complete all phases in the dockyard mission chain (27 in total) for each phase beyond 5 you get 250 steel.

    Sorry, but overall, I SERIOUSLY disagree with you here, looking overall: If you ONLY play Co-op or Randoms you make things harder on yourself. If you ONLY have T5 ships when you start the grind, then this can be quite tough. If you have no special signals and refuse to use camo's in a smart way, yes, this gets tough (though special signals can easily be earned throughout the game, and even in this dockyard event: If you refuse to play more than two classes, you make things hard on yourelf. The only more or less serious harder grind is the final stage 50.000 base XP grind (for which you have two weeks). Which should even for an average Co-op Player take a maximum of 150 - 200 games. ALL the other Base XP grind missions will be done along the way to getting this one done (as this is the biggest Base XP grind of all)! I just completed stage 1 of the Dockyard in LESS than 4 hours of play. It took me a TOTAL of 17 games (12 Co-op, 5 Randoms): 715 ribbons in DDs: 4 games in Co-op in a Friesland/Groningen. But any spammy DD should get this done quickly. Make it 8 games in a not super-spammy DD. 975 ribbons in CA/CL: 4 games in Co-op, in Smolensk (could have been 3 of the bots had been more co-operative). But ANY spammy cruiser should get this done in 10 games or less. 640 Ribbons in a BB: 4 games in Co-op using Pommern. With a little luck this could have been 3 or even 2. Yes, if you have only slow, fat, no-secondary DDs, this could get tricky. 72k spotting: 7 games combined in Co-op. 70 torpedo's spotted: 8 games total (in Co-op and Randoms combined). Unlucky not to complete it in Co-op anyway, was at 58/70 spotted when I had completed the DD / CA/CL / BB ribbon mission. 72k Commander XP: 17 games total (12 Co-op, 5 Randoms). It only took me so long because I was stupid enough to play without the extra flags for 3 of those Randoms games, and 3 of the Randoms games were losses). It could just as easily have been 15 games total. Stage 1: Complete (BTW, I am also at 10280 of 17.000 Base XP). Total game time: LESS than 4 hours of play. I consider myself an average Randoms player, and probably a slightly above average, but aggressive, Co-op player. My projections are on the assumption that a player is average of slightly below average, and has a reasonable selection of ships in say T5-T7) at a minimum. Now looking at the rest, and judging from my own play (and missions I choose - which means NO CV missions - are highlighted in bold): Part 2: Earn 6500 Free XP: - Easy to do in Randoms or Operations wearing the correct camo and wearing all the signals. Might be as little as a SINGLE game! Cause 575k dmg: - Easy, and will get done along the way of doing one of the other missions. Earn 3,9M silver *: - Should be fairly easy to do, especially in Randoms and Operations, but even in Co-op, T7 and up. Earn 25k BXP *: - Grindy but ignore, will get done along the way. 61 spotted in dd: - Easy to do as long as (a) you play DD properly, and (b) you are not truly f-ed by the presence of CV's in your game. Might actually be easier to do in Randoms than in Co-op. 1700 main battery hits cruiser: - Should be about 10 games in a cruiser with decent rate of fire, might be as little as 4 or 5 in a Smolensk (in Co-op). 1030 hits main and secondary hits: Somewhat tougher to judge, but if you get a decent and faster BB with secondaries, might be anywhere between 3 and 10 games in a BB in Co-op. 48 defended and caused flooding cv 190k dmg in one pvp battle As said: DO NOT focus on the Base XP mission, though even for an average or slightly above average player in Randoms, that Base XP amount might be done. Even the credits mission, a very good Randoms or Operations game could net you well over 500k credits. The 17 games today (12 Co-op, 5 Randoms) with a premium account and ONLY using credit flags in Randoms netted me over 2.3 million credits. And my Randoms games were NOT good. Part3 