Inertia Fuse Skill. Yay or Nay?

Any reason these proposed changes to IFHE were deemed necessary? Are cruisers having too much success against BB's or something like that?

Inertia Fuse Skill. Yay or Nay?

Would their be any point to opt out of having it even after the IFHE change though? Wouldn't it still be of great value when fighting heavy cruisers and equal or lower tier BBs?
  3. Thanks. Btw, are penetration values subject to RNG or distance like WoT? In WoT only HE and HEAT do not lose penetration with distance but AP and APCR does while all their penetration are subject to a role of the RNG dice, is something like this in WoWs? I'm already up to speed on overpen, overmatch and of course ricochet. Overmatch and ricochet are also in WoT but not overpen which I have understood shortly after playing WoWS so it's just the RNG on penetration I'm wondering about.
  4. So the listed maximum damage is only for a citadel strike while the torpedo damage is way too variable since ships have different anti-torpedo belt values. Is this correct?
  5. I guess it cost me how ever many ships I have multiplied by their current cost for an Engine Room Protection equipment minus the sales of the Damage Control System. My Fubuki for Ops is my only real dedicated torpedo boat DD so that was the only one of my DD's that got the TTM for an extra 5% torpedo speed which is really nice and I find her guns to be meh anyway so a little less accuracy on a HE slinger that doesn't really need precision strikes is a pretty good deal but my other DD's are citadel stabbers so they keep their ASM. I've ignored my BB's for now. Millions of credits I guess?

Inertia Fuse Skill. Yay or Nay?

Thanks guys, I went with the IFHE and even though I only ran with it a few times in Ops it has clearly a pretty big damage dealing gain and even hit citadels on bow facing and slightly angled cruisers a few times so not just gainful against sapping BB's which was a pleasant finding. So, if there is an IFHE nerf on its way for up to T7 cruisers, will such a nerf render this skill not worth bothering with or is it still definitely worth taking when considering that while it may not be able to pen BB's like it currently does, it will still be useful for penning heavy cruisers and angling ships, or would those just get penned anyway? Also, after the IFHE nerf, if IFHE is suggested as being no longer gainful and should be dropped with a free reset, what skill to take instead then? I don't really see a whole lot better options that wouldn't have already been chosen before IFHE anyway, it's not like there's a lot of choices worth bothering with left besides concealment expert. Also, is such a nerf not just increasing the difficulty faced by lower tier ships in an already difficult 3 tier system? I mean, lower tiers generally have less hp, less firepower, less equipment options, less range, less everything lol... so now they are going to be even more up against it? Why would anyone want to play an even more unfair offering?

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

I don't think anyone's updated this container info for a long time though. If you look at the daily container possible drop descriptions they're wrong too. I'm just looking at the resources option and it suggests that every container has 400 coal but never any more when in truth you can also get 800 and 1200 coal drops.

Just more flags this time sadly.
  13. Sure it's still not amazing for AA but it does come with an AA boost consumable option which makes it a bit better than the T5 though still not outstanding by any means and a fighter consumable would have been delicious. To expand on my point what I mean is that the Budy addresses a lot of the flaws the T5 has while maintaining most all of the positives and expanding on them, it's a great ship but so far as AA goes, by playing T6 what that means is you are now a tier where you will encounter a lot of teammates that very much do have a highly effective AA complement on their ships, especially U.S. ships so at this tier you'll rarely struggle to find this "borrowed" outlet and basically never stray too far from a teammate bristling with AA so when the carriers are coming for you they eat your teammates AA along with your not so great AA thus becoming a pretty impregnable umbrella or at least very unattractive so while you can still be attacked from the air chances are that carrier player will go to an easier and less punishing target.
  14. The tier6 Budyonny addresses a lot of the Kirovs failings including much improved AA. In fact the Budyonny is one of my favorite T6 cruisers along with the La Galisson. It also doesn't take that long to race through those lower tiers and get to T6 with their small xp requirements at least that's what I found so wasn't bothered getting worked up about it after I noticed how little time I actually had to spend there plus there was hardly anyone there so it took ages to get a battle which was annoying and was just happy to move on up sooner rather than later.
  15. Hi guys, Not a whole lot left in the armory for cheap amounts of coal. There's a massive jump in resource requirements for the next cheapest ship after some T5 Russian BB. It can be used in T7 Ops which is a good thing I suppose, for grinding credits and ticking some mission boxes for events etc so it's got that going for it plus I guess it's pretty cheap tbh. On the other hand it's from the Europe "brance" of ships so... kinda only useless really so far as grinding a commander goes it would pretty much only for this ship so far as I can see. I suppose that would be ok if the ship itself was a respectably solid DD. So how is and is it worth it's coal value?

