Yes, but only 6 guns, and her style is 'shoot from range and flee', hard to get a good dmg like that. I'm sure in hands of experienced player it can perform reasonably well, but it's not me, so... And it dissolves at the slightest touch, it feels like drops of water from near misses takes HP off her... I won't complain (I know, I just did :D), it's for free after all, but I don't fancy her, and she's not a historical ship, so no sentiment at all...

I didn't count what I received, but I have enough to get camo for Tallin, and 235 tokens left to get Tallin herself. I was blessed early as I got one crate with 300 tokens, so got Mikoyan (my least liked prem so far...) and was able to complete all missions with her. I have directive 4 to complete and 2 crates from Twich mission, and little hope to get Tallin really. But who knows... Anyway, if I won't get enough for Tallin, I won't buy this horrible camo, just spend all on Victory camos. I don't know why I do these directives in a first place... I won't play Mikoyan after this event (Kirov is so much better), and I have little interest in non historical ships. I do grind Donskoi for Moskva now, but if I knew what I will have to get through I wouldn't do it in a first place... I'm just so close to secure my first tier X ship, and premium for that. But the whole event costed me a huge dip in WR (playing ships that I do not like, the only one I enjoyed so far - and real one - was Chapayev), and although I am not religiously statistical animal, I do like to see progress in what I do... At least I did not spend a penny on this or previous event (I did buy premium time and 2 ships though, so I didn't feel like I don't contribute ;)). I did enjoy European destroyers event, as I like to play DDs, I won't be bothered with Odin too much (I own Graff Spee), and certainly not with subs and german CVs. So I guess after this event and getting Moskva I will have time to review my fleet and do what I planned earlier - get few of my ships I like and want to improve in to 50% win rate and my captains to 10 pointers. Ho hey :)

Again, not only damage counts :) Only 42k, but stopped progress on right flank on my own, against Smolensk, Black, Seattle and Drake. Didn't even sunk anything, but got 10 ribbons for defending the cap. Enough time for my team to wipe out the rest. Smolo eventually got me (what a ridiculous rate of fire she has...), but I took more than half of her health.

Not in terms of damage, but teamwork was great in this one. Capped 4 times, and took out Ostergotland on my own :) Love this little boat ;)

I don't know if I should laugh or cry... The whole team hugging border of the map, only Myoko was playing normal (but here she was on like 1k hp left) and myself - kiting and trying to defend the base. Run out of room for maneuver and was blapped by one salvo from Izmail. Oh well...

I'm really proud of this one, very rarely I manage to get over 100k damage. And that was battle where I carried, sadly CV from other team carried better... Defeat that shows how much skill of the single player can tip the balance - our CV player was below medicore, no impact on battle whatsoever, and at the end I left him Ryujo with 1/3 health and enough time to finish her. He blew it... Still, after string of embarrassing defeats this battle was a real diamond.

I guess I was lucky, after completing 1st directive and few other drops here and there I got 400 tokens (one crate dropped me 300).

This: I had another roflstomp just, I did crap myself (overextended badly...), it was VII-IX tier game. After I died I noticed strange behaviour of our CV - Indomitable, just flying planes here and there, if even attacking something badly missing. Players stats... C'mon...

Well, it depends. In last 2 days I had 4 or 5 games that ended after 7-8 mins.... I just finished the game where half of the team on my part of the map just hid behind islands far away from caps, all 3 caps red in like 2-3 mins without any opposition, I lost patience and died trying to fight for a cap, no one was even shooting at red ships, they had no clear shot from behind cover... Vented in a chat, but I know it won't change anything.... Very, very frustrating.

Yes, I can imagine it is not easy, and the main reason probably why WG doesn't want to touch it. But like you mentioned there are elements of team play already in the game that should be rewarded more generously.

I disagree, strongly. So BB that is camping on the back and farming damage with little influence on the game will get more XP than DD that is spotting for this BB and dies 5 mins before the end fighting for cap? That would encourage players to avoid fight and HP loss = more camping and map border hugging. I would so much prefer that WG promoted team play elements...

I like the idea, I would put more emphasis on team play as well, eg more XP for spotting, capping, damage on spot etc.

Games where you know after 3 minutes that you will lose no matter what you do - all 3 caps red, 2-3 ships down, and positioning of the team. And you can crap yourself but you won't reverse it, even if you are super unicum, not even mentioning such a mediocre player as myself... I can live with losing streaks, it happens (I have one now...), some of them are games I can be proud of, but when game finishes after 7-8 mins and you have no chance to even farm any damage, it's getting really disheartening. In my streak of defeats that started yesterday I had already 4-5 games like that, no fun at all...

