Why Does The IZMAIL Get Shafted?

BTW, on a separate note. For those "Hit a target X amount of times with secondary guns" which of the above BB's would you recommend, or would you actually suggest a cruiser instead or something else?

    CV Captain Skill Question.

Hi guys, Just coming up on my next skill point for my Ops CV. He is well trained at this stage but I want to invest this skill point into one of the single point skills on offer. The options are Priority Target, Air Supremacy and Direction Center For Fighters. Priority Target. A very important skill, crucial for other classes of ships of course, an essential must have actually, but not so much for CV's with their redline out of sight playstyle but still important for an unseen DD that might sneak through in Co-op and randoms. That being true, as mentioned, this is an Ops build with occasional Co-op usage so keep that in mind. So far, I've been fine without out on my CV's thus far. Air Supremacy. A -5% for aircraft restoration. Now, to me 5% seems almost worthless tbh. What does that even translate into in terms of extra aircraft over the course of an entire battle? Even one? DCFF. This actually looks rather interesting. It adds one more aircraft to the squadron of fighters, just the consumable launched fighters though, not both but still, when playing Co-op and the rare random battle, perhaps this extra aircraft might be very beneficial at swatting away inbound aircraft attacks on both my CV and any nearby teammate covering me? Thanks. These are the skills so far FYI.

    Good bye, it's been fun.

"it's been fun" Evidently not or else you don't quit due to reasons being the game is not fun lol. Anywayz, good luck in your future.
  4. Hi guys. Now, it's very possible I have missed something about this event so please correct me if I'm wrong, and this isn't a rant of whine btw, I'm just inquiring because either the token drops or container drops seems miscalculate. At a glance, I can see from when I scroll over the event on the port screen that the EU Destroyer Event is stated as "Part 1" which would suggest there is a "Part 2" and thus there will be a lot more containers coming down the tracks for us and as such, I am simply wrong and all is fine, possibly. I did look around the announcements and watched the event vid but I didn't see anything about it. That being true, I usually miss important info and find WoWs info pages often side track and contain way too much non-essential info about this and that but not so much the important stuff about the event or whatever the subject matter is. Anyway, my point is that unless I am wrong which is possible, the token drop rate of this EU event is SO far out, that there was NEVER a chance in hell of getting any ship beyond the tier7 at most with perhaps the odd 1% of the playerbase being incredibly lucky with their token drop rates. I have to wonder, have WG miscalculated their token drop rate for this event? Don't get me wrong I would expect the event to be designed in such a way as to require a person to fork out some cash in order to get the deficit of required tokens for the higher tier ships but this drop rate is so far off the pace I'll actually do well just to get the tier6 let alone the tier8 or 9 lol. Take a look at the screenshot. Now, as you can see I currently have 510 tokens from 15 containers across 3 completed directives with just one directive left, the final 4th directive obviously. The 4th directive will reward 7 more and final containers. I don't think I have been unlucky with my token drop rate, maybe I have been? So that means I have averaged 34 tokens per container. In fact I was very lucky with one container which contained 140 tokens, or on the flip side of that, I have been perhaps unlucky with the 14 other containers lol. As it stands, I would need a total of 600 tokens just to get the tier 6 ship. That's a further 90 tokens on what I currently have and when you consider how bad the drop rate of each container generally is and how lucky I was just the once with the 140 token drop, it's actually realistic that with my final 7 containers, I possibly don't even get that 90 remaining tokens lol! For the tier7 I would need a twice the token value, it's the same price in tokens as the tier5 and tier6 ships combined! For just a tier 7! Ok, the tier8 was most likely always going to be designed to be purposefully an unattainable free ship and would require players to have to purchase it's remaining deficit of tokens with money which I can accept but I'll be lucky if I can unlock the tier6 for free and so if I want the tier8 I need to also purchase the tier7 AND tier8 token requirement?? Holy shhhhh and if I want the tier9 lol..... I would most likely need to purchase a further 2400 tokens after this event! Wow, just wow. Like I said though, maybe there is a second part to this event with a lot more containers and tokens? surely? WG don't honestly think that was a realistic drop rate do they? Do they honestly expect players to purchase up to 2400 tokens, possibly even more, do they? Can someone do the math on how much money that would cost btw in case my calculations are wrong? Looking at the screenshot its 1000 gold for 60 tokens, not sure if that varies with each purchase since randomly chances by the look of it. So that's 2400 divided by 60 tokens is 40 which is then multiplied by 1000 gold, equals, 40k gold which would currently cost a person just over €100. Would you pay €100 for these remaining ships after grinding your balls off for 4 really grindy directives? No way I would but to each their own I suppose.
  5. Wait, so these aren't even premium ships? Someone is going to spend over €100 for some tech tree ships?? Wahahaaha! My sides!