    A letter from Narai

Ops is by far my most favorite game mode in WoWs. The challenge is about right, bots are good but not great yet not terrible enough to ever be boring and will punish and kill you for playing bad most the time. There's a nice blend of mission requirements to keep it interesting from start to finish and it's a mode that all classes can enjoy with enough challenges and targets for all participating players to have fun with and engaging with. Ops also allows us to chose and enjoy not just the few stronger ships we would normally play in Randoms but ALL the ships of that tier we might fancy playing and because there's no multi tier MM or vs players that would render these weaker or more situational ships less effective or not an option to play so we get to enjoy and play all the ships in our collection for that tier which for makes this mode really attractive and obviously makes the same mission re-playable over and over again since it plays out differently when played with a different class or ship. A lot of event and reward ships are T6 for example, so while some might be a bit too weak against higher tiers in randoms and would have their failings exploited by enemy players, they are really fun to use and enjoy in this game mode so they don't just float there ignored and gathering seagulls in our ports. Ops is also great for grinding through a stock ship or indeed grinding to the next tier if it's a weaker ship that would not do particularly well in random battles compared to it's same tier and class alternatives but in Ops as mentioned, they will still be effective to play and possibly even enjoyable and I don't know about you guys but I only play games where I am enjoying myself like everyone should tbh. It's also good for grinding captain skills too and even some credits unlike Co-op which generally rewards nothing much at all at least not anything worth playing Co-op as a means to which grind anything. Co-op is good for some rinse and repeat or very specific event tasks you really wouldn't want to try and do in randoms but that's about it really and I find Co-op tragically dull otherwise. The battles themselves I find are the right amount of time too. Co-op battles are too fast and dull while randoms can be either fast rofl stomps or drawn out campy overly negative and passive yawn fests where nobody is really having fun lets be honest. So for WG they should really explore the potential in Ops and build on it as a viable income option for them rather than remove an option where a lot of their players/customers are having fun and explore why a lot of players/customers are having enjoying Ops so much and not finding this same fun with random battles, because all that might happen is, at least in my case anyway, I won't bother playing as much when Ops is removed as I don't find the other modes enjoyable. Now I know some love randoms, some love co-op and some aren't bothered by any of them. Thing is though, when you start removing modes from games you are effectively removing and reducing some of it's variety. Good games tend to offer a lot of variety so removing some of it, especially a mode which a lot really enjoy playing, leaves a more limited game in it's wake and I can't see how that's ever a good thing.

    Blyskawica Verdict? Worth Some Coal?

Ya but class performance Emblems are elusively damage based rewards. So for a player of T8 and above it's probably not a clear cut potato(pun intended) unless that player also does really bad amounts of damage. Look at the CV class emblem, a player must average 130k damage per battle for the Elite Emblem. You won't achieve that banging on DD's(pun intended) so even though this player can be accused of throwing the win, ignoring crucial and more important targets and even the possibly criticize the damage based requirements. But unless the guy also bags really bad damage then maybe he's chasing an Emblem to look all cool and get all the girls.
  18. Can you guys explain to me what's the difficulty in players understanding this mission requirements? Keep the damn carrier named Raptor alive and its escort ships the hint's in the mission name for God sake and even if a player is THAT lazy and inept to bother reading the few little mission requirements when they select this Ops it's also stated when the mission starts. The core of the team just need to hang around these ships and escort them from A to B not letting them get killed and yet time and again players just wander off and do their own thing leaving these ships totally exposed and killed which is an insta-fail as soon as that happens obviously so you just hang around these ships, protect them and if needs be you take the shots, take a torpedo hit, do what you got to do to keep them alive and they have repair circle around them so why be such a loser about it? 3 fails from 5 battles played and totally needless. Full teams all alive and full hp apart from me who stayed with these escort ships and tried my backside off to save them and took the shots... sigh... waste of camo booster and signals too... I just don't get why it's so hard for players to follow these simple missions.

So Many Needless Failed Raptor Missions.

And knowing WG from playing WoT for years what that basically means is Ops is most likely the most played offering in the game and taking too many players away from the other less popular battle modes so we can't be having that now can we. You see WG most likely assume that if the Ops outlet is taken away from players that those same players will simply play the other battle modes, modes which are probably more geared towards bringing WG more money but that's not necessarily how it will play out. Instead, those same players that would have logged in to play Ops may decide not to bother playing at all if the mode is removed or at least spend significantly less time playing WoWs. It's hard to know. WG have probably considered this too so rather than say Ops is axed permanently they will say "restored as soon as possible" which of course leaves the door open to bringing the mode back if there's a sudden drop off in players should that happen and the game mode proves to have been a very attractive draw for players that are not particularly interested in the other alternatives.

So Many Needless Failed Raptor Missions.

Ah that's ok and suggests that it's just temporary with the intentions of restoring it soon there after. Being WG though, "as soon as possible" generally is anything but.

So Many Needless Failed Raptor Missions.

WG are removing them? Well that seems like a bad move. The Ops themselves are great to play even if in this instance the teams themselves were not lol. Ops is probably the only reason I bother with this game tbh.

    British Cruisers: Obtain Cruiser London

Ok thanks. I'm sure there's lots of nice free stuff to bag anyway, even if I don't have the time to get all the daily stuff for the ship plus I already got that Devonshire recently even if I don't get the London... and I was also lucky enough to get the T5 Hawkins for free too, so all good my end.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Does this count as a carry? Well, it's a "Carry"er. Get it? carrier? I'll ho-show myself out. Anyways I decided to apply my noob Ops-acquired carrier skills to random battles but set the ball rolling at tier4 as not to jump straight into the deep end. Eventually got a battle and it ended up 3 vs 3 carriers after a long hard fought noobfest. 110+k dmg at tier4 I have no idea if that's good or average but it seemed pretty solid at the time and I ended up killing all 3 enemy carriers and the last several DD's and BB so I'm pretty happy with it but obviously it was a team effort and it's not like I killed every ship from full hp or something so maybe not a carry but a good personal contribution towards bagging the win from what looked like a loss for a while. I'm sure if I watch the replay some time I probably should have played better and was probably lucky at times too but that's how it goes and we take the good with the bad. https://replayswows.com/replay/79337#stats