Maybe devs simplified their hull design? Surly they still kept different armament arrangement? Pensacola had 2x3 and 2x2 203mm rifles, Indianapolis had 3x3? I'm fairly new to the game (actually one of the reasons to join was to admire excellent graphic reproductions of so many ships :)), so I don't know how it was back then. But hey, it's just a insignificant detail for most players I guess :)

Historically inaccurate, Pensacola and Salt Lake City were twins and first US Navy heavy cruisers, I would love the see the latter with camo from Komodorski Island battle in WoWs :) Indianapolis also had a twin, Portland, and both were improved versions of Northampton class heavy cruisers, followed by New Orleans, Wichita, Baltimore, Oregon City and Des Moines classes. Sorry for smartassing :)

Well, when you look at percentage nearly 23% of premiums (types) are ships that never came to be or pure imaginations, in tech tree it's bit over 30%. In total around 27% of ships are 'fake'. Leading nation is - not surprisingly - Russia, 53% of tech tree ships and 38% of premiums are projects or wishful thinkings (but percent is high in Marine Nationale as well, and German navy). Ships in premiums tend to be more 'historic' than tech tree ones (like Warspite, Ark Royal, Kaga, Hood, Atago, Aurora, Varyag, Atlanta, Indianapolis or Boise), that's why your impression maybe?

There. There are so many historical ships not yet covered, mentioned Dutch, Spanish, Romanian, Turkish, Greek, I'm sure most players would be interested as well? Shame. Let's wait ans see.

Can you please advise what would be a good Japanese premium trainer and earner, any class? I have only Yubari from premiums, but it's tier IV (can't do daily tasks). So far I got to Fuso in BBs, Aoba in CAs, Ryujo in CVs, Akatsuki and Akizuki (one of my 2 gems in tier VIII) in DDs. I was thinking about Atago? Or Kii maybe? I have enough dubs for one of them. The reason I was looking at tier VIII is I would like to grind campaigns. I know what you will say - not enough experience for higher tiers, not good enough. I know, I'm just below average Joe, slowly improving. But I'd like to have a solid Japanese premium to go to.

There is some truth in that, I can see Atago and Asashio quite often, but Kaga only few times, Yahagi I've seen only once, others on very rare occasions... Never seen Kii, only 2-3 times Ashitaka. They don't seem popular. Nothing compering to JB or Massa. Thanks again for all your replies, I will give myself time to think, I don't want to force anything. If I won't find a suitable ship I can always buy one from other Navies.

Only one time I had a pleasure to watch her in action, in my team :) Set up with 100mm guns, she did very well. I can see that collecting coal/steel/freeXP is a time consuming enterprise to say the least :) If I knew it from the start.... I was spending coal and freeXP left and right, without giving it a thought. From my early years I was interested in ships and naval history, WW1 and WW2 in particular. So my list is built around historic ships that I grew up with. Maybe that's why I was rushing up the tiers, because I wanted to get these ships (like Akizuki). From freeXP ships I got Nelson, and now I think Alaska. Coal - my aim is Thunderer, but if I won't get any decent Japanese premium by the time I have coal maybe Yoshino? And yes, I have a few ships I will never pursue, and Smolensk is one of them. Or Lenin. Or Baije... If I get them in SC so be it, but otherwise no / niet / nein. I had a glimpse of these tiers in Akizuki and Amalfi, and yes, it seemed different than lower tiers. I was very much annoyed because of static gameplay, I was rushing and dying quickly. For Kaga I think I will need more experience, my highest tier is T6 with Ryujo, slowly grinding Shokaku, but little experience. That's the reason why I want to try Ark Royal first (and her historical significance), is it really so bad? I was under impression that it's fun ship? I would say DDs are my main, but really I'm jack of all trades :) I like to try everything, so I have all classes and play them all, just DDs the most. Asashio - I think I will need more experience to play her on higher tiers, I would like to grind Shinonome first. Mutsu - I will get her sooner or later, WW2 Pacific theater was my favorite for a very long time, so I'd say she has a sentimental value for me :)

DDs - can't get Kamikaze or Harekaze, the only choice considering my low skill level is Shinonome - here comes Catch 22 - I need tier VIII to get it. I do have tier VIII ships - Akizuki and Amalfi, but I'm not very good in any of them. CAs - here is simple choice - Atago. But tier VIII, so I think I will get Myoko first and see how it goes. Shame I missed Arpeggio event... I was hoping very much that Yahagi will be decent, but that's not the case, such a shame... BBs - can't get Musashi :( And again skill ceiling is a problem. I will think about Ashitaka as a trainer, but I won't be able to grind campaigns at the same time... Just can't have everything :) CVs - Kaga is so tempting :) But I don't play CVs much, so defo first premium will be Ark Royal for me (I saved Cunningham for RN CV line). For now I will wait until June, when I get coupons in the armory, I don't want to spend my dubs for something I won't like. And it will give me time to get more exp. There are also Japanese ships for coal and fXP. I have a long way to go there yet, but I'll ask anyway: Azuma vs Alaska - which is better to buy? What is your opinion on Yoshino? I won't ask about Hayate, overwhelming majority of forumites says it's too meh for 2 mil.

I did not expect that, just a run in my Yubari after months in port :) Ok, Wyoming was afk, so easy prey, but even without that it was fun :)
