Yamato secondary build actually not bad as I think

So long as it's a PvE mode, you can be as creative with your ships build as you like and it will probably work on some level no matter how exotic the build. Edit - I say PvE only, but tbh the likes of Convoy and of those alternative "non serious" modes and why not tbh. Go for it.
  2. And then it's back to a strict diet of selling over-powered balance ruining premium ships to fill the shortfall of rigged revenue. Oh well, it's not like we didn't know.
  3. British cruisers and another offering of random yet rigged bundles available in the armory. My favorite!

    Just adapt xD

Ya I don't know or watch that guy much and I play WoT a lot more than WoWS but I can comfortably say there's an obvious difference between hating a game, and hating certain cancerous aspects of a game you really enjoy. Just because a player can rightfully b*tch and whine about the ret*rded aspects of a game they love to play, does not mean they hate the game. It just means they hate that bs aspect of the game they love and would love it even more without the bs they're highlighting. But we all know this anyway. For someone to say "Why do you play a game you hate then?" is a transparently disingenuous comment by that person and just reflects poorly on them.

The Return of Convoy in Update 12.4

It's important that this and all other modes as an acceptable mode for mission completion for various missions such as dockyard, early access ships, BP season, common missions and so on. Otherwise you're derailing different battle modes before anyone's even tried them.

how to get 130k dmg without ANY own hp los?

Isn't that what playing a submarine is all about? Or technically a CV if you don't count aircraft losses? Maybe a ninja torpedo-boat but for most other ships it's about trying to trade positively, to deal more damage than taken, but still taking some damage.
  7. As titled and thanks for answers. Went ahead and got the FDG for my first T9 BB since I will get the T10 for free if I grind it on time apparently which is great. Would have preferred a couple of other T9 BB's instead but I can always get those at some point anyway, I digress. So, after a few frustrating battles with the stock hull I now have the top spec hull and full gun range. Still not the top engine or top gun but by most accounts the stock guns are better overall anyway. I'm having difficulty deciding what this ship is supposed to do exactly. It has excellent secondary gun range but they don't deal much damage(needs IFHE then?) and mains actually aren't that bad, they're rather good tbh. Sure, the main don't have the same range as the T8 Bismarck which sucks but they are bigger guns and have about the same accuracy and shell velocity. The mains also have a decent base reload time of 28 seconds or something like that so there's really a pull between focusing on main guns as the primary damage dealers, either with an accuracy and reload equipment, or even range boosting equipment since the stock reload is already decent OR, to focus on a secondary build with all the secondary build equipment in all the slots and bring the big girl into closer quarters. Thing about going full secondary is, as mentioned it doesn't deal a lot of damage that way, the ship is rather big and ungainly for going in close even with hydro, it's armor seems to leak in big hits without predictability(I don't know where it's leaking but it takes a big full damage shot for no obvious reasons pretty frequently) and going full secondary would seem to waste what are, as mentioned, pretty fast reloading and punchy damage dealing main guns. Advice? Is this one of those questions where either build is correct and yet wrong at the same time depending on who you ask lol?

    Best Way To Get Arsonist?

Depends what ships you have available to you firstly. No point recommending ships you don't have or lines you haven't even started grinding. Since I don't know what ships you have, my go-to ships for a quick Arsonist are as others have touched on, UK BB's. If you have Thunderer then look no further as it packs good range with very high fire starting %. If you're limited to tech-tree UK BB's such as myself then it's - St Vincent. Has the same impressive 65% fire starting chance(with the 2 signals) as Thunderer but with 9 artillery instead of Thunders 8 but with less range, slower reload speed and penetration than Thunderer. Great pyromancer the St.V - Conqueror. Only a 50% fire starting chance but that's still pretty good, very capable of the job and makes up for it by having notably longer gun range and 12 mains which is many more than the other 2 mentioned. High HE pen too but that's not the required task here but just worth highlighting for regular play since it makes a solid damage dealer through pens even when you don't start fires and can get citadel strikes against some broadsiding cruisers. - King George V. "What??" Yes, the KGV. This is an amazingly potent ship and easily one of my favorite T7 ships. Tier for tier this BB is about as good at starting fires as any of them. It has 10 mains rated at 43%. That might not sound as good as the T10 BB's mentioned above and it's not obviously BUT, ships catch fire easier at lower tiers so when that's factored it means you're going to set as many if not more fires than the best of them. It has a decently fast reload 25 seconds, has 10 guns as mentioned and that reload time allows you to nicely time setting ships on fire for that all important second set of fires after they quench the first fires. There's enough meat on ships at this tier to achieve Arsonist, plenty of noobs with lowly trained commanders and poorly equipped ships so chances are very good not just for setting fires because of the lower tiers less resistance to fires, but also because there's going to be players with poor ships and commanders incapable of putting those fires out quickly. 200k+ dmg is nothing rare for a KGV. It's a slightly trickier playstyle due to it's shorter gun range and quad rear turret which forces a lot of broadside to get all guns on target but I play it with a rudder shift mod thingy. Of course there's lots of other capable ships too. Higher tier French BB's have almost as good fire % but aren't typically played in that way yet they are very capable of it. I've found Des Moines with it's high RoF, decent fire chance and high arching shells can utterly torch a couple of noob BB's when sitting safely behind and island and of course, there's plenty of other ships that sit in smoke that can just pepper away at enemy ships with fire bombs so ya, you certainly have options in your locker I'm sure. It's not as massively RNG "luck" as you might think. Good awareness and timing goes a long way to burning ships to death. Try and take note of what ships were set on fire recently, and focus them since they'll now not be able to put any new fires out. Sometimes your teammate might get in ahead of you, that's how it goes.

