    For once we're more or less on the same page. They might shake up T10 meta, but T10 meta is stale anyway, so I don't see the harm. Or maybe it's just that this seems like a perfectly ok addition in comparison to submarines. These are just conventional surface ships, so their effect on the game is going to be incremental, rather than blowing everything up and tossing the pieces around.

    The rear admiral raging in chat rarely breaks 50%; more commonly 40-45% winrate. Not always a noob, though.
  4. I can tolerate differences in opinion (like you liking subs) no problem. What I can't tolerate is playing in games with subs (and CVs too, now that you mention it). It's not a question of "let everyone have their own fun" when the fun of the 1/10 pisses on the fun of the 9/10 of other players in the match.

  6. I dont think anyone who has experience of sub pvp thinks that dds hunt/counter subs in any way; it’s quite the opposite.
  7. I really don’t understand this company. Why does talking to them feel like a more or less unfriendly business negotiation? We are not the enemy. We are (or would like to be, if their massive disrespect hadn’t stopped us) paying customers, and the most committed players they have, who really care about their product. Why is implementing player requests so hard for you - what do you lose by it? Why do you insist on pushing stuff we don’t want on us? Is it because you think you know better? Sweet words from @Crysantosand co don’t help when the rest of your actions show how hollow they are.
  8. My impression is that your (WG's, not you personally) reaction is "we understand that you are upset. please don't be upset". I don't mean to be rude, but I don't need your well wishes/sympathy. I need you to keep the game fun to play. Furthermore, you (once again, the collective WG you) seem to be striving hard to create the appearance of community engagement without doing much of the actual enagement. I.e. you are not taking our point of view particularly seriously, and definetely not when it doesn't fit your roadmap/plans for the game. But unless you guys haven't noticed, you won't have a playerbase anymore if you insist on spitting on player opinion and stubbornly sticking to your guns. Because, despite a few corrective measures (such as adding ASW to ships) you have not addressed the core concerns players have with this class: -BS homing torps -Pings that eat up precious DCP -DDs getting permaspotted by more or less invulnerable subs -Maps feeling empty due to lack of ships to engage

  12. I think it's great that now we have another class that will be artificially buffed every time they fall below a pre-defined level of popularity. I mean that's pretty much what that devblog said. I have no words for the amount of self harm good old Weegie is committing here. You really have nothing but contempt for your players, do you? And by contempt, I mean you don't care what we say or feel, because your almight business roadmap and your spreadsheet know better. Shame on you. Shame.

    Because that’s an anecdote and not data? I notice you pivot between spreadsheet stats and personal anecdotes entirely depending on what helps you “win”. One of the reasons why debating with you can be frustrating.

    They have not promised to give Okhotnik/Leone ASW. They said "all cruisers/bbs" that can see subs will have ASW. But hey, not giving ASW to two premium DDs, totally not a nerf.

    I'm going up the IJN torp line for the first time. Opinions on which to pick for Kagero/Yugumo for a. ranked b. randoms? I don't really use smokes much for myself, as it limits spotting; the most useful aspect of smoke IMO is team utility (smoking up light cruisers) and getting tactical shots on enemy dds and cruisers (i.e. fire one-two alphas, smoke up to avoid revenge). What do veteran DD players like @Bear__Necessities, @ColonelPete and @Europizza pick, and why?

    Different folks, different strokes. Personally I'm more or less OK with the balance of aracade vs historical flavour that we used to have. What I'm not ok with is the present obsession of the devs to on the one hand simplify core systems, and on the other hand to add gimmick bloat with every new ship line/premium.