12 spotted: Extremely easy, should come along the way. be top 5 in team in 6 battles: Very easy in Co-op. earn 87 K XP *: Put on the right camos, flags and such, and again, VERY easy, should come along the way. earn 30k BXP*: Ignore, will be completed when working the other staged. cause 530k dmg with torps and fires in dd: VERY easy in Co-op. receive 21m potential dmg in cruiser: Fairly easy in Co-op, if you know how to dodge probably easier in Randoms. Just sail an Omaha, Minotaur, or Nürnberg. This is probably one of the most grindy missions in the whole dockyard cause 1450k dmg with main guns in BB: Somewhat grindy, but can also be done in Co-op, about 20 to 25 games if you have a fast BB. spot 810k dmg in CV Earn 2200 BXP in one pvp battle Part 4 33 aircraft shot down or defended ribbons: Easy in Co-op 5 captured or assisted captured: Easy in Co-op or even Randoms. 130k captain xp *: Very easy in Randoms or Operations if you put on the right camos and flags on your ship. Could be done in as few as 3 missions with some luck and the right flags/camo's. 34k BXP *: Do not focus, will come along the way. 485k spotting dmg in dd: Somewhat tricky, might actually be easier to do in Randoms than in Co-op. Cause 940k dmg by main battery or flooding in cruiser: Very easy in Co-op, especially with higher tier cruisers. receive 35m potential dmg in BB: Grindy, but even doable in Co-op (if you have a fast BB and get the attention of Bots). cause 400 k dmg with bombs in CV Get 4 destroyed in one pvp battle Arguably the most grindy stage of them all. Part 5: 720 ribbons: Easy 12 destroyed ribbons: Easy. 5.9m credits *: Comes along the way 38 k BXP *: Ignore and it will come at some point. 930k dmg with dd guns and torps: Easy in Co-op (20 games max) 325k dmg with cruiser torps and fires: Easy in Co-op, especially with German or Japanese cruisers 1750k dmg with guns and secondaries in BB: Probably easy in Co-op. 1025k dmg with torps and rockets in cv 210k dmg in one pvp battle Part 6: 510k dmg with guns and secondary: Easy, will come along the way be in top 5 team in 9 battles*: Very easy in Co-op Earn 121k xp *: Very easy if you make use of the right flags and camo's in Randoms or Operations Earn 42500k BXP*: Ignore and it will come along the way 45 captures, assisted captured or defended ribbons in dd: Easy 100 cits and fires in cruiser: Slightly grindy, but easy in higher tier Co-op (think Salem, Des Moines). 1200 main guns hit ribbons in BB: Quite grindy, though quick reloading BBs or BBs with a reload booster will help. Not sure if this is easier in Randoms or Co-op. 140 destroyed and incap ribbons in cv Kraken achievement Part 7 14k fxp: Easy, will come along the way. If necessary go out in Randoms or Operations wearing the right flags and Camo's. 1200k dmg to enemy ships*: Easy, will come along the way 170k captain xp*: Easy, will come along the way, if necessary go out in Randoms or Operations wearing the fight flags and camo's. 47k BXP*: Ignore, will come along the way. 105 torp hits or destroyed in dd: Easy if you YOLO in Co-op. 60 destroyed or incapacitated in cruiser: Easy in Co-op. 55 citadel or destroyed in BB: Somewhat more tricky, hope for Nürnberg, Minotaur and the like in Randoms or Co-op. 190 aircraft destroyed in cv 2400 BXP in one pvp battle Part 8 Be in top 5 of your team for 8 battles: Easy in Co-op receive 24m potential dmg *: Easy, will come along the way earn 7.8 M credits*: Most of it will come along the way earn 50k bxp*: Probably the hardest one of all - Focus on this one, using three classes below. If you do this in Randoms, you might actually also complete the 'Earn 2 heroïc achievements' mission almost by accident (making one of the class missions superfluous). cause 1.330kdmg in dd: Will come along the way, or spend time in Co-op cause 1775k dmg in cruiser: Will come along the way, or spend time in Co-op cause 2.4 m dmg in bb: Will come along the way, or spend time in Co-op cause 2350k dmg in cv one pvp battle, 2 heroic achievements