    Defense of Newport Station

Probably the most annoying repeat gripe about this mission is that generally it's right at the end that players donk it out of the park and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... so 20+ invested minutes flushed down the toiled, falling at the final hurdle.

    Defense of Newport Station

Newport Defense is responsible for many a broken F9 key "teammate fall back".

Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers

More trashy 10 token drops from todays 2 free containers and from the 3rd odd looking container I got just a picture of some fat guy watching tv... ? what is this?

Another 4 days until the 3rd directive unlocks... holy shhhhhhhhhhh these events are dragged out.

I don't think it works anymore unfortunately.

Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers

Wow! 90 tokens from 5 containers, WG you shouldn't have lol! Here's my strategy if anyone wants to follow. I'm only really after the tier6 and maybe one of the higher tiers too if I get the tokens(pffff lol! ya right!) but mostly the tier6 for Ops. I have two sets of directives complete and currently sit on 300 tokens in total. To get the tier6 I'm after I will need a total of 600 tokens so another 300 needed. But here's the way I'm going about it. I don't really care about the tier5 tbh but we can only get the next tier ships by unlocking all if it's predecessors or "previous bundle" so instead of unlocking the tier5 ships I don't really want and perhaps not getting enough tokens for the tier6 come events end, instead what I am going to do is not spend any of those tokens just yet. That way, if I don't get the 600 for the tier6 ship, I will still have X amount of tokens to spend on premium time and/or credits without having wasted them on a tier5 I don't really want. So maybe that "don't spend tokens just yet" approach may be of some benefit to some of you guys if you happen to be after the higher tier ships and don't really want any of the lower tier which you have to buy in order to unlock the following tier. At least if you don't get enough tokens for a finish, you won't have spend your tokens on lower tier ships you might not have wanted and instead can use those unspent tokens on other stuff on offer.
  12. It's a "In one battle, earn 1200 base xp" which must be achieved 5 times. Must be completed in Randoms or Ranked battles. Just for one container? You drunk WG? That's MY job!

    Resource Containers nerfed

Now that you mention it, I haven't seen more than just the single 400 coal drop in resource containers for ages.

    Huanghe

Maybe, but like i said, this isn't used in randoms and I don't know how it goes in randoms. It's a pure Ops build for credit grinding and just an alternative and interesting playstyle.
  15. Hi guys, Just tinkering around with my Fubuki in Ops since we have a free Captain skills reset to play around with and try different setups. One option I'm toying around with is the Torpedo Acceleration skill and I've not decided if it is beneficial or not. Here's the thing. The Fubuki, along with other Japanese ships and of course higher tier ships, have a 10km range on their torpedoes and some have even more. I'm thinking that generally anything over 8km range for a torp is not particularly beneficial at least for Ops and mid tier Randoms anyway since hitting a target at that range is pure luck given the time involved for the torpedo to travel that range and it's highly unlikely a target is going to stay on a reasonable stable heading for that entire time. I can't speak for higher tier Random battles etc so when I use the TA skill I get an additional 5 kt(per hour I assume?) speed increase for a loss of 2km range reducing the torpedo range to 8km. I don't really see that 2km as a loss and while the 5kt or 9.33 kph increase in torpedo speed reduces the time the target has to react when they notice torps inbound, especially since Japanese torps like to send there targets a text alert to let them know they're on the way. Also, that additional speed also means that your torps will reach the target before your teammates do lol. So I've currently maxed these torps speed out in with TA in conjunction with Torpedo Tube Modification equipment for a top speed of 67 kt(124 kph) and a distance of 8km which for a T6 DD with 6.1km concealment seems to be a good setup. But maybe I am overlooking something important and for higher tiers. Is that additional range more important for some reason? Like I said, generally hitting a target at 10km is pure luck at least that's what a noob like me finds. The faster the torpedo the sooner it gets there the less which is less time where your target might change direction even if they had no idea there was torps inbound.

