This is what matters. Jingles has the life experience, and probably at this point the necessary detachment from the game to understand the situation.

You are barking up the wrong tree. The one who "exposed" Yuro was not Flamu, but iChasegaming. If anything, Flamu is just milking an already existing drama for views; in fact Flamu has (afaik) not been an active actor in the whole CC debacle this weekend in any shape way or form. fwiw Flamu is just tossing petrol on the WG bonfire for $hits and giggles.

That's not what I mean. That is to say that there are clueless people posting is a given. It's just the specific flavour of the people defending Yuro that I find surprising. Like is his entire fanbase - at least the dedicated fans - weebs with pictures of anime girls as their avatars? Because that was consistently what I saw on twitter.

I think he might have mentioned Asbergers or something in some video. That doesn’t of course explain the factual errors, but it kind of might explain the tone deafness and lack of understanding of some of the squishier emotional/social context here. I’m trying to keep an open mind. I have more tolerance for disability and garden variety ignorance than racism and arrogance (Yuros reaction).

I am very disappointed:(. Loved Yuro’s videos, but I won’t condone this. Also $hitting on the CCs taking a stand is not cool.

@YabbaCoe / other WG employee, can you clarify something? I noticed the Okhotnik has no depth charges. I don't have many tech tree or premium T5 DDs, but so far as I can tell every other T5 DD has depth charges - and my understanding was that all DDs of the appropriate tier would have them. Was this a purposeful design decision, or some kind of oversight? I am a bit bummed, as Okhotnik is one of my most played ships, and if subs do make it to randoms this will have an impact. The model also does not seem to have depth charges, from what I can see.

Okhotniks torps only work against the very worst of bb players, ie those who rush your smoke. It cant even do island ambushes well due to hideously bad manouevrability. Due to the same bad manouvrability it is also not a good open water gunboat vs even bbs (In short - I agree)

“Not good against other DDs?” lol (protip: due to low concealment and insane gun alpha and good ballistics, okhotnik absolutely craps on other dds - it is imo not a capital ship farmer but a stealthy dd hunter and scout; check my Okh stats, I know what Im talking about)

Post your experiences/thoughts as per title. As for me, I got the T6 subs from a random bundle, have done three co op games in them. The subs seem fairly strong against non-dds at least, but very, very, very boring, slow and passive to play, at least in co-op. In general the co-op matches are much longer and probably more boring for surface players, as you seem to have 3 subs per team... So less surface ships to shoot at. So pretty much as predicted by various youtube personalities :P.

I agree. I find it particularly bad when a few members of the class that is specifically intended to counter subs - DDs - has no depth charges. Especially in lower or mid tier games, you can have 2, or even one DD. GG to the team that gets the Okhotnik/Leone, at least if the enemy subs are not completely clueless (as, granted, many are right now).

I had in some posts said that Okhotnik is the only T5-T10 DD affected, so this was probably more intended for me. That said, as I already stated, I did separately ask if anyone had noticed other DDs without depth charges at T5+. Turns out I missed a few (I don't personally have the Leone or Harekaze II).

Are there depth charges there? Do you mean the round things behind the turret? Looked a little like cable rolls to me, but I could be wrong. The things at the end with the finns are naturally paravanes, as anyone who has read the WOWS Reddit will know :P. Edit: or do you mean the rack with the round black thingies in between the paravanes and the turret?

I agree fully with your reasoning, and I was sceptical about this theory for the same reasons you stated above. That said, with Wargaming's "rigorous" approach to data science, it wouldn't surprise me that they either don't understand or don't care that the data they get is going to be sparse, unhomogenous, and generally useless. I mean YabbaCoe has actually stated in this thread that they are "gathering data" and then will make determinations based on that. I cannot for the life of me understand what data they could gather in such a way that any meaningful determinations could be made based on it.

All of this leaves me wondering about the ridiculous communication strategy that WG has. Why do we, the players, have to read tea leaves, speculate, and argue amongst ourselves why something was done? Why could they have not just stated openly their reasons for giving ASW to some ships and not others? Why is it so difficult to communicate? Is it some kind of Soviet style "if we don't give them any reasons then they cannot prove us wrong/argue against us"? Or, more nefariously, that the real reasons why they do things are not fit for public consumption?