Is FDG Mains or Secondary build BB?

Oh wow, this old thread. Before the T11 era and subs and so many additional CV's... good times(or were they??) I enjoyed my time with the FDG actually. Many players thought it was terrible but I found it a very competitive ship at the time. Not sure I'd play it now though! Maybe for the likes of battle modes where T9 is top tier but I and probably most players have a Pommern for their T9 German BB needs and most likely a lot of other and better T9 coal/premium ships to select from if it wasn't "German specific" requirements.

Exchange Resources for Ships and Other Resources!

T7 DoY = 101k coal(or less with discount voucher) T7 Hood = 239k coal T9 BB = 228k coal(or less with discount voucher) T10 BB = 256k coal(or less with blah blah blah) So... costing more than a current T9 BB would mean the T7 BB would need to be a very strong and rare ship. The hood is not "wow!" strong. You can have it for a cool 1,723,000 free XP if you prefer. Ummm.... ya... no...

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

..and from my very first of the new "Not so generous" SC's too. As a BB main I can honestly say I am delighted with to bag this ship and it's a good one too so I'll definitely use it.

    İnertia Fuse For Bismarck

I'd say yes to IFHE for German secondaries comprised heavily of those 105mm which is most of them. I'd also reiterate the comments that outline that setting ships on fire is an RNG and situational thing, even a tier thing(since it increases or decreases with tiers) whereas the 32mm of penetration with IFHE on those 105s will punch through a lot of places of a lot of ships regardless of tier and it's the right kind of damage that's almost permanent whereas fire damage can be heavily restored and almost respawn some ships lol. One could argue that IFHE boosting those 105s to 32mm is not necessary on T7 German BB's and lower but since we have a 3 tier MM which is usually featuring our ships as lower tiers then we need to factor that as the "most the time" scenario in which having IFHE still makes sense and just get over it unless you want to roll the dice with getting a lower tier battle which is usually the rare scenario but there'll still be other T7 and T6 ships in your battle every battle(depending what tier your own ship is obviously) so if you're playing a T6 or T7 German BB sec build you could weigh up what you feel is the better tradeoff but you're still going to see plenty of higher tier ships. The few non-IFHE German exceptions off the top of my head are. 1. GK 2. Preussen 3. Hannover Those 3 ships have 128s with 32mm of pen as standard and 150s so there's no real gain in doing so plus unlike most other German BB's these actually either have a lot of guns or bigger cal that makes setting ships on fire with mains an viable option in some situations whereas a lot of other German BB's and lower tiers just don't really have a high fire starting chance with their mains anyway so nothing is really lost with a 50% reduction on what you weren't implementing anyway. The one German BB I found a genuine headache in regards IFHE or without is the Pommern. Of all the German BB's where the choice is more obvious, this combines a combination of 105mm secs and a lot of low cal mains to create a genuine consideration. The problem with the Pommern is because it has those 105s and it's a T9 vs T10 and T11 most of the time, you'll kinda want the 32mm of pen on those pea shooters at this tier for that consistent damage dealing source and yet because if has a 12X380mm Bismarck type mains you will struggle to pen a lot of other BB's of T9, T10 and T11. They're also inaccurate mains but they do reload quickly with the mod and because there's a lot of them it makes setting ships on fire that you cannot hurt with AP a viable fallback strategy instead of just aimlessly blasting the paint off that target with 380mm pellets. That means NOT taking IFHE to keep the salvo fire change at 99+% and yet if you do that then your 105s no longer hit with 32mm of pen which as mentioned, at this tier, is not a good idea. Personally I've just ran my Pommern with an IFHE build commander and just accepted that if I can't hurt a T10 or T11 BB with my mains then just try to avoid that target and focus on something a bit more squishy.
  13. Any recommended ships in the Armory for coal and steel you guys might recommend trying right now? Also and possibly more importantly, which ones to avoid!?
  14. Sir_Sinksalot

Ohhh, nearly discount voucher time again!