    I have never said it would be easy, it will take longer to get 'to the promised land', and it means some hard choices. Although there is a random element to getting premium time, you can somewhat direct the timing for some Premium Time gifts (for instance the buttons in articles) Spending more time in the few premium ships you have, and use those to grind credits. Use only the bare minimum of flags, and stack economic days and flags for days you have Premium available, or for play in modes that have a good pay-out It will take you longer to get the higher tier ships. But then again, T9 and T10 games are not all it is made out to be.

    Will you get Marlborough?

    IMHO even a decent Co-op player should be able to finish it fairly easily. By far the most difficult Co-op missions are Base XP grinds - but for the largest one (50k Base XP) you will probably have TWO weeks (was the case the last dockyards) to play between 150 and 200 Co-op games (for a reasonable Co-op player), and for the good ones substantially less.

    Camos do improve (but all have the same benefits) - and the base camo providing the benefits performing battle are a mere 25k credits. ANYONE should be able to afford them! Flags - only relevant impact in certain situations (with Detonation flags having by far the most impact), when the match is extremely close by equally skilled (top level) players. Again, those situations are rare.

    There is NO necessity to run the vast majority of flags in most cases; sole exceptions: Detonation signals in Randoms and Ranked (and even for Randoms that is debatable). Full signalled out (or most important ones) in Clan Battles: mostly Detonation and Ramming signals. For the vast majority or players in the vast majority of situations the difference made by the flags on the outcome of the game as a team is pretty much irrelevant - since the skill level of the players and RNG is FAR more influential. If - especially with the free flags and the coupons - you are incapable of earning the credits to keep a sufficient stockpile of Detonation and Ramming signals (and others for Clan Battles) frankly you just have to improve your skill level. ANY competent player should be able to make enough credits to buy the necessary flags mentioned above, AND earn enough credits to eventually progress. I frankly see no good reason for anyone to by signals in the first place (you can earn enough). Unless you are desperate to get some Free XP / Commander XP / General XP mission done before the time allowed ends.

    Played some Randoms today, could not buy a victory in Amagi and Ibuki to save my life (yay absolute horrid DD players hiding BEHIND BBs). The Kitakaze game was fun though - looked like a loss, but the enemy threw the game. Have to say she is such a pleasure after Akizuki.

Difficult to say for me - I have all three: Moskva: You can do great with her in Co-op (depending on your positioning), and for ClanBattles probably the most useful of the three (220k damage as a max, 73k average) Salem: I like her agility, and rate of fire. Possibly the most effective in Co-op of the three (220k damage as a max, 94k average damage). Probably the easiest one to do well in in Co-op. Yoshino: have not used her much (my newest ship), if you can use her torps, probably the highest ceiling damage wise. Personally I actually would make sure that I have the coal for one of these three as a spare - because personally I would not be surprised if in the near future WG announced that at least one of these three will go the way of the Georgia and Jean Bart, and be taken out of the Premium Shop and the Armory.

    Yeah, go through all the campaign stages, and look at the first missions in each campaign stage (I think the first 3 or 4) - they should provide you with the containers.
  23. Had to play some slow(ish) BBs last night for the snowflakes. The way I approach it: Pick a direction (NOT BEHIND ISLANDS!) to go to. I know, occasionally the map and spawn just makes that impossible Pick targets at range Practice your long range, see if you can lob it over an island shots Occasionally you just get screwed by a combination of map, spawn, team composition and bots movements - but that can even ruin your game in a cruiser or DD.

    Superships in Randoms Imminent

    Firs of all, I like the 'optimism' when they say: So far, we've carefully analyzed not only the data we received, but also your feedback, and the current season of ranked battles showed that superships fit the current concept of the game and were warmly welcomed by players. I guess you can always interpret data in whatever way you like, without questioning whether the data collected are actually an accurate representation of the devs would like to think they are measuring. I fully agree with you with the bolded. I do NOT understand how the devs can honestly think it is a good idea to introduce something new into Randoms when there are still numerous issues to be fixed: CV's are still a problem: Spotting, the new introduction of bouncing bombs (effectively meaning the return of rocket strikes on DDs), double CV, risk to the CV mothership (or rather lack thereof) etc. Subs are still a problem: Subs are still problematic in the game (IMHO definitely NOT a good fit in Randoms), as is clear with the continuous changes made to them by the devs themselves. Numerous other issues and bugs: Aiming/targeting fix is buggy, buggy spotting and so on. There is a decent chance this will have a negative impact on the game experience in Randoms, since there is too much going on. Second, it will pollute your data, because there is no way you can honestly maintain the position that you will accurately measure with your data the impact of these changes. There are simply too many changes to actually have any clue about what item introduced has what impact on the game. Questions NOT addressed at all in the DevBlog: How are the Devs going to fit superships in the MM: There are 2 issues here. What class of ships will the Superships replace? CV, Submarine, BB? How many Superships are allowed in? Because in theory we could end up with CV (or even double CV), 2 submarine, and 2 Superships in the game on each side. Sorry, I am NOT a fan of he idea of 'normal' ships being squeezed out by these Superships. Will T8 ships face these superships? If they are that is just plain stupid! Because that would be the same as dumping a T6 ship in a T9 match. How are Devs going to prevent completely new players without enough experience getting their hands on these ships and ruin games because of it: I know it sounds elitist, but if these ships are easy to obtain for inexperienced players the effect on games can be horrific. There is already a serious problem with players playing ships in higher tiers without the necessary experience and in doing so ruining games for their teams by their ineptitude. The devs actually acknowledged that problem with the subs (although the solution IMHO is mediocre at best). If you get inexperienced vs capable players in superships, the impact on the game will be great, and odds are the game will be ruined for most players on both teams.

    Well played a lot of Randoms today. Some games were good, some games were bad, and all the games in Akizuki were atrocious. Sometimes it was me, but the teams did not help (to put it mildly). Most exciting game: saving our own cap (Standard battle) in a FdG with only a single second left before the enemy DD would have capped us out, killing that DD eventually, and saving the win for us. Today I fell about 600 HP short of setting a new damage record in F der Grosse. In a loss this time. Completed the grinds for Khabarovsk, Grosse Kurfürst and Kitakaze. Also picked up a number of emblems for Soviet, German ships and BB average damage along the way today.