    Huanghe

I find it a really nice ship in Ops. I've never played it in randoms but that said if it's bottom tier is going to be much weaker than any bottom tier ship? Probably not tbh and at least this is harder to spot and also has smokes so at least there's that. I would see it as more of a gunboat DD tbh, that gets some powerful guns by DD's standards along with cruiser hp in exchange for having slightly worse camo rating and the citadel liability that a DD doesn't have. But in Ops I would play it very much like a gunboat DD, have the ship set up more DD like and have my Captain skills rolling with concealment expert instead of IFHE, focusing more on setting ships on fire with HE but mostly looking to AP citadel enemy cruisers more than anything else. The guns a really nice on this ship, very accurate and have a excellent rate of fire combined with a really fast 950 shell velocity and flat trajectory just perfect for citadel popping cruisers when sitting in smoke and getting their broadsides, shredding them really quickly. As you can see from the screenshot, with the concealment expert this cruiser has a really excellent camo rating and get about enemy ships not revealing itself until in the ideal position to shred through citadels etc but of course if you have some DD teammate in the area and you don't have to spot for yourself, you can just use the smoke screen instead which unlike the London, actually works reliably to hide this ship. I also equip the torpedo reload booster instead of hydro and what that does is brings it's potent torpedo compliment into play more hurtfully when there's some big BB's need bringing down. Overall a fun and interesting ship and playstyle.

Torpedo Acceleration Skill For Torps With 10km+ Range?

I'm also starting to build the impression that with the longer torp reloads with each additional tier along with DD, torp counter measures, that gunboat DD's are far less situational and thus much better overall and the more reliable and flexible damage dealers than torp DD's?

    "Get 1500 Ribbons" Umm...

Hi guys, Quick question. One of the EU directive missions is get 1500 ribbons and I'm just wandering what exactly counts as a ribbon during a battle and what's a really fast way of bagging as many as possible per battle, the easiest and most common ribbons etc. Thanks.
  19. Sir_Sinksalot

Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers

190 tokens from the 1st directive 4 containers

I don't have those ships. This seems much more grindy than normal which I don't tend to find grindy. I'll just chip away at it I guess and see what I can get out of it.
  21. Sir_Sinksalot

Your eu tokendrop for the first 4 containers

How did you get containers so soon? I only have 2 or 3 of the directives completed and the rest are grindy as F. Gonna take me a long time to complete phase 1 or whatever you call it.

    OPERATION Raptor Rescue

It would be great if all these Ops missions could be played by just about every tier. To me it's seems not to demanding for devs to simply change the enemy ships to tier applicable alternatives. That way, you can pretty much play any ship your mood takes you and will simply enter an Ops battle corresponding to that tier. If you want to play these same Ops missions with Yamato, then you will be teamed with other tierX ships and face tierX enemy ships instead. As it stands, I think we can already play any tier we like in Co-op, so it seems this option should be the case with Ops too and personally I would love that option. As you say, there are some really nice that we would love to play but are not very strong and foolish to play in randoms or will be subjected too a 3 tier MM system which would render them really weak and just be a terrible gaming experience with these ships but at the same time we want to play them and there's a good challenge in Ops not to be found in Co-op so I would love such an "any tier" Ops option too.

    I really dislike Japanese BBs?

I decided to put that theory to the test and build on my T6 Ops collection though I have the Russian cruiser Budy and it's comfortably one of the better T6 cruisers being a fast ship with excellent handling guns, shell velocity and range for her tier but this is about BB's so I picked up the Izmail just now and gave it a try. Really nice BB lol, tinfoil hat time? This ship is pretty quick and nimble for her class and tier. Gun range is only 17 km which is far less than the IJN alternative and I thought would hold this ship back but in reality they really are fantastic handling guns with great sigma and dispersion values along with nice fast AP shell velocity so I've found it very accurate with gun handling is more like a cruisers which is really enjoyable to play and to have that level of reliability to hit targets consistently plus of course this ship has 12 great big guns with big alpha, split into 4 turrets with 3 guns so you get plenty of chances to find that perfect lead for that citadel strike. Glad I took a chance on this ship actually, really nice ship and I'm not even much of a BB fan really so that's saying something. With the IJN BB's I find that big 21+ km range is pure theoretical and I can't hit Jack shhhh with them at full range, and that's before I even activate that spotting aircraft for an additional 20% range lol. Ain't no way in hell I'm hitting anything moving at 26+ km range with 775 shell velocity and that sort of spread, pure luck if I do. Hell, even hitting a static target at that range is pure luck the way shells spread out at a range like that so no, the Russian with 17 km guns that actually reliably hit targets and are noob friendly in terms of shell velocity etc, lovely, that's the way to go, at least for me anyway.
