It's a bunch of bollocks is what it is, as you noted. Both historically and in terms of game balance, DDs are the class that counter subs. Picking two premium dds out of, what, over 100 T5-T10 DDs and saying "no you don't get depth charges" is effectively a massive nerf.

Because it's impossible and unprecedented to change the model of a 100% paper ship? (I note, btw, that there is an inaccuracy in the post you quoted; I said the Okhotnik is the only relevant DD that has no ASW. This is incorrect, the Leone also does not have ASW - I did not know this at the time)

I brought up this very same issue with the Okhotnik. Apparently it's no biggy that they nerfed premiums. (nerf: buff every. single. ship. of the same tier and class except for that one) How does it feel knowing that Leone is literally the only DD at tier 6 (including all tech tree and premiums, probably like 20 of them) that does not have depth charges?

Off topic, but I have to say that she has become my favourite dd as well. Not only is she super fun, but she is also damn good. I've put in a bit over 40 games with her, with an almost 70% winrate (this is of course divisions as I don't play randoms solo anymore, but still like 10% over my normal DD winrate, and like 15% over my general average winrate). Thanks again for recommending her to me earlier!

There is a grain of truth to this. It seems that subs are not terribly easy to play in such a way that they have any game impact. And if you consider that a. you get subs randomly and they require no practice or experience and b. how hideously bad ranked players tend to be, the outcome is predictable.

I've seen subs sink a few BBs. That said, I would argue that those BBs were so poorly position (far too forward) that they would have died anyway to DD torp walls or HE spam.

"Killed ranked" implies that there was anything of value to kill in bronze ranked as it is :P. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes have fun. But it is pretty much a window licking contest where the team with slightly less handicapped captains wins.

I can't really vote on this. I can't say I either enjoy them or dislike them - as a DD player. The matches are different, but not really better or worse. So you should add an option for "meh".

The ones I've run into haven't been particularly useful or relevant. Subs seem to kind of counter other subs and not do much else. They rarely have the opportunity to get at BBs due to dd/cruiser screens in front. DDs, unsurprisingly, crap all over them. Edit: from the POV of a DD player (I play T-61 in Bronze right now), they've made the matches easier, as there are less cruisers blowing you to bits when detected, and more holes in surface ship coverage that a DD captain can slip through. As soon as they get into a tight spot they have to dive, basically eliminating their spotting. A good sub captain might change this dynamic, but haven't really run into one so far.

Yes, but it didn't become public (enough) to matter. I certainly didn't know about it. And while I am not in any sekrit inner sphere clubs and discords, I do follow up on most of what is publicly available about the game and the key personalities involved with it.

This is of interest because it connects with a general narrative/subject of interest in the gaming/tech sphere, namely lootboxes and predatory monetisation. No one outside this game cares about CVs or game balance, that's not interesting. This is.

This is one of those "change my mind posts", isn't it? :P As in, something that most of us actually agree with. I mean, I certainly agree with this assessment. But it doesn't stop me from posting on this forum and acting externally. I suppose there might be someone new and naive enough not to understand, but the writing is on the wall for most of us who have been around.

I'm sorry you had to put your face and name to that pile of crap, @YabbaCoe. You guys need to do better as a company. Stop with the scummy and predatory loot boxes and the abuse of vulnerable people like children and veterans and gambling addicts. We as customers are willing to pay for a good product, and despite everything WOWS still is a good product. Keep improving the game, and we will keep paying.

You are right, I did exaggerate. That said, I don't think it's that different. People hold down crap jobs in crap companies for all kinds of reasons, so I try to have some empathy even when I don't like the company in question.

Has that Venom guy changed his handle? This seems like something he would post.
