Can you explain further? I know that Z-39 is very popular with veteran DD players. What makes it better than Haida? Better torps? Longer range hydro/more HP? I feel a bit sceptical about pulling the trigger because of low DPM, but does e.g. better ballistics make up for it?
-
I play Haida pretty much exclusively at T7 randoms, and in Bronze ranked; I know how this ship works. It's fine at T9. The one thing you really don't want to run into is Friesland and high tier German DDs due to their superior hydro, but otherwise it's more than capable of pulling its weight.
-
Yeeeeeah. Haida is like the only DD in which I don't mind getting uptiered. Of course it can't take a head-on fight against a kitakaze, but I've still dumpstered many a bad Akizuki/Kita player who still haven't figured out how rolling smoke + hydro works.
-
Understandable.

Cossack is good too, in fact very good even in T9 ranked (though I prefer Lightning; a matter of personal taste, as cossack/lightning are sidegrades). That said, Haida is IMO much better at T7 than Cossack is at T8, due to the competition - T7 doesn't have such strong, competitive alternatives like Kidd, Lightning and Akizuki.
-
Haida is stupidly powerful at t7, though IMO not quite op like the t61 potentially is. So despite its power I dont see why they will remove it. It isnt even THAT popular except maybe in ranked.

Druid to research bureau 56,000 rp Tone for 11,300 Doubloons
arttuperkunas replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
If Tone has anything like Ise's turret angles, might be a bit of pain to play (unless it also gets un-Japanese levels of armour). A japanese cruiser at T8 that can't kite is asking for trouble. -
aa Your investment into AA? Captian skill points, Ship upgrades, Consumbles
arttuperkunas replied to Adm_Andre's topic in General Discussion
This is the problem though, the whole AA system should be reworked from the ground up. As it is, tweaking only one or two of those variables will not solve the various problems of plane/AA interactions, but will only lead to an even greater imbalance in either direction. That said, given what we've seen from WG's ground up reworks so far, I'm not exactly optimistic that they'll get the next one right.- 119 replies

I'm pretty sure you're pegged as the Secret Grandmaster of the Unicum Conspiracy, so everything you say is suspect. We all know that the only difference between a red and a deep purple player is stat padding, hacks and black magic. Guilty as charged.- 119 replies

This is IMO how the Hedgehog was historically used though, i.e. firing in front of the ship. I don't think it caused any damage to the ships using it. It was, as far as I know, quite a successful design. Edit: ok, watched the video - so referring to how the animation is implemented. Yeah, that's lazy nonsense. Furthermore, I think the hedgehog would have launched the grenades in batches rather than in that machine gun like manner? -

While this is possible, I find it very regrettable, as longer reload and crap sigma will make the ship unfun to play; this is IMO generally the least fun way of balancing. The thing is, lengthening reload and lowering sigma are really the only ways to balance the ship, as the "hard parameters" (i.e. 12 406 guns, prolly decent armor) are things that they will not touch after launch. -

Among the many ironies that you generate is that I don't think I've met another player on this forum who fixates as much on win rate (omg Unicum conspiracies! stat padders!) as you do. -

What annoys me about this hybrid is that it's Tier 9. Which, until now, was often a safe haven from the world of naval airplanes that this game is turning into. -

Then our experiences are different, and we’ll leave it at that. -

And yet, that’s nor how data or corporations work, by and large. The first problem is the data. You have a dozen different developments happen simultaneously, including external stuff like pbase spike from covid. Player numbers can go up despite a “bad” decision or vice versa. That kind of causal pattern will emerge, if at all, only after a long period typically. The second lroblem is your assumption that ppl in corps act rationally (in an economics sense). They often dont. Ppl dont want to admit theyre wrong, because their status, promotion or job might depend on it. Or you can have a wider cultureof, eg, not questioning bad decisions by higher ups. what Ive seen from WG so far, as a guy with some experience of handling empirical data, is nit very reassuring. -

If there’s any rhyme or reason in this, it is wargaming’s hate of vision control and tactical gameplay in favour of easily accessible, arcadey shell/plane swinging. That is the net effect of radar and planes in every ship. -

If they want to sell these ships and see them proliferate, they’re hardly going to introduce caps, are they? -
We played a lot of T5 for whatever reason some time back, so I've played my Texas and Okhotnik lots, particularly the Okhotnik. Haven't really touched the rest of my T5s, got them supercontainers or from events.
-
I did indeed buy the ship, and I don't regret it. Three games, all of them pretty good, and most importantly, great fun. It's weird, as I'm really not a torp boat guy, but I do like the Asashio. I even like the guns... The okhotnik is probably my most played ship, so I am used to heavy alpha with long reload.

You know, I read it again, and you might have a point there. it got a bit complicated while I simultaneously expressed my hatred for T3 bbs and admitted that some of them are slightly less terrible than the others. -

Yeeeeeees...? I wrote that the Knyaz Suvorov is probably less crap than other T3 BBs maybe except the Koenig Albert, i.e. the Koenig Albert is even less crap than the KS. Like, you're still playing T3 BBs, which is painful, but you have the least painful example of that horrid genre. -
