Iowa's armor scheme is insufficient, to put it mildly, you'll still eat regular pen damage and cits when caught showing broadside Though it's a very solid 'cruiser killer BB when played right. If you did well with NC, you'll have no problem with Iowa's playstyle. The latter has great speed, sufficient AA defense, and concealment so most vets would suggest that you always be on the move and that you point the bow towards the enemy and use the rear turret only in the direst situations. Grinding Iowa the hard way will totally be worth it in the end cause Monty is still one of the best all-rounder BBs in the game, despite lacking gimmicks.

Jokes aside, I think Royal Navy DDs are quite alright with a few bad exceptions. Jutland is underwhelming. Acan'tsta and Icarus are just terrible, the latter has floaty shell arcs that can't hit a schnellboot at point-blank. No wonder it was so unpopular in Operation Dynamo. Lightning is a champ! It can stealth torp and sneak up on island huggers without much hassle and is aesthetically pleasing to look at.

This has prolly been asked before but it's been two years tops since Soviet battleships made it to WoWS and the devs have yet to release a Victory Banner version of camo for Soviet Tier X ships. I got this for Vlad during the 'Victory' event and it has been my favorite since, not so much for the ship itself, but the color scheme and the red star with drapes on the bow are really great to look at. This even motivated me to grind Vlad the hard way and it's long overdue they released it for Slava and Kreml, two big beautiful ships that very much deserve it.

If these are anything like SCs, then the odds of one getting Perma camos are very slim indeed and even if you do get one it is very likely the camo won't be for a ship that you want.

Well, you're in luck, looks like Venezia already has one. It's nice to have a clean alternative to spaceship camos that don't always come with rust and water stains all over the hull.

If surface ships can just remove the sonar pings with DCP (which is highly abundant in the early game) wouldn't that drastically lower the chances of getting successful torp hits? A 'good' sub match would be maxed out after 5-10 hits and just about any ship that is not from the obese American BB line can outmaneuver them.

How else would CLs and gunboats have an edge over bigger ships? Torp spam? lol As annoying as it is, damage from fires can be healed very efficiently. Proper positioning and disengaging when necessary should mitigate a lot of fire spam that comes your way. Island cover also helps when your enemy team is packed with spammy little sh*ts like Harugumo, Smaland, Halland, or Smolensk

WoWS is leading in this particular sub-genre of war games and naval warfare/ship enthusiasts seek it out of their own free will even without the help of advertising. As for the player base, I don't see any decline in the numbers (during prime time) but has rather increased since the Plandemic began what with all the new content being pumped out every month and all that free time in our hands. Player satisfaction and enjoyment, however, is quite a different matter.