What's the cost you ask? Nothing. It's going to be the only Armory option where you actually get paid steel for taking it.
  15. Sir_Sinksalot

Ohhh, nearly discount voucher time again!

Thanks. Is there news of any new ships to be added to the Armory any time soon?(Just in case I get buyers regrets a month later!!)

    Kure Dockyard: Daisen

Paying money just to be farmed and wrecked by T11 ships most every battle is surely a playstyle we all want to subscribe to. Where do I sign up for this great gaming experience??
  17. Well here's the thing, at least personally speaking. I don't get all up in arms about something I haven't tried or lived with so I try to be objective and fair about it. However after trying subs, T11 and hybrids the only one of those 3 I liked was T11. Subs were incredibly dull and boring for this format of battle. Not necessarily dull and boring for ship games generally speaking, but certainly for the quick battles "capping and killing" nature of WoWS. Maybe that's changed with newer sub adjustments I don't know but I don't want to try them again tbh. Like I said, that's not what I was looking for in this game and I have other games that are more sub-sims if I want subs. Hybrids... some will like em obviously but I've seen players struggle with them in a clumsy way and were not particularly effective at playing either role compared to a class that's dedicated to one role and yet the additional aircraft element they bring is just cancerous when added to the already large aircraft presence in the battle which one or two CV's already have. It was already tough to get about the battle with the CV threat constantly spotting and attacking and focusing players so any additional flights of aircraft which hybrids bring were just going to top the scales further in the wrong direction at least this is how I felt. T11. Personally I didn't really mind T11 ships other than the fact it added another layer of CV's without that typical gap between tiers. Normally it's CV's offered as T4 T6 T8 T10 so you can see the obvious gap between tiers but with T11 the devs decided to add CV's which imho was a terrible mistake and not just because they're so f'ing OP and broken and not what I was personally looking for in a ship combat game but also because we can have a T10/T11 battle with CV's from both of those tiers which makes them a lot more unavoidable so far as getting rare battles without any CV's. Other than that I didn't really mind T11 too much and it was just another credit and xp sink for interested players to have a look at.
  18. Hi guys. Just curious about this one today. Personally I stopped playing the game(not rage quit but just found the annoying aspects of the game are keeping me from bothering tbh) when subs were added to Ranked Battles and of course WG have added more subs since then. This isn't a whine thread as I was always just a casual noob that liked to play BB's and that was about it tbh but then again most players are probably just casual noobs. It wasn't exclusively subs that have diminished my interest to play this game but rather the accumulation of too many things that I consider counter-productive to a fun gaming experience when I'm playing surface ships such as the power of aircraft and how more and more ships seem to come with offerings of aircraft... it's just all combined with being pinged by subs and farmed by all things airborne and submerged to become an insufferable cluster-f*** of a gaming experience for me that was never interested in flying aircraft or playing subs in an ship game. Anyway some of you guys undoubtedly keep on eye on the daily playerbase figures. So, has it increased or decreased, has adding subs, T11, hybrid ships with airplanes paid off for WG in that regards? For all their invested time and effort, have this new content worked as they had planned and hoped? Was it worth the bother and upset of so many established players?
  19. Not bothered. The price was very high and the none of these ships put their hand up for being a genuinely good investment or value of freeXP worth bothering with. For coal however, well, we tend to have far more "disposable" amounts of that stuff so I'm glad to see they were at least moved to the Armory as coal ships instead of simply being permanently removed. I want that Nelson back in the Armory for coal btw.

    Hiding Stats

Simply put, there should not be any stat mods allowed in the game that shows players stats during battles. By banning such stat mods we'd have two benefits, 1. Players that are genuinely being focused because of their good stats won't be anymore. 2. Delusional tinfoil hat wearing players with good stats that actually aren't being focused because of their stats will no longer have that card to pull anymore.
  21. SC's were far from being "Super!" as it stands. In most cases I would have much preferred to have actually got the standard container I selected from the daily containers and with that at least be guaranteed I'd get the bit of coal I was looking for, not some random and most likely crappy drop items such as signals for +50% XP, economic bonuses or whatever they're normally weighted to drop the most of. Sure, I got a few rare drops too but the value of the signals and economic bonuses are purely subjective, sometimes determined by which class of ship a player plays most, what tier they play most etc. So these nerfed versions of SC's we can now rename "Trashcans" are even more of an inconvenience. Might be nice if the option to swap them back for the regular container we had originally selected was there.

    Operations skill issue

My favorite scenario is Aegis where most the team dies early and the fleet of friendly ships we're supposed to rescue is still sailing off over the redline at the back of the map before their escort bots are finally killed. "Best damn 20 minutes I ever did waste! Let's do it all again! Can't wait!"
